What’s the movie Doom about?
A terrible thing happened to the Olduvai scientific research station, based on the planet Mars. All experiments have stopped, communication is no longer possible. The last messages received are frightening to say the least. The level 5 quarantine is declared and the only people allowed access are the members of the Rapid Response Tactical Squad (RRTS). The scientists at this station on the Red Planet have accidentally opened a door into which all the creatures of hell have rushed. An army of nightmare creatures of unknown origin is lurking behind every corner of the countless rooms and corridors of the base, killing the few remaining humans...

“We don’t have orders to kill innocent people”...nice nod to the original Doom game’s backstory: Doomguy, instead of following the order to kill innocent civilians, attacked his leader instead.

The rookie or the kid has a more clear conscious than most of the marines.
Honestly before the First Person Shooter scene, I thought the Rock's character Sarge was the Doomguy but when I saw him killed that young private, I realized that he is NOT Doomguy.
Given that this movie is a loose adaption of Doom 3 specifically Dwane Johnson's character was meant to be Sargent Kelly from the game. Though in practice they are both two drastically different characters that just happen to look kinda similar and have a Sargent rank.
I didn't like Kid when he first appeared. He was annoying and even high during the mission... but he showed real character at the end, bro followed his conscience. RESPECT.
This movie is so underrated. As far as movie adaptations of video games are concerned, this is the best I've ever seen.
That has to be Mortal Kombat (1995) but i love this Doom movie! Its one of my guilty pleasures, i can watch it any day.
I just want another movie with Karl Urban as Doomguy himself and would follow the origins of the Original DOOM Games!
Definitely I would love to see it happen but still remain classic like this without the modern boring cinematic art styles.

Something I always dislike in movies like this is when the commanding officer character is clearly losing it and is going beyond the line of what's right and somehow NONE of his subordinates apprehend him immediately.
So I do like that while it takes a bit to occur the marines all agree this guy is gonna go down immediately.
I remember falling asleep on this movie until this scene 😂😂😂😂

I like to think sarge is similar to Daenerys (game of thrones) in terms of personality. Started off good and slowly went mad due to the events in the series (in this case film).
If look into it you can understand why he was slowly going bad
The lost of 4 soldiers, other ppl being incompetent (pinky being literally useless in everything) and nothing going his way. On top of that his subordinates and civilians and telling him what should and shouldnt do.
I agree the best way to contain the threat would be to kill everyone since if even one infected gets to the surface it could cause a global pandemic - however he does contractdict this when he himself is infected and intends to go up top
That civilian happens to be a high-level scientist that knows more about the place than the soldiers and has done studies on the infected and was able to make a connection on who is being infected why and how. His subordinate is his second in command and is still thinking clearly unlike the Sarge. As Reaper says they don't have orders to kill innocent people which is a great connection to the original Doomguy who got sent to Mars because he refused to kill innocent people.
When Karl Urban shouted, that voice, he showed his acting chops, his voice using, his delivery
In this scene, Dwayne's acting is decent, until that shout from Karl, show us that actually Karl was levels ahead in terms of acting

I do not know why sarge killed his soldier and going crazy he should’ve not done that when lots of people died from this army reaper was telling the truth duke was saving pinky in a pile of dead body and the same cut through the door can use the grenade but it came out in two fast followed them to the ark and started to kill everybody pink he was telling the truth sarge killed the kid on purpose

In the real military the joke would be on Sarge because he's violating UCMJ and Geneva Convention code by killing non-combatants aka "innocent people."

This was a shit movie but there was a hell of a lot of talent in it.
It was entertaining. Kind of like Alien Resurrection.
Now I remember why I hated this film, the Rocks acting and the writers inability to capture even the slightest hint of the mood from the game. Zombies instead of demons, a pussy instead of a silent protagonist, it couldn't have been further from the source if it starred Margot Robbie wearing a sparkly dress and shouting about the patriarchy.

If this wasn't meant to be based off the game, it'd be a good monster movie. But by basing it off the game, it's shit. You could say they DOOMED themselves. 😃😎

You watched Doom: Annihilation? If the first film wasn’t your liking than watch the second film. You might like it, it’s closer to the original two games while this film was based more around Doom 3.
