The Strawberry Festival in Nemi is a great tourist attraction in the town of "Strawberries & Flowers"; it is prepared every year since 1922 on the first Sunday of June.

Oh glad you found this one too Geraldine - definitely quite a “different” walk this time for sure… so crowds. This and the Venice walk were the crowdiest walks ever. Don’t know exactly the story of the hats of the “frugolare” (strawberries people) :/

Prety village. Very spring, close to Rome and winth abundant vegetation. With lake Nemi, too.
They say that the modest emperor Calígula had a little house there and on lake Nemi he had two great ceremonial boats, with all kinds of luxuries. Are the strawberries in Nemi really sweet?

Indeed Juan, Nemi has such a rich history... the two ships, destroyed in 1944 very unfortunately, are still somehow preserved in the museum there with many artifacts from the temple of Diana nearby. It's a stunning town. Yup the strawberries from there are quite something (they are the very small "forest strawberries" as we say - quite delicious)!

This is my kind of tour. I love the crowds. Where can one experience this kind of festival? Only in a small town. I think the whole town is outside for this. I love strawberries and this is the harvest season even here in the US. I eat them at least three times a week, they are priced now very cheap. I like the folk dancing. Thanks for bringing to us this festival in the beautiful town of Nemi. I enjoyed video very much. I will watch it again tomorrow.
Dear Esther, I remembered what you wrote and didn't want to miss a video like this. Just do add some "mix" also in the variety of films. The festival happens the first Sunday of June every year, it's very crowdy and many people from all over Italy come; it's truly something. Glad you enjoyed like this, I was sure!)
