Cultivating cows in an environment that was never designed to handle it is ridiculous. It sucks but there is a fair amount of blame in the farmers themselves.

so sad ill never complain about non stop rain in Scotland ever again so very sad for them my heart goes out to them. Governments have the ability to seed the sky to create clouds and rain. They have doe it for olympics so why cant they step in and make it rain when its absolutely possible.
Since retirement I've been looking for things to do (that I can do, the retirement was forced due to disabling injuries at work) that are of importance that I never had time for earlier. Many parts of America go through cycles of drought (not here in Kentucky this year, just returned from 2 weeks at my parents place in south-central Ky. where it had rained every day), long periods of no rain but yet the atmosphere will have much water vapor (humidity) which makes our hot summers even more miserable cause you can't get your own sweat to dry enough to produce a cooling effect. I'm doing information research on solar/ wind systems, battery and dehumidifier technologies, newer efficient models of all, along with various cost associated. If all these systems can become highly efficient both in operation and cost I can see where people can maybe one day cost effectively produce their water from the air, relieving the stress put on drying aquifers.
this is so sad ,and i cant help thinking about all the floods around the world , in a proper civalised world we would pipe water t places that need it from the places that have to much , speaks volumes really dont it about how rubbish people really are at managing things properly my heart bleed for the suffering poor people around the world ,and if things were managed right they could ll be happier

Yeay after year more pastoral farmers ask for hand outs putting more load on prime irrigated crop lands to produce livestock foods further degrading what prime land we have left as aquifers bottom out.. Humans are competing for food with livestock so big business can make a $$. No future in this unsustainable farming practice, we have destroyed it in under 200 yrs.
please look up permaculture and early retirement extreme intensive rotational grazing and aquaponics/chinampas. I think the reason the gov folks are able to do things they think are wrong is that they think you can still get out of the situation or they think its for the greater good
