- In unserem ersten Spezial stellen wir mit Doyle Bramhall II einen der besten zeitgenössischen Gitarristen, der auch seit vielen Jahren in der Eric Clapton Band spielt, vor. Wir besuchten ihn auf Konzerten in der Fabrik (Hamburg) und der Music Hall in Worpswede, wo er mit eigenem Trio auftrat.

Doyle is not only a great guitar player and singer but an AWESOME songwriter. Love his albums Rich Man, Welcome (with Smokestack) and Jellycream. He is a badass.

2004. Clapton Crossroads Festival. Saw this badass for first time. Bought Jellycream album. Was hooked. 2006. He was on Road to Escondido album, with JJ Cale and Clapton. Met him in 2018 in montgomery Al. Great show, nice guy. The real deal.

I still pass on every DBII music I can to others that havent heard his music.
After many years of acoustic and "finger-style" guitar, Doyle turned me back on to electric. I blame him for the cost of the new and ever growing gear!

What's going on with the mix!??? Doyle has boatloads of reverb/echo on his voice and the backing vocals are dry as a bone?

He plays with upside down strings. It's called the hard way. It's a result of being left handed, almost all guitars are right handed so its upside down for us lefties.
He is actually right-handed, which is even more mind blowing. I forget which interview he stated that in.
Anyone know what fuzz that is?
