Wow, I had no idea how different work fashions are in other geographic areas. Though I know those of us in (U.S.) tech dress more casual than many, your business casual is perfectly appropriate for everyday business wear in the U.S. And many items on your don't-wear list are fine for business and business casual.

Payless has a pair of nude and black flats I wear everyday to work. They're closed heel/closed toe and pair well with business attire. I typically wear pants that hit at the ankle or right past it so the shoes work well. It gives a good lesson for women to think about how a new piece suits well with another at home before buying. And yes, it's seems easy yet really difficult to have a small wardrobe but wide selection of outfits, but it worths trying for.
Another great video! I've never worked in an office with a dress code and sometimes it led to strange situations. For example, male colleague once came to work wearing flip-flops, female colleagues were wearing sundresses like at a beach which looked very inappropriate. I think people in the West have more understanding of these things than here in post-soviet world :) Thank you very much for you work again and, you know, after I've started watching your channel I haven't bought a single clothing item that I wouldn't wear. My wardrobe is getting better and better. I am very happy!

I always feel overdressed and so many others to me are underdressed. one girl came in wearings dirty UGGS, jeggings and sloppy sweatshirt. i would never wear that to work in any job. that's lounge around the house clothing. i needed help getting the balance right, this video helped. thank you ♥
Don’t worry about feeling overdressed. If someone else doesn’t respect their workplace and doesn’t even try to look decent it’s not your fault. Be professional and people will notice.

I love this video! (I realize it's a few years old.) Watching it though, really hammered home for me how I live in an area where the world's "business casual" is very close to "business day-to-day" here and that the world's formal is more of a special events wardrobe. I am in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. So, the climate is mild to hot and after work outfits are mostly "beach ready".

I'm in the mental health field which has always been more relaxed around dress than the average setting. But I have always thought that was a mistake. When people are sitting there sharing the most revealing, intimate, and painful things in their life, well, that's all the more reason we need to be somewhat structured. It shows respect and an appropriate gravitas to the subject matter. In addition, my personal style is more toward the classic end. After many years of thinking, researching and experimenting, I am finally finding a style that looks professional and stylish, but also can be creative and even playful. At the same time, I'm not trying to attract attention to me. My services aren't about me, but about my client. I don't want to wear clothes that insist "look at me." I just want to be quietly confident and stylish and attractive in my apparel and my demeanor. (And in that way, I may even inspire some of my clients to do the same for themselves.) Also, I can add that now in my mid-50's, I am dressing more in my personal life too. I think the older you get, the more important it is to go out of the house with the poise and dignity that suits your age i.e.., not meaning formal or stiff, but well groomed and well put-together (including for errands, shopping, travel, vacation, or leisure.) And the less physical beauty we have as we age, the more we need to provide something attractive for the viewer. I think it shows respect to others. Thank you for your tips. P.S. I hate it when women wear sandals (hi or lo) to work. What makes them think we want to view their toes all day? Let's face it: most toes just aren't attractive!

I asked my husband what business casual means exactly because we’re going to a fancier dinner place and now I’m sad. I’m very expressive with my fashion with color and texture so this makes me have to think of not my favorite colors or patterns or structures. It really depends which office you are referring to, some printed pants are acceptable at some offices.
