Kevin is very religious and their new bass, Matt, is also very religious, so as Pentatonix, the abide by these rules. They like that many generations can enjoy their music, especially when they see grandparents bringing their grandchildren to their shows.

Nah. The budget for props was $400. It was filmed and edited by Fifgen Films for significantly more money. They recorded the audio in Avi and Kevin's closet and the video in the kitchen, but only because the studio they had booked fell through and they were on a tight timeline.

This however for technical difficulty, recreating a dance techno sound with only their mouths, and filming/editing won them the 1st Grammy of any acapella group. They have a very upbeat original called Sing Some of the collaborations with Lindsey Stirling are absolutely stellar and you forgive them for adding strings. Yes, it was contacts. Kevin was supposed to wear them too, but their budget was too tight & they didn't have $ for getting special ordered fitted ones like you get from the optician. They were cheap costume ones, so they were irritating even for Mitch & Kirstie who wear contacts most of the time. They were so scratchy Kevin couldn't stand them at all, so they instead went for him to wear the wraparound shades which kind of mimic the helmets that Daft Punk always wore. If you look closely in the video you can see in some shots that the whites of the others' eyes were getting red. They literally were suffering for their art that day!
