      There has to be at least one Raiders game that qualifies. We had so many stupid losses to them on the road. But the 38-3 Bills loss is the worst in recent memory. I can't think of a time we were just pantsed like that.

    I watched this game at my old house, and I remember I punched a hole through my wall from this game. I lost the money line bet because of "Turnover Tommy". Then there was that Sunday in September of '04 when the Ravens took out Tommy's elbow and a young Ben went in and never looked back. One of best days as a Steelers fan.

    I went through the 5 stages of grief during the game, except it didn't end in acceptance...more like numbness or drunken stupor. One of those. But Steelers are known for this, in 1995 Powerhouse Steelers lost to expansion team and central division doormat Jacksonville Jaguars, but it wasn't nearly as bad as this loss.

    Dunno why people hate on Maddox so much. I liked him.
    Sure Ben was the stud that replaced him.
    But Tommy was a great pickup and was far more efficient than people give him credit for.
    QB's throw ints and fumbles sometimes.
    He was not, however, prone to making tons of mistakes. Unlike say, Tomczak.... or Stoudt was (Holy shit.. Stoudt Contributed 5 and 6 turnovers in two losses in his big starting year in 1983 to Denver and New England in very close losses 10-14 and 23-28!... Steelers were 9-2 before losing their 3rd game.. let that sink in!)
    The WORST game ever... is not the game you describe.......
    But the opening day 0-51 loss to Cleveland when Browns linebacker Sam Grayson returned two INT's for touchdowns back to back! That my friend... is the worst ever.
    Okay well there was this 59 to something loss to the Patriots and Brady .......
    Then there was the horrible 37-18 loss to them in a Championship game... sigh
    Any one of those beats this by a mile.
    At the end of the day... calculate how many wins-losses a starting QB has with a team to accurately judge them.
    Factor in turnovers... factor in completion percentage... THEN.. factor in "game winning drives" late in the game. That last part is important because it can decide whether or not a QB is "clutch" and can take a win from the jaws of defeat.
    Maddox had some decent game winning drives.. wasn't he the one that came from behind to beat Cleveland 36-33?? ;)
    We all saw O'Donnell in a Super Bowl... trailing 20-17 ... with the ball... and what did he do on consecutive drives?
    Just sayin'....
    But the worst game has to be the 51-0 loss to the Browns on opening day.
    A shutout to a division rival is the ultimate.
    (they followed that up the next week 10-41 to the Bengals loss)

    • @5StarMatchup
      @5StarMatchup  8 месяцев назад +1

      I hear everything you're saying my man and respect it. It's just the RUclips game. "a pretty bad game" doesn't pull the clicks of "worst game ever"
      You know me, I genuinely avoid anything click baity especially on the main show but it is what it is, got to play the game to the best of our abilities. And, I mean, 10 to 1 yards ratio in a game you lost by 18 at least has a case 😂😂😂
      Much love and thanks for watching as always

    • @steelerfaninperu
      @steelerfaninperu 8 месяцев назад

      Maddox would commit those turnovers at the worst possible moments though. Much like Neil did on that fateful day. Maddox threw the pick to open the playoff game against the Titans, put us down early and before you know it, it's 14-0. And that's after throwing 3 INTs to the Titans in the regular season, getting benched in garbage time for Kordell. Stewart honestly should have gotten his job back after the injury and had we rode with him, I think we do better.
      But Maddox sucking did help us get Ben, so it all works out.

      See Browns in playoffs didn't hurt wife told me we are eating dinner as a family you can watch after. Turn game on down 20+ in 2nd q thanked steelers for not wasting my time and turned game off.
      Right now with this team it feels like we can't even come back from 13 points. Don't trust the O. At all. Feels like a backup QB is starting no online. RB is running in mud. And If I can call not only the play when lined up but what side we playing it on 1/3 of the time or more a team who studied it and has the player's to combat it will destroy us... bills and eagles last year and so far 49ers this year we don't have a shot in the playoffs.

    Lol this was bad. I think sometimes we Steelers fans try to remember more of the good from the Maddox era, but there's a very good reason why Cowher put the ball in Kordell's and Bettis' hands in key situations. Also we gotta give it up to Cowher for accomplishing as much as he did.

    I hate to say this. But I think you foreshadowed today with this video from yesterday. Because I think that today's game was almost the worst game I've ever seen as I've been a Steeler fan. The 49ers loss made sense they were a much better team. But we were set to beat the Texans and at least have a close game knock it out early annihilate it from start to finish and in every facet of the game. From the top that Mike Tomlin to Canada down to Kenny Pickett and the offense defense and special teams all of them were embarrassing today every one of them takes blame for this it was a terrible showing. And it just total disgrace. Embarrassing. So I think you could rename the video from here. As another of the worst games ever Steelers versus Texans only not 2002. 2023.
