One thing that can't be disputed is Vigo was a fantastic villain. If Vlad the Impaler and Rasputin was one person
And yet both historical figures were just as terrifying in real life. Vlad especially. Legenda surrounding him are... well legendary.

I heard they originally were going to have Vlad the Impaler be the main villain in this, but they instead decided to make the fictional villain Vigo.

It was mostly based on Vlad the Impaler.

That rift where Vigo says "Find me a child, that I might live again." as the painting reverts to normal seems a little too upbeat for something that's supposed to be dark and foreboding.

Loved this villain, but why oh why would you kidnap the child of an affiliate of the ghostbusters? There were many other children about and by the time the possession was complete the ghostbusters would just be getting to the museum.
Would love to see him come back in a bigger role next time. They brought back gozer, who didn’t have a lot to do. Vigo genuinely embodies evil and would be great to see him in a fully fleshed out form

It always was weird to me how easily he agreed to help the insane sorcerer. Still a very enjoyable movie.
It is indicated that Vigo has some mind controlling abilities. They only seem to work on juvenile minds, though.

I don't get why this guy's first instinct here was to bow down and beg for commands. Especially since he knew who Vigo actually was.
Did you not register that bolt of energy flowing through his hand for a several couples of minutes? He got a shock from an evil entity, you'd be doing the same in his place.
I wonder if you could actually find Vigo from in the river of slime because there is a river of slime behind him and I wonder if that river of slime leads to Vigo I always wondered that when I was little
From what I took from the movie, the slime was feeding Vigo and making him more powerful; hence the slime dome surrounding the museum after Dana enters looking for Oscar and Vigo being able to physically manifest after the GB rope down from The Statue of Liberty. It also explains the flood of slime coming up from beneath and making that woman’s fur jacket come alive and making the monsters and ghosts appear in the city.
I thought the slime came from a castle risen from the ocean.

It led to the painting at the museum. All slime trails stoped there.
