My neighbor that I was working for at the time won the "$25,000 a year for life" lottery and he still lives in the same trailer with the same stuff around him... My adult version is that I always thought my grandparents marriage was a real life fairy tale. Married for 62 years, slept in the same bed, flirted and held hands. My grandmom would give great relationship advice all the time. She passed away last year. My granddad started dating a month later and remarried within 6 months. I now see that my granddad was a controlling man who needs someone to fawn over his ego… and my grandmom was never actually healed from her traumatic childhood and just needed someone to make her feel valuable. Doesn’t mean their relationship wasn’t still good for them… but it wasn’t the sunshine and rainbows I believed it to be. She put up with a lot of crap from him and hid it spectacularly. I lost both my grandparents when she died.

You have medical experts and then you have business/finance experts, and for some reason it’s the business/finance experts who decide what medical treatment is or ISN’T necessary for a patient.
