The rough blue diamond is stunning, I wish I could see it when it finally gets cut and polished.

This is simply a well-crafted, informative and highly professional documentary. It covers the historical arc of discovery, mining, production, cutting and social impact of diamonds. And of course there is no shortage of mystique. Congratulations to Ms Helmstaedt and her team for an engaging and informative production.

Because you can make it magical. The owner or whoever wears the diamond, will get magical power. The same thing happened with ancient books, scrolls, they had magical power.

One diamond that went missing is the Kochubey Blue diamond later on calling it Hetman Mazeppa diamond with a weight of 50 carats . The stone came from Turkey and after 1709 no one knows where it is . Rumours saying it was used in head gear of the Orthodox church a Mitre .

Diamonds are valuable - they are not rare. The supply of them is strictly controlled by a certain “cartel” of dealers based mainly out of Tel Aviv and Antwerp. For whatever reason this cartel is permitted to exist without interference or competition. It’s all very political.

And they are closing Australia's diamond mines, saying they are empty.... pfft! (It's because of the diamond cartels, no other reason!) Apparently the diamonds in Aussie's mines are not rare, are large and come in many types, esp the so-called rare colours!

No worrying about prices, India now the biggest producer of lab grown diamonds with China and Brazil on 2nd and 3rd place. A 20ct lab diamond would only cost about 2 to 4k and buyer can choose from flawless to Small Incursions also in any colour. Diamonds are Forever is the biggest lie and there are hundreds of tonnes of it under the crust. And lab diamonds are real diamonds Just with out the hefty price tag.
