This motorized screwdriver could fill the gap between manual ones and cordless drills. Once you got used to its unique controls, it accelerates your work with low torque screws. Even tight bolts can easily be handled because of an awesome mechanical locking mechanism. With its adjustable torque limit it lets you tighten screws very precisely and repeatably. Oh and it can boost your skateboard too ...
Like your style and dry humour. With that German accent who said Germans don't have a sense of humour. Well done. And I'm subbed. Hope to review products along that style too.
NERDVille German humour is no laughing matter.
Germans have an incredible sense of humour. Everyone who reads German literature knows it. I'm yet to meet a German who is not hilarious. On the other hand, they will quickly lose it when angered and believe me you don't want to see angry germans :)
*+NERDVille* - I would absolutely love, love, love. just _love_ to meet you at a party...
I fear them more when they are calm and methodical.
You should watch You Suck At Cooking then, he instantly reminded me of that guy
I've got a DeWALT GCF680 with a gyroscope sensor, works really nice and precise. Drilling small holes is also fine. Once you are used to the mechanism, you don't want to go back.
The clutch that prevents rotation is called a Sprag Clutch, and it's absolutely beautiful!
purchased one as a gift via your link ... really enjoy your videos and your sense of humor. The work you put into your videos show, keep up the good work.
in case you haven't noticed, your video is featured on the bangood listing.
And on hackaday
I guess he knows..
Review so good it's almost an ad.
FWIW, DeWalt here in the states has a power screw driver (larger than this, almost the size of a 12v drill) that's using the same type of accelerometer control. This little guy looks like a lot of fun!
I use a hydraulic impact driver for all my screwing needs. Sometimes I don't even strip the screw head
Funny that you mention the only other tool teardown youtuber i am subscribed to... AvE. :) Both you guys are brilliant in your own very different ways.
Endlich mal ein Deutscher, der fast ohne Akzent Englisch spricht.
Und außerdem auch noch ein gut gemachtes Video.
Gibt direkt ein Abbo😀
That looks like a nice tool for very small run assembly, where you can't bother with a serious motorised screwdriver setup, but also don't want to hurt your hands doing the same motion hundreds of times over and over.
It appears as though this product has been discontinued. Thank you for sharing your time and experience with us
I'm going to need a glass of water for all of this dry humor.
Max SMoke , I wouldn't recommend English wine then.
This looks like someone is getting closer to a good driver for small screws, ( unlike the wowstick, which is terrible) though it looks a little slow.
You're right, if it would be a tad bit faster, i'd consider buying it myself!
I like that they went for torque instead of speed, some old gear tends to have pretty stubborn screws.
I'm assuming it's a little faster on the low-torque modes - I'm excited to get one and try it for all those teeny tiny low-torque Eurorack screws, of which I probably have hundreds at this point.
They have a faster one! Look at the ES121, which he also reviewed. It is almost identical, except that it has a different gear ratio, trading some torque for speed. However, I've ordered this one, because I think more torque would be useful, especially for tightening.
wowstick is shit. Works with very low torque stuff. It can’t even undo 3d printer extruder screws.
I'll admit, its the nicest looking screwdriver I've seen for a long time
Handy for those with RSI or bad grip. Thats a one way Sprag clutch, used in Helicopters and screwdrivers.
That is a neat little screwdriver, a lot packed into it.
This is just like the DeWalt DCF680 gyroscopic screwdriver, but smaller. I love the control my dcf680 affords so if I can get the same thing but smaller I may just have to buy one.
The wheel nut made me laugh
Impact driver, what a HOOT!
I bought one as soon as it was available through Amazon Prime in Germany and i really like it so far.
You mean it can't replace my
torque wrench
impact wrench
immersion blender
dremel
aghanims scepter
and right hand?
What a useless piece of shit!
You better watch what you are saying, this new inappropriateness detector has 'held your comment for review'. With the aghanims scepter I couldn't help releasing it tho :)
You're funny. And seeing that Renkforce device from the Völkner Elektronik Versand gave me a nice blast from the past.
"and now, all I need is one final hit." Mike fuckn Forrester!
All your vids are great, this one just stuck out
Hi Marco. I love your videos, especially the very long ones where you repair things... thanks!
A thumbs up just for the AvE mention
but we all wanna know: would you call it a skookum choocher?
We should ask him to review this thing
Not By a long shot .... :D
He would be like" this is child's play stuff :D maybe for his "Chicken " " @Ave
no fokin way
Looks good for the really small stuff but I won't give up my Dewalt gyroscopic screwdriver. I've had it for 6 years and I love the thing.
This is the best tool I've never needed.
Thank you for this review. I had just been contemplating building something like this. It seemed strange to me that no one had thought of it. As usual, my ideas turn out to be a few years behind reality.
A little constructive criticism. I went right to your link to buy one, and did. And immediately after finalizing the purchase, banggood showed me that there was an upgrade for $10 more, the ES121. After trying for 45 minutes on a live chat to change the order, she finally gave up and said just cancel the order and make a new one. Which I did. I wish you would either update your link, or put a highlighted comment pointing out that there is an upgraded version.
Just want you to know, I subbed, and then watched all of your videos. Wish my lab was as nice as yours. Keep on making videos!
All of em?? I hope you didn't go back further than the Lexmark printer, because it gets pretty cringy there ...
Have you seen some of Dave from EEVblogs old videos? same story, and see where he is! Just keep on keeping on.
I didn't mind one bit that this is an advertisement. It's done so right.
Nice tool, but not many applications for it, more like a toy. I have a DeWALT inline gyroscopic screwdriver with 8V Li-Ion battery, 1/4 inch hex driver and quite a lot of torque. Also 2 speeds (low/high). You can control the torque/speed by turning it the way it's already driving the bit or the opposite way. It's very intuitive and has also a large trigger switch and LED illuminating the work area. I highly recommend it. I have the DCF682 but there are 2-3 different models you should consider too.
And to think I had a bad opinion of German sense of humour.
Man honestly you r the #1 for me, nice style and classical music in the end , will you check new smart electronics soon?
Yes, this company is most known for their pocket oscilloscopes and they have sent me one of those. There also might be a new version of this screwdriver, who knows :)
I'm inspring from you, im too student/electronician may be an engineer for next few years , i like that the way you thinking, im on the following Take care yourself we need you :D
Link broke, Firefox said couldn't be understood, it did appear briefly though, long enough to see price and that was it. I love your content bro, been actually in the market for just such a tool, price is too steep for my workman's wallet though. Nice to see it's decent quality though. Thank you
Again great sense of humor and interesting video !
Funny video, love your sense of humour you add to your reviews, keep it up! And now I need to buy one!!
Steve
came back after a few years to finally buy this. sad it's no longer sold anymore
AvE teardowns sind halt einfach die geilsten. Müsste aber auch schmunzeln bei deinem Brushless beast
Carmen!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love your sense of humour.
Your humour is so exhilarating
lug nut part was gold :) thanks for the review
Awesome! Seing the Blue Brushless Brutality Beast in action even had my girlfriend rolling on the floor!
You can spend way less and get a General Tools 500 or Bosch/Dremel Go. Both work well for their size range.
Love your style of review. The screwdriver is only really a bit of a gimmick as it's probably not much quicker or easier to use than a good quality manual one but I can see the appeal. It does appear to be rather well made and the clever way they've managed to get round the limited torque ability is commendable. Thanks.
I just spent some of my last $120 on this for the fortnight, because priorities. But it'll be an awesome addition to the bag of doom.
That is an awesome little tool
The motion controle system has been used in bosh hand drills fir a long time
Haven't laughed so much at a hardware review in a long time!
Dewalt has a Gyroscopic Inline Screwdrive for years. But this one looks very cool.
I subscribed when I saw your patreon link said Buy Me. I love it!
So many videos to consume, thanks!
i fucking love the company that makes these tools they are very interesting and well built useful tools
Love the "Auto"-mode :-)
Just gonna let you know, I didn’t get the joke till you said that
Lol I was about to say you are like German ave, and then you said his name in the video. This whiskey is getting to me.
0:23 I love them mainly because they save space!
As AVE also mentioned: When a company sends a product for a review, they often give extra attention to detail than what you would see on their normally produced models.
Really? That might be interesting for a certain 3D printer video soon, but this screwdriver was processed like a regular banggood order
nice and great video ! keep up the good work!
anyone who repairs thinkpads will need this
Thanks for showing 😉👍
Good Lord I cold have used this while assembling 250+ wireless sensors at work. Would have been a lot better than using a Wiha bit in a DeWalt hand drill
Great review. I love the detail!!
Hätte niemals gedacht das du deutscher bist bei deinem guten englisch, hut ab
Die Anfangsbuchstaben von Substantiven werden im Deutschen immer groß geschrieben.
What sort of precision does it have on the torque settings. Being able to set torque is a nice, but very expensive feature of industrial screwdrivers.
Sehr gute Videos, weiter so!
THIS is innovation.
This was beautiful. Subscribed.
can one of these be used for bigger jobs like assembling furniture? Bigger than electronics work, but not quite as torque-intensive as putting on a tire.
Dude you are a fucking humor genius love these videos!!!!
i love this video. absolutely the best !!!
due to this scene at 0:44 I now say that a decayed screw I've had to drill out of an enclosure has been "Renk'd" or "Renkforc'd"
I can see this being incredibly useful if you do a lot of smartphone repairs, particularly on Samsung devices. Those typically have about two dozen screws holding everything together, and doing them all manually can become extremely tiresome if you've got a bunch to repair.
#1 priority sonic capabilities. I need a sonic screwdriver.
Please add a comparison video to all the other cheaper electric screw drivers. Thanks.
You're so funny. Directly bought one
Very nice :) (Love your vids btw)
maybe good once but now it died for some unknown reason. If i unsolder the batter and plug in the USB I can at least get the firmware version number to display but apart from that it doesnt seem to boot up now. I think its because I didnt use it for a while and it went low power or too much current on the output. I really wish I could get it working again as it wasnt that cheap really..any ideas?
Love this guy
The amazing humor together with the German accent makes this a golden nugget BWAHAHAHAHA awesome video
Funniest screwdriver video I've watched today
Update the firmware 1.8 it’s very good
What differences are there?
Essam Maher We live on a day where we can upgrade our screwdrivers firmware👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
+Juho Pulkkanen there is firmware behind everything you know, cooking heaters, fridges, toothbrushes, cars ..... so some of them would ofcourse be upgradable.
Essam Maher , Apple iDrive7: we removed the socket for interchangeable bits, and replaced it with a welded-in, irremoveable pentalobe.
You can of course use other non-Apple bits, with the use of an expensive & easily lost/broken iDapter.
Massimo O'Kissed lol.
i want that first drill that you made yourself
The electronic device you are repairing at 1:41... do you have any videos of that process? I think I have an old radio of that type which is broken, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it. The internals are incredibly complex, about 4 duel-sided circuit boards.
I found a bunch of leaked caps which cause a lot of damage to the circuit boards, so considering the value of the receiver, I didn't attempt the repair in the end ....
Marco Reps ... fair enough. Thank you for the info. Cheers
This was clearly made for Lewis Rossmann, jokes aside, computer repair and RC hobby would be two areas I think these would shine, I feel like they would kinda suck at woodwork
check out the wowstick precision screwdriver
Excellent review. Liked and was already subscribed. Two questions: What is your academic background and how you came to know of concepts like "bearing" and "bushing"? I'm EE: Controls but my knowledge of mechanical concepts like mechanical connectors and screws are very limited. Any book suggestions? Thanks :)
James Maxwell , look up a parts list for a 3D printer...
Many mechanical parts & terms used there.
James Maxwell ,btw, I thought your background was physics.., kinetics of gasses in particular.
Massimo O'Kissed :) I mean I don't know about basic mechanical things like difference between Allen screws and regular Philips-like screws. I'm searching for a book which teaches these 19th century mechanical concepts to a non-mechanical engineer. A book which discusses the casing of my circuit or best ways to connect motors to a robot.
About the name, actually I know maxwell because of his contribution to Electromagnetics more than theory of gases :)
Love it. Subscribed
ive got a wowstick, with (very slightly) better torque, but doesnt have the same features in terms of manual twist. TBH it's a bit dissappointing as it hasnt got enought torque. I prefer using my electric drill/driver - but obviously more bulky
If this just weren't as expensive, I could totally see myself using one.
Hey Marco, could you tell me what kind of battery is used in this tool? Is it a 18650 or 16650 cell or something even smaller like an AA or AAA lithium cell?
NVM, found this: ruclips.net/video/tXnhf4ezB9U/видео.htmlm. Turns out it's a 10440 = AAA cell (even though the guy in that video says 104400).
You mean sized like a AAA but with the same chemistry and outputting the same voltages than a 18650. Interesting, I can think of a few uses for that sort of thing. Do they make AA sized ones?
Are gears made of metal and what is bit size look descent
My priority for a screwdriver : it have to be sonic !
*smacks it against a doorframe* it makes a sound, that's sonic
Can it unscrew a drip from a bowl of water ?
How had the tool behaved during time? Still working? That brushed motor is still ok? Is a roll that somehow you use frecuently or is always in a drawer?
Im interested in this or the Atuman e3, would be interesting to see how it's standing up these days?
😀 great video and if you ever get that thing to to act as an actual lug wrench I will buy two😂.
This thing is amazing...
Been looking for this! Excellent review.
Awesome episode of the real nerd shopping channel - but where was the "buy two get three"?
who needs a ifixit kit when you can have this XD
Hey! thats my bit set ! :p
Hi there, great video. Can I use it to promote this product?
I wish it wasn't so expensive. I can't wait for them to get cheaper.
