What are you decluttering today? Have you ever been to a zero-waste Swap party? I know many of you have started your own since watching my videos, woo hoo! Still time to enter this month's Coaching Session giveaway on this video ruclips.net/video/HafyHX7AWfc/видео.html (Remember to like and subscribe and turn notifications ON, so I can contact you if you win. Good luck!)
I'll be going through closets and doing my spring purge. I usually do a purge at the beginning of each season and donate whatever I no longer want to Goodwill. I'll also be shredding some old paperwork I no longer need, including a stack of junk mail (credit card, medicare, vacation timeshare and loan offers, etc.). And here's a fun one... When you reach my age (71), you get bombarded weekly with mail offers on medicare, home care nursing, funeral insurance, estate planning, hospice care, prosthesis companies, charities you never heard of wanting you to set up a "Legacy account" so after you're gone you can donate money to their cause. And a lot of these charities send you stacks of pre-printed mailing labels (you didn't request) with your name and address on them. All of this stuff needs to be shredded before I dispose it in the trash to avoid the possibility of identity theft. That should keep me busy for a good hour! 😝
I loved how you compared the items you are giving away with what you preferred! This was helpful to understanding why certain items don’t work as well as others. I love the whole clothes swap concept!
My ex had a capsule wardrobe before they were a thing!! He just had a pile of a few T-shirts that he really liked. Each morning he'd take the one at the top of the pile to wear that day, and after washing them he would return each T-shirt to the bottom of the pile!! Simplez! :D
This month, I have replaced a pair of shoes, replaced two pairs of shorts and tossed some socks. I need to replace a bathing suit. Undies, socks, and jeans are edited as they go through the laundry. I have just one pair of dressy pearl earrings and one pair of casual silver western turquoise and a western silver bracelet. Suits the life out here in Montana. We finished putting up the deer fence for spring , installed two new additional raised garden beds-and cleaned out the garden shed. I usually wear v necks when warm enough , although skinny I am busty up top. So glad to see you. We are holding all of Europe in the Light.
I know decluttering is the secret of keeping a tidy home. My wardrobe really needs decluttering again. It,s freezing here in Cyprus and our homes are not built for the cold but I remind myself to be grateful that at least we are not in a war. I will be waiting to see how many of our Ukrainian friends when they come will need things . Our congregation have been asked to prayfully consider hosting someone if possible. I am sure there will be several ways we can help and maybe this will help me let go of things and have more room in my cupboards
We too are collecting and have sent items to the Ukraine. Our church is also asking us to consider hosting refugee families. Poor things I can’t imagine the pain and distress they are going through
My big jobby day was taking down the curtains in the living room , getting them washed dried and ironed and putting them back, interspersed with running repairs and a bit of sewing... errand day tomorrow, then when the dust has all settled, vacuum on Thursday.... feeling whacked and hitting the Baileys!
Thanks for the encouragement. I’m going to declutter my sweaters today, it’s going to be 80F here (California) tomorrow, too hot to fool around with clothes. I bought some cheap, trendy sweaters during the last two years, then discovered that the synthetic-containing fabrics are unwearable, too hot and sweaty. My cashmere/wool section will not be touched, they’re great.
Hi from AZ, love this video! I really like when you explain how you pick and choose certain items and why they don't work for you..its very helpful. Can't wait to see your clothes swap video, always great to see your friends and what they choose too. Much love from us
I decluttered my wardrobe at the weekend and I've decluttered DD"s old Mega Bloks through a local Freecycle group today as well. Go me! And go you, Diane for another great video❤️
Love the clothes swap parties... can't wait for the video on the next one. We don't have clothes swap where we are but we have a BuyNothing Facebook page.... There's a lot of items there that are finding new homes.
You look so nice in that coral color. And that neckline is most flattering on you. Fewer outfits is just fine when they all make us feel and look good. I so enjoy hearing your thoughts on different pieces. It helps me think about my clothing with more intention and discretion. Thank you.
I'm type 3 in the dressing your truth system and when you showed the beaded necklace I instantly recognised why it's not working for you; then a moment later you say: maybe a type 3 would like it. 😁I feel so inspired to organise swap party with my friends.
Oh I still love a decluttering video!!!! I also had a proper sort through my wardrobe today! Yay my clothes can breathe again! So lovely to see your lovely positive self today xxx
I’m impressed with how great of shape your old sweaters/shirts are in. I have a small wardrobe and although I try to take good care of my items, they just get worn & washed a lot. Maybe I’m hard on them. ?? But they wear out within a few years (if I’m actually wearing them!) I can maybe get 4 years out of trousers but I’m lucky to get 3 years out of a top/sweater. 😊
I really like the idea of putting items on "probation". I also appreciate how you go through each item and share your thoughts on what to do with it. You are such a blessing. Now I am inspired to go declutter my jewelry.
Diane, I have the same blue glass heart! I bought it on one of my trips home to Northern Ireland. Funny enough, I agree with you about the length of the necklace. 😁🇨🇦
Thank you for these great tips! Like the idea of one day wearing something you're not too keen on and deciding whether to keep or let go. I will try that too. I hope some of the items from your swap can go to Ukraine 💛💙🇺🇦🌻 That is a wonderful gesture ❤ Rosie 👩🦳🇨🇦
Fun watching you go thru the thought process for each piece. Back in my closet recently, had tried organizing by color now trying by catagory: tanks tops, t-shirt, long sleeves, etc. Feeling like; am I moving piles around! Also packing up stuff from daughters apartment (college graduate) while she works part time!
OH how I've missed the pom poms! Your idea of putting things on probation, I love that idea. I've never heard of it. You made me laugh out loud at the "candy" necklace. I remember those! Thanks for the inspiration. Sometimes just starting on decluttering is the hardest part. Hugs, Dee in Colorado
Hi, Diane, thank you for sharing! I think you’re giving away so easily because there is no waste, just a passing on to somebody who likes or even needs it. Another reason is that you really know your style well now. Have a nice and FRESH clothes swap! Probably coming to Denmark 🇩🇰 soon and enjoying my favourite second hand shop and my favourite gift shop, hope, they are both still doing well. And the sea 🌊… Maybe I’ll try a daily skinny dip, too.🏊♀ I’ve done that before, but at this time of the year only occasionally 🥶.Love, Monika❣
Your video could not have come at a better time. Received an email from my church that they are looking for clothes donation. Guess who will be decluttering this week!
I forgot to say what I am decluttering. I cleaned out two purses. I am trying to decide if I should give one away. I have some sweaters and pants and jeans to give away and one little jar, so far. I have been asking our friend/renter/honorary daughter for advice. I told her that she can be brutally honest. So she told me that a sweater looked like a Grandma sweater. 🙂
Hi Laura Jane! I highly recommend you check the manufacturer's recommendations (you can find the manual online if you don't have the one which came with the appliance) as there are so many different models on the market. I shy away from toxic products and go the easy way, wiping out the oven/oven door after use (once it's cooled down). Hope that helps!
Hi Effie! I don't know if you caught me saying it right at the beginning of the video (and the decluttering/cleaning list) but it is Flylady Zone 3 this week. I'm working on clothes and jewellery for our Swap party this week.

Hi Milissa! I think part of it is that we don't use a dryer...that really seems to suck the life right out of garments! LOL!
@@DianeinDenmark I don’t use a dryer for my wardrobe either. Guess it’s official, I’m just hard on clothes. 🤣
I really like the idea of putting items on "probation". I also appreciate how you go through each item and share your thoughts on what to do with it. You are such a blessing. Now I am inspired to go declutter my jewelry.
I really want to start local Diane in Denmark fan clothes swap parties! I’m so jealous of them! They look so fun and practical

Yes, please!!! I love seeing you sort through your wardrobe deciding what items to declutter. Thank you.
I just decluttered purses and music cd's.......only kept what I loved and needed......less is more!
Thanks for sharing!
I like the idea of a year-round capsule wardrobe.
And if you can do it in Copenhagen, it can be done anywhere!

Sending you a hug, Lynn!
