Mayrock Harald - WII Veteran

WWII Veteran Harald Mayrock was interviewed in Lima, Peru on February 10, 2015. Gefreiter Mayrock was a German Paratrooper who served in a heavy mortar platoon with the 7th Paratrooper Division, 1st Company of the Luftwaffe. Harald was born in Lima, Peru to German parents. As fate would have it, Harald was sent to a prestigious school in Germany when WWII broke out and was drafted into the Luftwaffe. ‪@MakingHistoryProject‬

Just found out you passed 9/28/2022 at age 95 😥 I always remember your voice. You were a very nice person. Thank you for your friendship. I remember I caught my one and only fish in the ocean with your guidance in Peru! We were in your boat. RIP HARRY🙏

Lo que no entiendo es por que lo llevaron a un colegio internado a los 11 años? Si no hubiese ido, no hubiese pasado por nada de esto. El ya estaba en un colegio aleman en Lima. Me conocia desde BB el Sr Mayrock, siendo yo amiga de Sylvia. Q.E.P.D.

Mis abuelos (los padres de mi tío Harry), quisieron que el hiciera su educación secundaria en Alemania, porque pensaban que era mejor que la que podía recibir en Sudamérica. Idea por lo demás que era muy común en aquellos años.

War is Hell and at any age there is always PTSD as a result. The important point is he was a survivor.

I hear perfectly. Mr Mayrock was always soft spoken and spoke slowly. Here he is probably 90 and recalling his history cant be easy. He passed at 95 last year and I just found out last night. He was a very nice man as I knew him personally since I was born.
