I'm mostly anti-green, but not because I think its overly dangerous, but because I work with numerous young people who I see wasting their lives and money on it daily, and are all either being groomed by gangs by being given free weed, or are going to be made homeless because they spend all their time smoking it instead of looking for jobs or finishing education. However, I'm more than aware that this isn't the case for everyone, and not every stoner is a loser (although the biggest losers I know are all stoners).
But I'd still never go to such extremes, ultimately its your choice if you smoke it, and its your choice if you waste your life on it, or just do it with friends once in a while.
But the behaviour of his girlfriend is unacceptable.

Honestly, I kinda blame the guy in this scenario. Why was he dating her in the first place if he knew she was so against smoking and he wanted to keep smoking with his friends? Sounds like they were just incompatible and he lied to her instead of moving on to someone else. She has a right to prefer people who don't smoke. He's the one who intentionally withheld that information, so he can hardly be surprised that she was pissed when she found out.

I think killing someone for smoking is a bit intense, but I think the crazy part was meant to be the girlfriend forcing her boyfriend to drop all contact with the friend and move out from his living situation because she found out about the cigarette. I agree, drugs are an instant no for me personally too, but I'm not going to make someone change their whole life for my personal preference after such a short relationship

This was not a boundary. A boundary is something you do for yourself in response to someone else's actions. A boundary is if you do this, I will do that. A boundary does not control anyone but yourself.
This girl is crazy and all she did was try and control him. She told him to break it off because of a cig. She has no right to tell him to break that friendship.
A boundary would be if you associate yourself with people that smoke, I will not be with you. What she did was throw a 2 year old tantrum and tell him he had to stop being his friend.

To be honest, they're both quite sucky. He crossed such an important boundary of hers and lied to her. But that's not when you try to force an adult man who makes his own decisions to cut friends out of his life because they're 'a bad influence', - that's when you break up. No, it's not. I live in Oregon, where it's legal. And my grandma smokes it all the time. And she does just fine. Cigarettes and alcohol are a lot worse than weed, yet they're legal everywhere. I think the major part of the issue is not that he did something she's heavily against before meeting her, but that he didn't tell her about it or break up with her upon finding out her view on the matter. He hid the truth, which is quite a red flag, because who knows what other deal breaking secrets he might have? It's more about damaged trust than it is about weed, in my opinion.
