This isn’t the only adjustment. If you take the idler arm off you will see a large ring on the box. It gets taken off. Then you will see 2 holes for a spanner wrench. You loosen the nut you messed with off. Then tighten the spanner nut to 30ft lbs. then back it off 1/2”. Marking the nut to the housing. Then you snug the top nut up.
Thank you for sharing this information. It seems to be a little bit more work involved but, if it gets the job done, I'm all for it. I apologize if I said in my video this was the ONLY adjustment. I found this out through a friend and wanted to share it.
More people who own s10s need to know this. The spanner adjustment needs to be done by now on most s10s on the road but people are replacing steering boxes or driving w sloppy steering
Man, you can adjust that screw a lot more. As long as the stud is still above the case, it’s not worn out internally. I haven’t had one completely worn out like that yet. Think of it like adjusting backlash on a rear end. It’s close to the same concept.
I was nervous man! That's why I only adjusted it a little bit and I noticed a difference when I drove home. I'll play around with it some more. I think that lock nut might be backed off the steering link a little bit too. Thanks for all your help Jamie! ✊🏾✊🏾
Less is best, check your lock to lock travel, they usually have more wear in the middle but little at the end of travel and they will bind up and you don't want that.
No don't go that third one two adjustments that's good enough the rest of that play is from your pitman arm and your idler arm those are the two little arms connected to the frame rails that hold the one Long bar that your tie rod ends are connected to
@justaservant-5888 thank you for taking the time to watch and share your opinion. I apologize that my video was not to your liking. I hope you find a channel that posts videos the way you want them done. I can tell you that this one is not it. Have a blessed day.✊🏾✊🏾
@justaservant-5888 no harm taken. I just try to engage with everyone who comments. Even if they don't like what they watched. If I don't take constructive criticism from time to time, I can learn and grow my channel. What do you think I could've done differently in this video to make it better?

I was told to loosen the nut, tighten the stud down till it bottoms out , and then back it out about a turn and tighten the nut back up
Thanks for sharing 👍👍🙏
@georgemurphy9910 yes sir!✊🏾✊🏾

Oh I definitely took it easy and slow with it. My lock to lock travel is the same right now. I'm trying to creep up on it as I reduce endplay.
Good work thanks
I appreciate you!
Also my apologies Mrs I got into the video happy birthday
@@claysteinbrink9559 thank you!
❤❤❤thank you honey!!!😊😊😊
You are more than welcome my beautiful wife!😍😍🥰🥰😘😘
what about your rag joint?
@DougLubke I replaced it already. This method helped more but, I intend on upgrading to a universal joint style steering shaft soon.

@claysteinbrink9559 good to know. Thanks man!
Pitman is the one in the gear box idle goes in chassy
I appreciate you pointing that out. I always get them mixed up unless I'm looking at the diagram.
Happy Happy Happy
✔️ check
Did not see any kind of play put if you fell any jack the truck up left hand at 9 and right hand at 3 on the tire and push and pull
There was a little there and even less when I adjusted it some. The camera didn't do it justice. Sorry about that.
Oh Man yeah my 92 93 Silverado has horrible play hahahah
I drove it 4 years with no power steering. it has it now and for the last 5 but yeah it can be done. hahah I do not suggest it. hahah
@@robertclarkguitar you gotta be really strong now driving it without power steering! 😆😆
You need 2 videos, one for what the title says. And another for the unessecary 15 minutes of gossiping 😂
