- Don't be fooled by the 2024 Volvo V60 Recharge's look: It might not look like a sports car, but its Polestar Engineered hybrid drivetrain and Brembo brakes turn this sleek wagon into one of the best sleepers cars on the market. With 455 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque on tap, the V60 Recharge accelerates from 0-60 mph in a whopping 4.1s! All while being able to haul your family and their luggage!
But in typical Volvo fashion, the V60 Recharge is 90% awesome and 10% horrendous. And at a price of $81,759.00 CAD here in Canada one should expect near-perfection. Can this sporty plug-in hybrid overcome its deficiencies to become the ultimate performance mom / dad car, or does the devil in the details ruin this Swedish wagon? Find out in today's review!

Here's to fast wagons! And with BMW recently announcing the M5 Touring for North America, we can't wait to drive more fast wagons in the future 🙌
Volvo is doing their thing I have a2020 T5 R-Design turbo charge , n I love it. My mom also got a T6 R-Design supercharged all wheel drive, and it's quick! Plus there's so many features inside of the car
Glad you're enjoying it! The R-Designs look fantastic!
The center console is shallow because the electric drivetrain runs through the middle. It is deep on one side the non- PHEV models. There is a phone slot right in front of the console, that little indent. There is a cut out to run a charger from the inside of the console and the phone will stand.
Exactly. It sucks to not have storage but it’s explained by the PHEV. That’s the offset, they should call that out.
noooo keep this gem on the low dont go making videos about it!!!! (sick video anyways)
Haha, thank you! While we did have some issues with the V60, I can't say that I don't have a spot in my heart for it. A 455 hp wagon with these looks is just awesome!
Your phone goes into the slot by the handle for the center console. Fits great
Oh, I see what they were trying to do... interesting. Looks like it would interfere with both the driver and passenger putting their arm onto the center console though, no?
@@GCCarsCA there's a space for the phone and it rests leaning forward so you can still open the center console without moving it.
I get the everything in the screen complaint but never hear the same about Tesla’s. Only praise, maybe because the screen is bigger 🤷♂️
We haven't reviewed Teslas yet, but trust us we'd complain about it there too!
Is this car reliable or Lexus
I can't speak about the V60 specifically, but unfortunately Volvo has been towards the bottom of recent reliability studies.
I had a long look at the V60 as a company lease, about a year after it was introduced, Although I liked the car a lot. Like you I found it is cramped, I figured that the reason was XC40, V90 and the XC60 which are more practical, also 455hp is daft real world, you would mash it once in a while to remind yourself what you paid for. But it would be quick with 40% of that.
