I don’t follow DYT. But I’ve been curious about DYT, have been very glad it has helped you so much, and have learned a bit from your videos.
I’ll check out the DYT website, though I keep a limited wardrobe (mostly consisting of jewel-toned tops that suit me and look good on me.)

In recent weeks I’ve had a real mindset change with decluttering and have donated so many clothes and items in my home. When you said you’ve been “finding yourself,” that hit home with me.
I don’t know if I can express this correctly, but I am finally coming out from my mother’s shadow. I lost her three years ago and loved her a lot, but in some ways she was suffocating me. I’m an only child. I’m rediscovering “me.”
I’m going to take a new look at Dressing Your Truth. I believe I’m a type 4 but I don’t know my secondary type.

Late to the party, but Diane, you look so very alive and happy in your after! It is infectious. I'm a 4/2 and I absolutely NEED your light bright energy! Especially for house cleaning and organizing, in which I can get far too heavy and structured for my own good (and the good of everyone else in the house). Your wardrobe is inspiring! I'm working on building a new capsule since I had mistyped myself as a 2 for quite a while, and it's so helpful to see how you utelize the system DYT and make it work for you. Also, your capsule looks far from restrictive or boring! Thank you for your helpfulness and sharing your light with the rest of us 💜
I found your channel through DYT. I'm a type 2/3. After discovering my type, shopping for clothes became so much easier for me. I always struggled finding clothes, as I wasn't confident with what suited me. Now I know and love my type 2/3. I have learnt so much from your channel and fly lady has helped me so much with routines and staying motivated. I love the fly lady app and ticking it off as I go with routines and zones. My next goal is to get back into more exercise and self care. Oh and yes your after photo is definitely fresher and younger. Your before photo looks more like you were being your secondary 4.
I’m a reluctant T1...... most of the T1’s on the main DYT pages seem silly and ridiculous to me most of the time. But you have shown how T1s can look classy and beautiful-- thank you.

I agree i think I'm a 1/4 but struggling to relate to thier type 1 fashion in all the videos. I'm uk based so maybe American styles/ fashion vary.
You said it perfectly. I also cannot relate to the pure T1 style the way they show it., just so silly and childish. It actually makes me feel too “fly away” and I need to be a more grounded. I am glad to have the knowledge and use it often but find I like to incorporate the T4 a bit more than the program might suggest. I like to have more bold contrast, color blocking, and kept my black pants (although I haven’t worn a black sweater since took the program.)

I was a model for color in college years ago so I know I am a winter and the jewel colors are for me

I’ve only “known” you since your after style and always thought how put together you look. Since then I started the DYT system and love it! People say I’ve “lost so much weight” (nope) and “that’s the best color on me” (they say that every week about a different color). Thank you for being a light and sharing!

yes, I am also a one and this was really inspiring ........for me it helped so much because I go into the light bright energy as a main thing instead of only being in the energy on birthdays, literally. Instead pushing forward as a 3 would do I enjoy life so much more.

I've been doing DYT for close to a year now - I'm a T2 (I 'think' I'm an S4). This video would be such a GIFT to a newbie T1 that is not sure how to build a wardrobe with T1 colors and style elements!
I wish I had a T2 mentor to follow on RUclips! I was wearing black for so many years...I really struggle with how to put T2 colors together. There are a few ladies in the DYT and T2 FB groups that I find inspiration from - but it would be nice to see this type of video from an experienced T2/S4.
Im a 2/4 also. I'm retired and dont have the money right now to spring for the whole DYT system, or to revamp my entire wardrobe at once, but I think I'm doing ok, a bit at a time. I prefer to dress quite casually, and it would be nice to see someone model that style for my type.

I'm trying to keep basics in grey and black and add maroon, teal, peach tops or accents. It's fascinating to get an insight into your "colour" struggle. I'm amazed how well put together you are, even just in the house.

Just before the last part of this video I said to myself “she has a beautiful smile”. Before or after you are someone to emulate! I struggle with my wardrobe because my weight fluctuates so much!

I've been dressing my truth since 2015. It took me a year of investigation and self exploration to embrace my T4/2 completely, but every step of the way compliments kept me going. I hear "aging backwards" too. The one that made me laugh was when a friend, seeing my black summer dress and fucia lipstick said, "You look like spring!" Only a Type four looks like spring when she is dressed all in black - grin-.
These days packing is a breeze and shopping satisfying.
I recently was entrusted to distribute a member of my family's extensive jewelry collection when she passed. I used what I've learned about movement to analyze my family members dominate energy and made my decisions taking that into account. I got many comments about what I'd given them was perfect and often something that they admired. My nieces said, I was hoping to get that! I don't know if I would have been so successful without understanding the DYT system.

P.S. I think that "chic" is a very T1 word. It even sounds light and current. What might be judged as silly or too youthful on anyone else comes across as witty and chic on a Type One: A light and sparkling sophistication.

I use a capsule wardrobe, for creative expression and to streamline my mornings. For years I “lived in my secondary” (Type 2) wearing soft colors with drapey styles. When I started wearing my Type 1 colors, I felt more like me!

I want to tell you that you looked extraordinarily more lovely today. Red really suits you and you do look like a breath of fresh air. I recently re-started the fly lady system after briefly starting it about 2-3 yrs. ago. I am doing the basics still and a lot of decluttering, etc.; haven't progressed to zone cleaning,, yet. Been doing the program now going on about 3 months- I have a lot to move; declutter. Want to say that the plan really helped me out this past weeks. I ended up having Shingles for this past 2 weeks and having the program was a life saver and it kept me from being more stressed out. By having the basic system in place, I felt less overwhelmed, etc. MInd you, it wasn't perfect or completely absolute but I noticed a difference with how I managed or felt. I am pretty much healed now, thanks to strong meds, etc. Well, off to run my dishwasher, etc. Thank you!

I definitely love the after clothes and hair, I have only recently found you. I make all my own clothes and still look in my wardrobe and think argh some days. I think it is because I love fabric so I go for what grabs me rather then what will go or be practical. I have some gorgeous going out dresses and rarely go out! Great video.
When I first started watching your videos I really liked your outfits. But comparing the before and after I really think you look so youthful, fresh and put together. It is always a great pleasure to see you. Following you on youtube made me aware that I am also a type 1 and I have change my wardrobe accordingly. Getting dressed now is really easy, I have only things that I really like and that suit me and packing my suitcase to go on vacation is also much easier. Since changing my style I do get very often compliments. Even my mother who is generally very critical said to me last week " You really look quite wonderful." So, thank you very much not only have you helped me a lot with the flylady system, but also with style questions.

I’ve been “dressing my truth” too as a Type 1 (not sure of secondary ... i think its 3). But oh my word! the difference when going shopping! i know exactly what will work and what will not. Has saved me many $$$$ on mistakes.

I'm glad this system works for you Diane. I have watched a few DYT videos here on RUclips. I think I am a 4 or maybe a 4,1. The DYT hand profiling video definitely casts me as a type 4!
This is so interesting! I’ve been thinking a lot about my small wardrobe and how it doesn’t seem to be serving me anymore. I’m not excited to get dressed the way I used to be. (Transitioning to working from home from working in an office adds to that.) This was a good reminder to me that I value expressing myself through my style choices and I’m working on a slow shopping list. (I’m a 4/2!)

I'm very much the colours of a T1 but I'm not really into any kind of patterns and I'm pale skinned like you and never wear black. I bought a white denim jacket recently that goes with everything I have, so I'm getting there! Thank you so much you have taught me loads xxx

You always look so chic but approachable and fun too! I found DYT about 9 years ago and really resonated with T2 in all areas except the clothing styles. I just wasn’t into florals, flowing fabrics or muted colors so I put it all aside as I like the classic style and structure of T4. The pandemic really had me lean into the soft aspect and I noticed I naturally toned down my color palate due to the heaviness of the last year. My plan is to reread some of the books and dive into the course again this summer. Thankfully I’m an avid and patient second-hand shopper so I know I’ll find some great T2 items to give it ago again.

In my younger years (and my personality) was always a type 4 , but I have been very attracted to your colours since I started watching your videos. I find them very uplifting. I do alot of thrift shopping and think I will try out some of the "spring" colours this year. I too love pearls and wearing white. I'll give it a try!
