    I have a MY21 Volvo V60 R-Design in Bursting Blue since January. I asked my dealer to retrofit the ticket holder for me. No problem and free for me. I agree on the Plastic keys, which don't fit the premium status of the car. I got myself leather covers for the main key and now I'm absolutely happy. The now discontinued colour is a bonus :) Great videos, man. Keep them coming :)

    Thanks Kristian, this video has made me feel a little less apprehensive about the Four-C option on my incoming 2021 R-Design V60. It was the only configuration left for 2021, and if I had a choice I would have probably opted out of it and would have been perfectly content with the lower sport chassis (test drive it and I’m coming from an STI). Do you have any more videos that talk about your experiences with the 4C system? I hope the “Dynamic” setting will feel similar to the sport chassis of the R-design and I have some concerns about reliability of the system. Does the Polestar Optimization make the system any “sportier”. It also appears to lose the 15mm drop that the sport chassis has. Any observations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    It's a joke to say that Volvo saves money on badges. MY2020 cars may also miss the R line badge on the steering wheel, because that's a "sport steering wheel" option that can be purchased for any trim. In this case Volvo decided that Recharge brand is more powerful than R-design and removed the second one altogether from these vehicles to avoid confusion and focus on hybrid, imagine 4 badges on the back of some cars, that would be like a Christmas tree (Recharge, R design, AWD, Polestar). Leather key fob is an option that is listed separately in the offer, just a reminder, as well as the net by the passenger (in UK sold as part of the convenience pack), maybe can be added in 2022 too? And thanks for the review :)

    U really like the 2020 over the 2019 model year? In the USA the 2019s had the four C chassis and T6 options. In 2020 those were both gone. I actually just learned that if you add the 2019 super charger to a 2022 T5 it essentially is the exact same as a T6. Never realized that before. You’d be super upset if you were living in America and saw the lack of options Volvo has offered us the past few years. Fingers crossed for 2023 🤞

    Nice and informative video again! You really know many details on Volvos in various later model years. Seems Volvo has reached a tipping point and started to costsave on their cars by removing both small and also major items/functions. Just as they think people will not notice it? It is not just the car itself that has got less functions, for Volvo model year 2022 that has Google Android Automotive based Infotainment - the new Volvo Car app only so far contain a few functions (3 or so out of 12, that they will add as times goes, hopefully), there is a list at Volvo website what the 12 functions are. For Volvos with Google Android Automotive it is no Apple Carplay also for iPhone/iPad, only for Auto for Android based phones/pads. On XC40 electric that has been using the Google Android Automotive for over a year it is still no Apple Carplay. When You do a list of things Volvo has removed and also changed not to better but to worse solutions it is rather long list. Some of the changes is not very important (to me) but if You combine everyting it is not a pretty sight. Also the chip shortage that is not Volvos fault add on top of this so the 40- and 60- series got and probably still get things removed (like BLIS, Blind Spot Information System that also the Driver awareness is dependent on). The 90 serie has so far not been hit by the chip shortage and also XC60 T8 I read has not been affected by the chip shortage. Volvo has prioritized obviously. I think I can live with some of the missing or changed features in my V90 T6 Recharge Inscription 2022 that is waiting at my dealer to be delivered to me, as long as Volvo try to restore or make things better to use what they can do via software updates. Also some days ago Volvo has a recall on V90+V60+S60 Recharge 2022 because the plastic tank they have mounted in these cars for 2022 is not ventilated enough so the gas meter could show wrong, there is a software update that is going to correct this.

      Thanks. Glad you liked it. Yeah just purchased a XC40 P8, and the VC app are really basic. Almost useless in my opinion. Weird that it takes so long time to get this up and running in full scale. Yeah the chip shortage doesn't make the long list og changes better. Now the XC60 are also affected sadly. Or else it would be tempting to order, but I'm also struggeling with the Android OS

Is there any chance you can describe (or provide video/photos) how it looks in the new android infotainment with the change of driving modes on the Recharge version. I could only see some videos (incl. yours) but for the mild hybrid or full electric powertrains, not for plug in hybrids. There are four driving modes (Hybrid, Pure, Dynamic and AWD) on plug ins. I am also not a fan of the new android system, but more important for me is ride comfort. Is the V90 T6 recharge as comfortable as a B5?

    • @boedstrom
      @boedstrom 2 года назад +1

      @@kurtkramer761 I have a V90 T6 Recharge Inscription 2022 I got 3 days ago.
      The new Google Android Automotive infotainment is rather OK as it is now but can be improved some to get in level with the old Sensus infotainment. Since I come from a V70 MY14 and it does not have Sensus it is not so bad to jump into the Google Android Automotive infotainment. It will be harder to get used to I think if You are used to old Sensus. But my guess is that You will get used to the Google system rather quick, it is not that hard to use and learn the new Google system.
      The comfort is very good already without active chassi (I have not the active chassi with air suspension), but if You intend to add that on Your V90 if You order one the comfort will be better of course, how much I do not know. On roads not so good, like on gravel with some holes here and there in the road, You will feel the bumps (without active chassi) but if You drive seldom on such roads it is no problem really. To know more about the active chassi and the settings for it have a look in the V90 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid 2022 user manual, it should be described there probably what the options are in the settings for active chassi. On Volvo Cars Swedish site it is user manuals online in swedish, in english I do not know where to read. It seems Volvo stear towards simplifying for a driver many things and I think that goes for the active chassi settings also so no tweaking or few avaliable, it is same on Drive modes for petrol and diesel Volvos 2022, they have removed some Drive modes. But on Recharge 2022 it remain the Drive modes: Hybrid, Pure (only electric), Power and AWD. You can also select for the battery management: Auto, Hold (battery is not used if You want to save the battery power for later use) or Charge (car will charge the battery when You break or driving downhill for example, I have tested it and it works).
      When I drove on more rough asphalt I noticed a whining sound from front tyres at about 80-90 km/h speed. I lowered from 2,6 bar (260 kPa) to 2,4 bar (240 kPa) on both front tyres and that solved the whining sound from the front wheels.

      @@boedstrom Hi Bo, many thanks for feedback. I would like to ask more questions. First, how the switching of driving modes and battery management looks in the infotainment (buttons, sliders, etc.). Next, I would like to ask you about the current status/ability of the new infotainment system to display car status information. Volvo does not have the ability to physically determine the oil level on an internal combustion engine (oil dipstick). Is there any possibility in the infotainment of displaying the oil level in the internal combustion engine, as was the case with the older Sensus system, and/or other information, for example about the windscreen washer fluid level, etc.? I would also like to know if there is/will be a graphical presentation of the use of individual engines and energy distribution in the Recharge version, as was the case with the older Sensus and as is usual on very cheap hybrid car brands. Not in italy. I have a xc 60 inscription my 22 and doesn't have blis and drive mode. And you cannot select pilot assist/acc from the steering wheel but only by the infotainment display. There is Only the off road mode to be selected only by infotainment display and to be used only until 50 km/h. . And not only : the new google android system doesn't work well. So many many problems, software problems , radio and phone problems, parking sensors problems and much others. Until 2021 with Sensus all was better. Now since 2022 with android all is worse.

      Too bad... I was really interested in a V60 T8 Recharge... but in this case I'll rather go with the Mercedes C300 de. Sorry Volvo.
