@@matthieumartelct After acquiring the speed booster you also get the ability to do these yellow boosts. It's an upgrade that you get which you don't know existed at first. You just need to run with the speed boosters on and when you turn blue press down on your controller. If you then press the jump button you do this yellow boost upwards. If timed correctly you can also do this in other directions. While pressing the jump button you can also press right or left for example you'll do a sideways yellow boost. The timing is kinda tricky though. This mechanic is taught in an optional room near the start of Brinstar where you get the Super missiles. On the floor are some blocks that break when running with the speed boosters fast enough. Then you fall down and a birdlike alien teaches it to you by showing it themself. Hope this helps :)

You know what really sucks about Super Metroid?? that when you are done there is nothing like it before or since so your basically screwed,best game ever made,played it when it came out and play it ever few months or so, dont get me wrong, there are other great games out there but nothing like this one.

Holy shit. I actually managed to get all of these on my first playthrough without a guide. Came here to make sure there wasn't some sort of secret 3rd row of energy tanks I was unaware of. After stumbling across the one at 0:55 I was almost positive I had missed some.
Funny my first time playing I only missed one energy tank (the one in crateria where you start). Then on my second playthrough i found that but i missed the one on brinstar that you shoot up at the ceiling next to a morph ball tunnel
At 01:09 (tank #6), you jump the wall and shoot the button to open the door. I’m trying to replicate that but it’s not working. The shoot won’t get through the door to open it. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for sharing. This is one of my favorite games. It came out when I was at college. I remember that I wrote a letter to Nintendo Power Magazine to ask about the tank locations. There was not internet so it was hard to find any information or guide of the video games.
My all time favourite game 👍 I remember getting lost for hours and hours in Maradia just exploring. Then my mind was absolutely blown when I finally figured out how to not only get to the end of the game. Still one of the most epic endings I've ever seen
I missed E-tank #5 and reserve tank #1, but I found every other tank without help, so I would say I did pretty well considering it was muy first time playing súper metroid :).

For energy tank 12 you can actually start from the other side after speed boosting. There is one route in there that will make you fall into the sand but you can jump before that one part onto a different route and it will lead you right to the energy tank
Yes, but the way it's done in this video is SO much easier. I was having trouble figuring out where to jump. I was so mad when I saw you could just enter from the obvious side! 😂

That's weird. It's the very last spot to the right you can possibly stand on so you shouldn't hit the ceiling. By the sounds of it you got the shinespark feature from the speed booster down pat? Try going into that a little bit earlier and then walk as far right as possible before going up? 😣

do a super bomb in the gravity suit area. Do it outside the room you get the suit. Then if you dont know how to charge. Be sure to start running until you turn purple. Then press down. Now go to the end of the hallway and press up and B (Or try A if B doesn't work)
Don't know if I'll ever get that last reserve tank. I can't get a hang of space jumping, let alone wall jumping... :( For the record, I'm playing this game on the SNES Classic.
Mrpastry909 Though I generally agree, they can end up saving your life in the second phase of the Mother Brain fight. If you take too much damage and fall below three Energy tanks worth of health, MB's beam will end up killing you if you don't have at least one full Reserve Tank.
Maradia. I believe in the room after beating that worm mini boss. Could be wrong but it's a huge room with purple metal pipes. The big room with the grappling hook blocks along the walls or what I would call purple pipes where you have enough room to do a speed booster after super bombing down through the floor...underneath the purple pipe floor you can see 2 large quicksand pits underneath in which you can sink down into. These are 2 different paths to where you need to get to They both take you through a room full of quicksand that forces you to sink down. Once you get all the way down you get dropped into another room. That's where you find the reserve tank along with a few other items. You can only do 1 path at a time. You'll have to backtrack to that purple pipe room again to do the other path when you get back there. Both rooms look similar. None of the items are hidden inside the walls so no worries there. Just don't miss any otherwise it's a big waste of time having to backtrack again
I think you can only get the wave beam after your Metroid "pet" saves you and gives you all its energy. Then you cant double back but go foward and continue fighting Mother Brain and continue going foward

Ya it's a bit of a pain in the butt sometimes. Wall jumping off the left hand side like he did in this video is best so you can get yourself up to the ledge up high. Usually I use the shell of the dumb turtle monster on the ground and fail lots lol. After that it's fairly easy to jump off the ledge to the right and grapple beam onto the block. Then just don't fall lol. I like to fully extend when I'm spinning so I can fling myself up in a slow manner and then fall onto the energy tank

@@burnout713he used the spring ball, i managed to do get it without it by jumping while sprinting and press the down button really fast, is not that hard.

It's the room where the chozo statue drops you, just before the gravity suit room. Use a power bomb near the chozo statue and you will find it.

Maradia. I believe in the room after beating that worm mini boss. Could be wrong but it's a huge room with purple metal pipes.
The big room with the grappling hook blocks along the walls or what I would call purple pipes where you have enough room to do a speed booster after super bombing down through the floor...underneath the purple pipe floor you can see 2 large quicksand pits underneath in which you can sink down into. These are 2 different paths to where you need to get to
They both take you through a room full of quicksand that forces you to sink down. Once you get all the way down you get dropped into another room. That's where you find the reserve tank along with a few other items. You can only do 1 path at a time. You'll have to backtrack to that purple pipe room again to do the other path when you get back there. Both rooms look similar.
None of the items are hidden inside the walls so no worries there. Just don't miss any otherwise it's a big waste of time having to backtrack again

@@BlueToastGaming No worries. I figured out how to do the original jump by taking off the gravity suit.
@@burnout713he used the spring ball, i managed to do get it without it by jumping while sprinting and press the down button really fast, is not that hard.
how do I open those metal gates at 1:10, do I need a certain item? I have the triple gun and the freeze ray like you do but it won't open when I shoot it
