Hey all! This is Alex, one of the guys who worked on this project. I committed way more time to this stupid idea than I'd like to admit... Anyway, I'd like to thank Louis for letting me help him out on this monster of a project. If any of you would like to work on projects with Louis, apply to the Weisz Task Force! (Link in Description).
Did you just called this magnificent project a stupid idea?
Edit: I just realised he has only 1 sub. Let's sub to him
Not the hero we wanted. But the hero we all needed.
I'm you're first subscriber
Alex contributed so much to this project, I’m not sure it would’ve happened without him - thanks for keeping me sane while driving me nuts 😂
@@Weisz well done both of you on the project!
He had fewer than 5,000 subscribers when the chicken slapping video came out? Jesus I had no idea he grew that much, I just thought he always had upwards of 700K. Keep up the good work, Louis. Love your content!
Seriously, I'm one of those chicken slapper video subs and before then too and I won't lie, I always thought he was in the 500k subs not 5000 and I was subbed 🤣 it was thanks to Allan and William that I think I learnt of louis 0
@@jackthemagiccat4571 hahaha, I’ll have to let them know - both great guys, I wish I could’ve had them at slapsgiving!

Best slapped food I have ever tried. Complements to the chef, moist and very very tender.
That warm feeling when you work hard to cook your friends and family a festive meal and they're, honestly justifiably, genuinely shocked the food is edible. Holiday treasures.

I told my mom about you slapping a Turkey until it’s done and the only thing she said was “ He’s gonna bruise it”
hmmmm
Bruise? Bruising only happens if blood is present...
She thought dead turkey is like her bum during rough play. Theres no blood yo
@@drewt1717 yer, that's true but some places don't drain the blood of the meat sometimes, especially in Asia were we use the blood of turkey's and such for other things so, if you're rough it can end up in bruising.

You created not only an inconvenient oven, but also AC at the same time. Props
Louis Weisz slowly turning into the American version of I did a thing:
"Now that we've got our piston sounding like a teenager's locked bedroom, I used a little elbow grease to create a small-scale replica of Will Smith."
This is exactly what i was thinking he is legit just american idat
Yeah bro nut shit 😂😂😂
Okay here's two great ideas I had to spice up these unconventional cooking things...
1) cook food with sound. Sound waves/vibrations carry energy, and I vaguely remember something about the insane amount of shouting you would need to make one cup of coffee. Might be fun to put that to the test, though it would be very difficult.
2) a different take on "pressure cooker." You see, increasing the pressure can increase temperature (assuming good insulation and no heat transfer, of course). So I wonder if you could make some sort of oven that has a high enough air temperature to cook stuff, purely generated through compressing the air. A simple piston with a high enough compression ratio might even do the trick. You might get some fun side effects from all the pressure, like water not boiling at the temperature you'd expect, and who knows what would happen to all the delicate organic chemistry under high pressure! Difficult, but it feels achievable and would be very interesting. Maybe some hydraulic press channel could help out.
Vortex tube cold air out one end hot air out the other
A big cylinder to diesel cook the turkey would be hilarious
It would probably pulverise the food though
For 1, a sonic cleaner could be used
@@aidanjarosgrilli Diesel cooker sounds like a great name for it! Funnily enough, the Diesel cycle was indeed my inspiration for that idea.
That sounds like something could explode
Nick jumping back in fear from the slapper cracked me up 😂
Meat beater 9000: you took everything from me
Will smith: I don't even know who you are
I remember watching that first video when it came out. Not only am I glad there's a sequel, but wow, congrats on the growth!
This is amazing. I never thought you'd follow up the chicken slapper video but you never let us down!
Why is Louis so underrated? He is so intelligent, and people should watch him whatever your mood is.
Forest, “Doesn’t that look appetizing” in total sarcasm.
Forest bonus, “You could legally call that turkey”.
The double entendres and innuendos in this are all perfect
Love to see it!!! You're always killing it man
I officially ship the RUclips Science Community and RUclips Cooking Community now.
Why I season my solenoids and not my turkey.
I got recommended the first few slapping videos and for whatever reason I didn't start to follow your content, just got recommended this video and wow your growth is crazy, this video was so well done, I'm thoroughly impressed with the project and the video quality, I'm going to sub right now before I forget
Great video! Just a tip, some strains of Salmonella don't die off at 131f. You actually need 140f for at least 45 minutes straight to be safe. Even to kill the regular strains you would need to be at 131f for more than 85 minutes.
Bro its crazy to see you rapidly approaching 1 million subscribers. I remember when you only had a few thousand and I think I was recommended to your channel with your soap bathtub video. RUclips algorithm is sometimes great, all of your content is great
2:11 "And with the piston now sounding like a locked teenager's bedroom," 😂
So glad to see this video, I remember what a joy it was when this video first launched!
This is a nice project, but I am so pumped for the shrimp fried rice one, anyone knows when that vid Is dropping?
I remember showing my family the first video, and all of us bursting with laughter. This is not different.
“With the piston now sounding like a locked teenager’s bedroom…”
I feel like he's going to accidentally stumble across an amazing new way to cook food through this 🤣
Absolutely loved the humor sprinkled in throughout the video. Subtle but brilliant
Great work, as always. The only thing that really bugged me was your switching between units of measurement for temperature with no warning. It can get a little confusing when you're using both Celsius and Fahrenheit at the same time, and you even sprinkled a Kelvin in there. But that's my only critique. Glad you got it to work!
I’m so glad we have an updated video. What a legend.
he took “beat your meat” to the next level
As someone who's subscribed before slap videos
I can't be more proud of you
Now, cook a potato by slapping it so it will automatically mash the potato and cook it at the same time

Absolutely amazing Slapper!

Louis and anyone else worried about their hearing, noise cancelling headphones/ear buds don't protect your hearing as well as actual hearing protection. If you're working with something this loud, get yourself actual hearing protection.
"And with the piston sounding like a teenager's locked bedroom" AYO.💀💀💀
I think this will succeed if you have a slapper to get it to holding temp and a second slapper to keep it there.
I'm glad to have joined you in those 5k sub days, legit thought you had around 500k then not 5k must of been blind haha thank you William Osman and allen pan for even slightly mentioning Louis for me to watch his dope stuff.
Well done by all involved. Subbed.
WOW YOU ADDING WATSKY IN HERE WAS THE CROSSOVER EVENT I NEEDED TODAY :)
I bet if you put liquid in the balloon with the turkey, like oil or something viscous you'd get better heat transfer/heat generation.
Just a friendly reminder to everyone that you should never "run an oven totally unsupervised"
Good tip! I just meant you don’t have to chaperone/stare at it constantly, though - the old slapper had constant problems lol
Was not expecting to see the watsky swag skit but oh man that's a blast from the past

OMG IVE HAD THE QUESTION IF YOU COULD COOK DOUGH BY SLAPPING IT AND THIS WAS ON MY FYP. YOU ARE A GENIUS
Hey Louis, nice cooking show! While watching, I was wondering why didn’t you go for a spinning slapping machine with a semi rigid slapper at the end? It might not be too reliable at high rpm though
i.... hate to break it to you, but the safe temp for turkey is 165, not 130. 130 is much too rare
You still didn't ate slap cooked chicken
8:08 "Noise cancellation is on so I don't rupture my eardrums"
Audiologist pro-tip... "Just because you can't hear it doesn't mean it's not damaging your eardrums."
Learned this after asking my audiologist about exposure to high-amplitude ultrasonic or infrasonic sound waves...
Helpful! Thanks - will wear proper ear pro next time
5:12 me in middle school making sure to include every nanometer in the calculation:
Look into low n slow cooked meats! Normal temp standards don’t totally apply. I bet if you let that slapper run for 48hrs; it’d be to temp and safe to eat! You could try it on a turkey leg and then send it to a lab to confirm 😸
:edit: yo this was a sick video! I love your enthusiasm and amazing display of big brain excellence!
I cook low and slow bbq and sous vide and poultry is very different than beef.
It doesn’t matter if you hold it at 130 for a whole day the type of bacteria inside poultry is still very alive and well.
Cooking a steak to 130 and then searing it will kill outside bacteria and be safe since the bacteria doesn’t penetrate the muscle. (Unlike poultry)
Cooking a brisket at 200f for 20 hours (which is low and slow…) is fine too as that’s well above the temp to kill bacteria.
Eating 130f turkey is just stupid and it’s dangerous to say it’s safe…
130f is basically a perfect temperature for bacteria to multiply and live happily, so leaving poultry at 130 f for a whole day is extremely stupid because it’s a Petri dish at that point.
Poultry and pork MUST be cooked to at least 160f internally no matter how long you cook it for. (Unless you cure the meat and cold smoke it, which is an entirely different process that this video).
Please don’t spread unsafe knowledge like this because 130f sous vide poultry is not even close to the same as a proper low and slow.
Louis describing the pneumatic slapper's sound reminded me of Theo Jansen explaining The Neutral System of his Strandbeest
i was an automation mechanic for a long time and would see those solenoids and air cylinders every day and have to repair them. They are pretty impressive.
This is actually amazing!!
