Are youready for some cleaning motivation? Are you ready for some deep cleaning tips and tricks? Maybe you are ready for a room makeover or a room refresh? If you answered yes to any of these, you will find what you’re looking for in this video! In this video, I tackle my dirty den! I deep clean it from top to bottom! it was hard work, but I used a few cleaning tips and tricks to make it go a little faster! Once I got the mess cleaned up, then I do some decorating! I am so happy with the results! Sometime little changes can make a big difference! I sure do appreciate you watching!

Once I get that taken care of, I dive into rearranging and decorating! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new arrangement! 🤗

Bye-bye draperies. Same for the dark gray pillow. Maybe a slightly bigger plant for the coffee table. Just my opinion of course. Love how it looks!
Yes ma’am! I agree with everything you said!! I also think the plant may be just a tad small, but it’s something I had. I will keep my eye out for something that is a little bit more size appropriate! Thanks so much for watching and always thinking like I do! Lol ha ha ha!!🤣

What a great change! I know you basically just switched the main pieces around but the end result looks more cozy. I would definitely remove the heavy drapes. I just don't think the room needs anything there. I love what you did with the ottoman. So simple yet effective! And I like how the chair, end table / lamp, and mirror all look together. My only thought was "Where is the Christmas tree going to go?" I forget what size tree you put in there. I'm sure you'll come up with something perfect. And, I like how you switched up the pillows. Very well done. Thanks for showing us your process, it was enjoyable and inspiring. Wishing you a dust free weekend!

I just knew you would have the same thought about the drapery!! If I wasn’t so tired, I would climb up there right now and drag them down, I don’t think they’ll make it much longer!! 🤣 funny how you mentioned the Christmas tree, once I got it done I thought the same thing!! Here is my plan, I am going to downsize the tree that goes in that room, I’m talking to a friend of mine and we are considering swapping and I will trade her my bigger tall tree and take hers, something a little bit more thin and Charlie Brown like! You know, I’m on this downsizing role. I’m even downsizing the size of my trees!! I’m glad you like the outcome of the room, I’m very happy with it! Downsizing the Christmas tree sounds like a perfect resolution! Plus, it will make decorating at Christmas time just that much easier. Awesome!

The den looks beautiful, Dede! I would definitely take down those dated drapes. Also, by the fireplace. I would put the vases up above by the TV and put the tall candlesticks down below on the hearth!❤️

Had to order a new Washing Machine (getting delivered today). What that did for me was trigger a deep clean of my laundry room/rear entry. That deep clean led me to repainting the room as well. What a refresh. I had put off repainting this room for 5 years. 😅

The room turned out really beautiful! I think the windows without curtains would be better; especially since you have blinds on the inside of them. Plus, curtains can hold a lot of dirt and fuzz bunnies in them. Thank you for another encouraging video ❤❤

This is a great transformation, DeDe! I love it! That was A TON of work but well worth it! Isn’t it amazing how moving some pieces here and there and voila - it’s a new space. I do not have any drapes in my house but I do have honeycomb shades that I can open at the top or bottom to control light and privacy. I feel like the look is more modern and the drapes are just dust collectors. Who needs that? Thanks for sharing all your hard work. Looks great!😊
Thank you, Jennifer! I am loving the transformation too! You are right, it was a lot of work, but in the end, it was worth it! I guess it is my age creeping up on me because I used to be able to knock out stuff like that in record time.. not so much anymore! Lol! 🐰->🐢🤣
I feel the same way about the drapes, seem to date the space and not having them makes it look more modern! You are right about them just being dust catchers! Just think about the time I would’ve saved in that video had I not had to clean them!! 🤔😆

Good morning DeDe, you did a great job cleaning this room. I do like the couch the original way. You are right, there isn’t many ways you can arrange it. As far the window treatments, I would def take those down and do sheer to the ground. (Kind of like I did in the bedroom) I’ve sent you pics. Since privacy is not an issue the would add a warm inviting feeling to the room. Please let me know what you decide. I can’t wait to see. Thank you so much for letting us into your home. Good morning Grace! The drapes are on their way out, consider them gone! 🤣 that is a good idea about adding some sheers. That might give it a light airy look, without all of the bulk!

The room looks great, I love the new arrangement! Oh man, that dirt coming in with your windows opened reminds me of this one day years ago, we left our sliding doors open (with just the screen door closed) but it happened to be a VERY high pollen day. There was pollen everywhere! It was especially noticeable on our black stove. Terrible! 😫

Hello DeDe!!! Window draperies 🤨🤔 It depends. I think you could get away with it in that room . Goodness that dirt did get in, shame on it! It wasn't invited 😤.The bare wall is to much bare for me . But I do like it . Your poor back :( I hope you're resting this weekend. I like your ottoman for canceling 🥂 ! You do a great job at shopping your home to make things feel fresh gain . Well, IDK in the after I don't see the empty wall , very good job!!! Thank you for sharing your tips & tricks . The older I get the harder those kind of things have become! I start out gangbusters and usually start fizzling out before I get the project completed! 🤣 with age, becomes wisdom…. and a much slower pace! Lol! This has happened several times, on a few different Channels I watch . ( its odd, because it had not happened before ).
I really like the Arrangement, .. its one I would use, if I had a similar Space. No, no " heaving of Furniture " , Miss Dede!! ... i agree with removing the Grey pillows, ( and any " hard ,uncomfortable ones, lol ! I was laughing on that ! ) ...and I would eventually replace the Valance ( as well- made as it is, it was probably expensive at the time ) ...and opt for something " lighter in feel "...
I just think that Draperies and Curtains are " Soft Furnishings "...as are Pillows and Throw blankets. Great idea with the Ottoman... ! Storage and seating = A win. 😊( The one Wall Decor puece you removed, might work well for " Fall Decor" ,with rhe Rust Colour.. .abd a few othe touches if Rust elsewhere.. justva thought ! )
You did a lot ,with cleaning, and moving everything around... WELL DONE, friend !! The Room looks lovely... I like it , even though you weren’t sure about it ,in the beginning of doing things.
( I am not a " Sectional Girl", lol.. but I understand why people like them. ) ... I especially like where the chair is , much better. 🙂👌🏻

I loved how you " House Shopped " ... because I think it helps Refresh our Rooms,... ( I'm a Maximslist, in some ways..lol. so I have pillows/ Decor items/ etc.) .

Hello friend, good to hear from you as always! I did not think about the wall, art being cohesive with my upcoming fall decor! Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I liked what you said about soft furnishings with the draperies, that is a valid point. I am not sure exactly what the outcome will be, but I do know that the drapery that I currently have in there need to go. To me, they bring a heaviness and date the room. I have been really trying to focus on just keeping things that I truly love and bring me happiness. Those drapes, certainly do not! Lol!
This is the only sectional that I have ever owned. I enjoy the comfort they bring, but they bring so many limitations, or at least the one I have does because of the unfinished edges.
So far, I am enjoying the new arrangement. It is definitely growing on me!
