Or maybe I just feel outside of the grid made for women, as a 51 year old, attractive to some in the right light artist who hopes to find a dynamic companion. I think the framework analyzed are about a younger group, mostly.

But non-participation on the social media / online dating game might, better upbringing with a present father may also, at least as a matter of degree. That said, it's more likely you're having trouble observing in yourself the same forces that are obvious in others when taken to the extreme ("princess treatment", "we're all 10s", etc). And if that's not the case, great, you're a balanced human being and your relationships probably reflect that. You can stay if you want to participate in the discussion regarding the social consequences of the situation and what we can or should do about it. Or you can move on with your life. Either way, commenting "it's great but I don't feel represented" doesn't really add anything to anyone.

    Children typically side with the mom when they are small. You just need to be a good dad and when they are older, they realize your actual worth. I know it is bad to wait so long, but that is how it will go.

    • @KingKrapper
      @KingKrapper 6 месяцев назад +2

      Dad's are often the bulwark of discipline. A lot of times, Dad goes to work to earn the paycheck, and mom stays with the kids and takes them around. When the kid acts up, the mom usually says something along the lines of 'wait until your dad gets home.'
      Dad comes home, and instead of being playful or fun with the kids, he is instead forced to maintain the disciplinary angle with his children. So the kid sees a dad who isn't involved directly in his needs being met, and when the dad is around, he's constantly correcting the kids behavior.
      It's no wonder kids side with the mom. Things are changing now, but is it any wonder that there are so many men and women out there that think that fathers don't do anything? They were taught by their mothers to think it.

    I carry a firearm, am licensed, face the door in restaraunts, walk on the street side on dates, sleep closest to the door and will use my arm or body to shield a woman from a perceived threat or odd circumstance. Those things have helped me greatly. Even women that don't like firearms. It comes off as confident, because I am. But it's less work that I have to do. Most assume that I have the dark area covered just from doing those things. I have hobbies but haven't really needed them much for meeting women. My confidence came from getting good at one thing. Then just building from there. It literally started with learning how to fix a toilet, changing a tire, car battery and on from there. Easy stuff. It gave me confidence because I didn't need to call another man to get me out of a bind. That translated to other things in life. I became the guy that gets called. It doesn't have to be big. But little wins reinforce the mindset to get bigger wins. That comes across, she doesn't need to know where your confidence comes from.

    About whats being discussed in 1:44:00, I think its more than just coping. The fact that relationships and reproducing is in the top 3 most important things in life, means that you want it to come in good terms, and not with a divorce rate of 50+% and so on.
    I see the complaining as an unconscious means to create a social change to this dynamic, not only playing the victim.
    The fact that its top 3 in life, means that society can force you to sigh a bad deal, pay a big price, becuase you simply HAVE to get it to live well. Not cool in my opinion.

      Let's not forget that this issue comes with a necessity for a close bond between a man and a woman. What tends to get overlooked is the fact that while some men try to self-maximize to become a good mate choice, we still live in a world where women are the gatekeepers of sex. And with that, lies the issue of their increase in dating standards. Once you've gone through some self-improvement as a man, the ball is in their court for accepting you as a long term partner. And there in lies the rub. We talk amongst ourselves as men day in and day out in order to improve our quality of life, but our messaging seems to seldom get through to the majority of women so they can have more reasonable expectations and sacrifice a few more standards in order for both parties to win in life. Complaining about this issue is something I'll usually never do, personally. But to ignore that major factor in all this seems disingenuous.

    • @everObvious
      @everObvious 7 месяцев назад +3

      Two thoughts:
      😒 This guy called in to complain about men complaining. I’m sure he fails to see the irony.
      Shade aside (because I genuinely try to be constructive): if evolutionary psychology has merit, then men are innately driven to solve problems. Much of what gets deemed “complaining,” I see as men working to articulate the problem.

      Society can push, you gotta push back, slow down, and do things how you feel are right.

    Hm. Ill take a crack at this for @hoemath.
    Level 10 might be something like a dispassionate empathy for all beings. The ability to virtualize the perspectives of others or even variations of yourself and move through those concepts like everyday thought.
    The Singularity of Holistic Multiplicity

    • @saintsword23
      @saintsword23 7 месяцев назад +3

      This isn't the case. Level 10 is simply awareness of the immediate, present moment without believing any thought that appears. It's where the reflex of the mind to bend back on itself (which is what the self is) stops. The senses and thoughts continue, but no one is there to get entangled in them or experience them. Or, at least, what's beyond level 9, at least somewhere, is simply awareness of the immediate, present moment without believing any thought that appears. Level 9 is the highest development of the self, so level 10 must be beyond the self. And no, "beyond the self" doesn't mean "empathy for the other," it's the end of the entire self/other paradigm at all.
      Your description is closer to someone between level six and seven. Six is where the emphasis on empathy occurs, seven is where perspectives are integrated with discernment and dispassion.

    • @thedappermagician6905
      @thedappermagician6905 7 месяцев назад

      @@saintsword23 this depends. We can abstract "backwards" and "forwards". But there are experiences of universal connection As an Agent. The end step isn't always a defacto Samadhi-type experience.
      What you're describing is end of cycle experiences which cannot support civilization. Since the AQAL model compares societies and the levels one Can maintain, I see the experience of what youre talking about as a parallel lane but not Level 10 per se.
      The literature describing what youve described is well known and should be in this model. But its not...because the model isnt concerning itself with that.
      And you can reach those no-self experiences from any stage.

    • @thedappermagician6905
      @thedappermagician6905 7 месяцев назад

      @@saintsword23 Beyond the self does not need to be abandoning of the "self" structure. It can also be talking about where this model comes from: Transpersonality.

    • @saintsword23
      @saintsword23 7 месяцев назад

      @@thedappermagician6905 The end of the self is a distinctive thing and it's really clear: it's where the reflexive bending back of the mind on itself stops occurring.
      If level 9 is the highest level of the self, level 10 must be beyond the self. If the self doesn't end at level 10, then level 9 is not the highest level of the self. That's simple logic.

    • @thedappermagician6905
      @thedappermagician6905 7 месяцев назад

      @@saintsword23 no, its not simple logic. Youre using a presupposition that 10 is the end. Nothing says it has to be. Extinguishing of the "self" is an altogether different mode and can be done at any of the levels (in a sense). Thats why it doesnt belong on the AQAL.
      If youre using the chart as your basis then end it at the chart and dont assume that there even IS a 10.
      My tackling of the issue is because i think the 1-9 model is useful but its far fron complete. This is why i gave my ideas

We should just work on us and Chicks are just a hobby we lightly indulge in once in awhile. Its way to draining to try to hunt for a GF. Not that I am doing that. When pondering the preferences in human males in terms of parenthood I stumbled upon a book where it read that fatherhood in different types of mammals different greatly; meaning foxes tend to stick around a while after the baby foxes are born versus another male mammal might not even stick around to aid the nesting.... It's indeed silly though to compare humans to any one type of mammal or animal because our cognitive function has been shown to override common sense/natural living.... That said, what makes us humans so special is our free will, so if a man wants to be a fox or if he doesn't, what matters in a relationship is when you agree on how to proceed. + I love Teal Swan's video where she offers that there is no such thing as equality. And the you can only have 2/3 is always so wonderful... + the whole society issue is that the 1% has been robbing us blind and turning people onto unnatural crap like the lobster slow boil. And then feminism and religion steered women into punishing men for the state of things. To some degree it makes sense as men are the go-getters, but we women have to understand that we are the ones setting the goals/what they are supposed to go-get. And so if we women fall for the false standards the lobster eating few have dropped us in without ownership, I as a woman give you personally permission to stop wasting your time with those women. Because there are plenty of us left who value balanced relationships where we are not equal, but happily interdependent! + as for self-maximizing expertise on fashion ; hygiene and health are key, but fashion and physical form are more in the preference range --if you are lead dosha Kapha you will never be Vatta skiny or super toned, so own it! I love non muscular skinny men and really dislike large muscular men.... And eventually it's probably pheromones anyway, so just feel good with your natural shape and you won't be unhealthy or overweight! Self-love all the way!!! + I am bisexual and my attraction to either gender differences as to where I am in my mo(o)nth cycle (I don't keep data but I am validating there is sth to the theory). + As for the brother question ; as a woman I'd say having a brother be a strong respectful gentlemen-like protector can make us spot abusive or neglectful men who are not really into us. I wished for a whole biker gang in hindsight, so also know you can never give her enough support in her feeling empowered (and not taking shit). If she gets that positive attention instead of negative one where you scare her for the chance of assault because she's pretty, she won't feel empowered to kick a guy in the balls if she gropes her --so (to get ironic and jokey but still serious here) man up and stop worrying and start trusting your sister !!! + on subconscious reactivity : I don't have social media and I am still alive :-)! So I'd love a hermit, yet tribe access is necessary for us women to have that familiarity with men and that feedback-guarantee for social status. + What hoe_math keeps alluding to is the Vedic model of the mind, where you can become an observer of your thoughts instead of believing you are your thoughts. Journalling helps you establish this ability, but for extroverts a good listening and non-judgmental friend or partner is preferable, I think. As long as you become aware of yourself, you will also be better at having boundaries with women and making us feel like you are a strong, safe and stable factor in our life. + female=anima & male=animus, so this depends on ones own inner percentage/level of wholeness.

    Love the reference to 50 shades of grey. I had absolutely no interest in seeing this movie as a man, but I decided to recently watch it to see what women like since it was obviously marketed to women. I was surprised that they picked Jamie Dornan as the main character, a guy that is only 5' 10" which is just 3 inches taller than the actress Dakota Johnson.
    He is is also fairly slim without big muscles, although very trim and fit in this movie.
    I would have expected a muscular 6' 3" guy, as the actor is shirtless in a lot of the movie and they could have picked anyone they wanted.
    So maybe just being very fit and taller than the woman is enough.
    Of course he was very well dressed, and was a billionaire in the movie, and acted how women would want, but that would have been the same for any other actor.
    I have been lifting weights my whole life and have been a personal trainer at one point, and I just don't have the genetics for big muscles.
    I have about the same height and build as this actor in this movie, so I found it very encouraging that my physique may be enough.

    Just because I can’t afford a McLaren, or Ferrari, that doesn’t mean I can’t tell the difference between a Honda Civic, and one of those two super cars. It’s also obvious if a girl is a Honda Civic, but she’s claiming to be a McLaren…and because of that, It shouldn’t matter what the guy looks like. Any man, whether that woman is in his league or not, can have an opinion about her looks.
    That same man might go from scraps to dating supermodels in 10yrs, yet, he has the exact same rational opinion about woman’s looks and sexual past, at both times. As a man, we are able to accurately assess women whether they’re better looking than us, or not.
    And lastly…if an ugly guy is saying that girl is a 5, and a good looking guy says she’s a 5, it should be the less attractive guys opinion that holds more weight. It would be like Shaq trying to figure out how tall Tom Cruise is by height. But since he’s my same height, I can easily tell he’s on my level…and it works the same with looks.

    We men try to logically explain why women cheat, but I strongly believe they do it impulsively and completely based on they current emotional taste, with little to no logic behind it.

    Why do women gravitate towards bad boys? Because your partner being good with a blade benefits you, so long as he keeps it pointed at other people.

    I'll have to agree to a certain extent with Macken on the sampling bias. You can say that you are dealing with a representative sample on these shows but let's be real. If you had a show with reasonable women that aren't the products of an insane culture you would have a very boring show and not much viewership. So whether you are doing it purposely or not there's incentive to bring out the dregs.

      Honestly all math is saying is start by getting in as close to peak physical shape for the capability of your body as you can. I'd also suggest to look at all the attributes in the "bad boy" section of Zones with focus on your weaknesses (make sure you don't suck so much in any of them that it kills attraction). If you have a skill you can effectively compete on and can be performed to women, develop it and perform it (but not at the expense of physical condition and appearance - that comes first). You will notice a difference in your interactions in a year if you apply yourself to it. If it looks like attraction, take the next minimal step naturally. If it's rejected, step back and be ok with it. It's possible you can take a different minimal step later. That's it, thank me later.

    Religion. Belief in and reverence for God. Like it or not, organized religion was a part of the social fabric that held people together enough to develop civilization. Nietzsche seems to be right. We're watching humanity attempt to find something to fill a God sized hole in society. We're not there, not even close, and I doubt we ever will come close. Odd to think that enlightenment and "moving beyond God" would spell the end of civilization, but here we are.
