On Monday I'm starting a job with the dress code being smart casual (during summer) and I literally had no idea what to wear!! Thank you for the advise, your video is extremelly helpful and you explain everything in a very clear way
I found your comment, about how outfit suggestions are too casual for the office, really interesting. I just went back to working in an office (ok, it's literally next door to my building so it's almost like working at home) after working from home for 3-yrs. I was SHOCKED at how casual people dress now. Even on "jeans days," we wore dressy casual shoes and dressier tops. Nope... Runners every day, joggers, graphic tees. It's a nice change but definitely not what I've been used to for decades in offices.
There seems to also have been a post-covid comfort-first mindset for the past two years, although I see some companies slowly tightening the reigns again when people go overboard with their prints/colors/shoes/accessoires. Fun to see it evolve overtime to a casual but still presentable fit with still lots of personality!
I loved the part where you mentioned your worries about dress code at your first job. I recently moved to Australia and got a new job, and I'm currently at that stage where I'm observing how Aussie women dress at work, lol. It's comforting to know I'm not alone. Your journey is inspiring! ❤

I'll be so glad when pointy toe heels fall out of grace. They're fugly. The round toe heel or almond toe is more comfortable, allows more room in the toe box.

An exception to this is if you are diabetic. When it comes to shoes, you can't wear some of this stuff. Even if you need to , talk to your boss and explain something that works for both of you. Inserts are a must and there are dressy shoes that are more loafer like, but for a diabetic you kind of HAVE to wear. NO heels or any shoe that could cause you a blister or other problem.

Hi, my RMG(resource management group) keeps bugging me about how i cannot wear a solid straight fit that is a midi/ankle length
None of my skin shows and company policies says business casuals and no mini skirts, should i stand up for it, because its not just my outfit that bugs her, she’s being mean for no reason.
