Congrats! How was your experience at Duke as a black student if you don't mind me asking? I'm a senior looking into some Ivy League schools and Duke happens to be on my list!
+Tracia Boston especially since she is so .identifiable ! we need her on TV so that our young can see themselves and know there is a chance for me, even other adults going through a hopeless situation they need to know that other people survived and pulled through
I can really relate to this girl chat because when my dad was in university, he got good grades and someone said to him one day, "How are you so smart if you came from Africa?" Like race doesn't matter, being determined to learn does.
+Zara. I'll never forget when I passed my exit exam and a friend of mines failed and hse had the audacity to get mad at me because she failed and go "Ugh, how did your stupid ass pass! I think that machine graded my test wrong" That really hurt me because I studied hard for that test and I comforted her when she found out she failed, but instead she turns around and chews me out and underestimate my intelligence.
+Zara. That's the type of thing that leads minorities to suffer from having Imposter Syndrome. We always have to work twice as hard to go just as far and then, we find that our efforts are questioned even when we work our asses off. People like the Abby girl are always astonish that their White skin and their mediocre efforts aren't enough and try to throw the blame back on minorities who are actually putting in the effort and doing the work.
so freaking stupid with them, I bet they didn't know the smartest most educated people in the US are Nigerian Immigrants, America id such a freaking joke, even so called 3rd world countries have better education than Americans.
This clip touched my heart. a professor in college told me I wouldn't get into med school or grad school and I should do something else not academic. I left there crying and could not understand why he would say such things to me. Then I remembered the difference in our skin. I am damn proud to say that i am currently halfway through Med school and doing very well. I set my own standards and aim to excel. Don't let the haters define you. my motto is "if you aim for the moon you may land amongst the stars but you may also get the damn moon" I'm halfway to my Moon and it's looking bright.
Livana Koznesoff I can't even imagine what must have gone through your mind and heart when that professor said that. But I'm glad to hear that you didn't let it deter you from pushing on in your education. You go ahead and get that education and graduate with your head held high. Who know years from now said professor might just show up at YOUR practice for medical help. Wouldn't that be something...
Even though people of different colors other than white still have to pushed their way out of the labels and stagma that they were position in from genaration of bandages and damage mindset of who they are or are not. All races was made by God because he took pleasures in creating beautiful colors . a white convas without colors on it is useless. And blank. Lots of people when they died will be in shocked when they encounter who God truly is. Thats why is stated all over the bible no man can see God and live because they will make God into an idol which will cause more hate for races than it is already. God is all the colors of the rainbow and so much more💕
Currently working on my masters in education. Everything being said here is true! The school to prison pipeline is very real! Every single child is FULL of potential, we as a society need to fight for the children who have for so long been left behind and ignored. Tupac said it best "you wouldn't ask why a rose that grows in concrete has damaged petals, on the contrary...we would all celebrate its tenacity and will to reach the sun"
+candiwax girl me too. I just completed my first semester last week. I decided to go back to school for my son. once I got my bachelor's degree, I showed my son my degree and told him he needs to get a degree too.
Carena Smith that is so amazing! i went back to school when I found out I was pregnant too :) my son is 3 now! Im sure your son will be a successful, intelligent man because he has a mother who has shown him the way and given him something to be inspired by!

Growing up , Mom would get on my nerves talking about me going to university all the time and said it was her dream to see me graduate. She grew up in Ethiopia and never had that apportunity and it frustrated her that I didn't really value how lucky I was. Finally graduated this year with a great job offer and I wouldn't have done it without her pushing me. Parents please set those high standards, despite the odds LOOKING like they're against your children.
Sushi Is My Style as a college graduate, we makes mistake with grammar. my English professor said to me that even college professors make some of the worst grammar errors. so stop judging
@@laurenabk4782 actually, we might have even less of an opportunity. I’m African, my parents are refugees, and I was born and raised in the hood. My family is dirt poor, but we make our bills. My momma told me herself that if I don’t get a big ass scholarship or a full-ride, I’m not going to college. I might go to a community college, but those ain’t cheap either. I’m a junior in high school and I’m working 2 part time jobs T.T I’ll give it up to my African American brother and sisters, but don’t do our struggle dirty. We fighting the same war. We ain’t all Prince Akeem. Anyways, I might still be a bit uneducated going to a Black charter school, but I’m gonna keep it at that. I’m not trying to start no drama though. Let’s thrive together ✊🏾 (also I realized that I’m replying two years late)
Thank you for emphasizing the importance of an education and for being an inspirational example for low income youth who are at risk of not going to college. Please keep supporting the importance of an education with your time and your fame. I hope you read this Loni. I agree with you that it is such an eye opening experience that makes one strive to improve one's life and others around. Much love from an honors college student and president of an honor society who came from a low income, crime stricken neighborhood.
I can relate to Loni ! I am in college the first in my immediate family to attend and I can honestly say thank you God ! I am an open minded individual , with a diverse mindset, and opportunities set forth ! I am also biracial . So when I think about how far I have gotten closer to my dreams compared to the projects with drug dealing ...daily homicides. I am grateful for my struggle in college. I try to push others to think the same about succeeding in life and not being closed minded . Education is key if it's from the white man or you're self taught just enlighten
Seeing this vulnerable side of Loni made me love her even more. hugs and kisses girl. Thank you for caring about our education system and inspiring people, especially those that come from nothing, to be something.
and I was just complaining about how hard school is... this really made me realize how fortune I am to have an education and a good one at that Thank God
This is so real!... Scholarships and inner city diversity programs are why I was the first in the family to graduate from college and why I now work for in international billion dollar firm
You ARE supposed to be there, Loni! ALL of you deserve it! We can indeed succeed with positive attitude and hard work. Oh, and by the way, I'm a Black woman, a graduate of Columbia University, and I graduated in the top 10% of my class. So take, THAT, Scalia!
i'm actually trying to apply to Columbia. I'm a high school student(latina) and I was wondering if possible, if you can give me some tips on how to get in. It's really amazing that you had the opportunity to attend that prestigious university. That is my dream, to attend Columbia.
Loni's words ring so true! I dare someone try to underestimate me. As the child of two immigrants from Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere, my parents grew up with very little. But they stressed education as the way to liberate yourself from the shackles of poverty. My parents achieved it, and they encouraged me to go beyond even what they could achieve for me. So I busted my both throughout my whole public school experience, took every AP & Honors class I could fit in high school, graduated in the Top 10 of my class, got accepted into some of the most prestigious universities in the country, and right now as a student in NYU i'm pursuing my master's degree. Anyone that generalizes "black people don't do well in college of a higher standard ", please, have several seats. There are black students across the country going above and beyond the status quo.
Loni is such a sweethearted soul. I can relate to her on so many levels. We need more positive, genuine and intelligent role models like her in our community. #Respect
It hurts me when people say things like "blacks aren't as smart as whites" because growing up right outside of Flint, I've seen it first hand. People cannot know what they aren't taught. I was so fortunate to go to a good school here, especially one who had teacher who were passionate about the arts and it shows. Even taking away the race issue here, I saw the productions that my school put on. I was in choir from 5th-12th grade, I was in the musicals, I loved to perform and my teachers were incredible. But I'd go to the next town over and watch their plays and it was painful to me. It was like they weren't taught or werent taught well and their sets weren't done well. These students had potential that they weren't reaching because they didn't have a teacher who was passionate about teaching them. And that's the issue in schools that are primarily black, only it's not the teachers faults. It's lack of funding and lack of supplies and books. But those kids have potential, it's just not able to be met because of the way this country treats them and it breaks my heart.
I can relate to loni 100% growing up with a mom who worked 2 jobs I was a latch key kid. Oprah raised me!!! As funny as it may sound i learned a lot from her she was my role model.
Thanks Loni , I really needed to hear this today... I could see myself in u and that's something that is priceless. God bless u and I appreciate your concern
Is it only me that feels like the people that always try to make people laugh be really emotional and going through things. I just feel like loni goes through a lot that we don't know about and she's a real genuine person. I love her
oooommmmgggg Loni has me crying like a baby over here! As a young black woman currently pursuing higher education I know exactly how she feels! I went to inner city schools and I came from a rough neighborhood, so I know the struggles of not having the connections, the money, or just basic information on how to get into a good university. I don't take education lightly because it's often the only way out of this crazy cycle. I don't take anything for granted, and I just thank God for having mercy on me.
I'm glad I just saw this. I just graduated with my Bachelors in journalism a month ago and Loni is giving me hope. Someday, i'll have my own show on tv, too.
I truly love this show! These ladies are respectable and respectful grown-ups!! And it breaks my soul to know that members of the highest ranking court could still be of the mind that any race of people could be considered sub-par in inteigence!!! You women are an inspiration! ALL young people should hear what you have to say!!!
Loni made me cry!!! I love her honesty and the fact that she's an example. I hope that people of colour in Europe will get more opportunities to become an example.
Aww this made me cry. It's sad that people think so highly of themselves that they don't take the time to acknowledge how their privilege has helped them. I didn't grow up rich, but I was blessed with a mother and family that told me I could do whatever I wanted if I worked hard. Although I am working my tail off in school to become a lawyer one day, I know that it is because of the love and support of those around me that allow me to have this much drive. I try to encourage everyone to get an education and do the very best they can do. Sometimes you can inspire and help someone just through your life. I know that sometimes it helps if someone just tells you that they are proud of you. Long post, but God bless you all.
Shawn saint I know but she always talks as if Cheetah Girls was her first gig. While she was in 3LW for years and had major success with them. I think it depends on age though. People such as myself know her from 3LW while I noticed the younger kids don't even know what 3LW is. They only know her from Disney. Either way, she's dope. I've been a fan since her 3LW days till now.
Amma Appiah she's definitely dope its just after they did naturi wrong the success stopped and drama occurred all three of them could've did cheetah girls together but naturi mainly blamed kiely's mother\sister
God bless Loni heart. She made me tear up. Children are our future and I love that she wants to show that you can make your dreams come true no matter what circumstances your in. Loni you have a beautiful soul.
+Stephanie Capone so different from France for example . We only pay 200-500€ per year to go in public university , and the privateschool are not the better . But you can go there for free too. So 85% of gratuated in High school go to university or college.
+jessilicious243 That's because America is super greedy. They do whatever it takes to get the best students just for the profit that they will get from the students. America is grown upon money and greed.
U guys should check out the educational system in Algeria, or Africa in general. America is a dream when it comes to education, compared to what we have.
because I'm black i tried 50x as hard and got myself into Duke. I'm still paying off college loans but I did that!

I love Auntie Loni!! She should start a charity if she hasn't already.
Loni damn it you made me cry!! The sky is truly the limit no matter what color you are !
Loni looked still looked beautiful when she cries 💖
PREACH LONI! She was speaking some mad truth as well as the rest of the ladies too. I agree with everything they said wholeheartedly.
I LOVE LONI she has
beauty , intelligence , and humour
THE WHOLE PACKAGE
Literally crying!! you're so right Loni! Love all you girls & thank you for always keeping it REAL!! :) 👌 💯 ❤
This entire season these ladies have been on point with the topics and just so genuine. They keep it REAL and i love all these ladies
Sending you love Loni and hope your message touches a little kid to dream and work hard...God bless you for being yourself.
alicia keys was valedictorian graduated 2 years early and got a scholarship to Columbia
PureSparkles22 mixed with white
Michael Charalambous that’s not the point lol she’s not looked at as a white woman, she’s looked at as a black woman.
@@starzrock620 she has the features of a tanned white european woman, not that of a west african woman
@@sergeygladkov1718 Ok. Maybe that’s how y’all view her on Russia. In America, she is considered Black.
@@sergeygladkov1718 In South Africa she is viewed as a black American.
Seeing this vulnerable side of Loni made me love her even more. hugs and kisses girl. Thank you for caring about our education system and inspiring people, especially those that come from nothing, to be something.
Preach Jeannie! She's my favorite co host now.
and I was just complaining about how hard school is... this really made me realize how fortune I am to have an education and a good one at that Thank God
This is so real!... Scholarships and inner city diversity programs are why I was the first in the family to graduate from college and why I now work for in international billion dollar firm
Adrienne and Loni's comments were soooo insightful and moving. Thank you!
The person with the highest IQ is a an African American teenager
@@ed-pq1nk Stop generalizing and looking at statistics so much black people get lowered scores because we get lower education in this white America.
Well Damn👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
love loni, she's like the coolest, most loving and inspirational auntie 💓
You ARE supposed to be there, Loni! ALL of you deserve it! We can indeed succeed with positive attitude and hard work. Oh, and by the way, I'm a Black woman, a graduate of Columbia University, and I graduated in the top 10% of my class. So take, THAT, Scalia!
i'm actually trying to apply to Columbia. I'm a high school student(latina) and I was wondering if possible, if you can give me some tips on how to get in. It's really amazing that you had the opportunity to attend that prestigious university. That is my dream, to attend Columbia.
This was great Real co hosts for being a voice for the voiceless. And thx u Loni for your tears which means to so many a heart of caring .
I love how Adrienne says latina!!!💖💖 but Loni makes me cry because she really cares about our education, thank you loni❣❣❣
Loni has my heart!!! And my respect!
I Love Loni ! She has such a good heart !
I can relate to loni 100% growing up with a mom who worked 2 jobs I was a latch key kid. Oprah raised me!!! As funny as it may sound i learned a lot from her she was my role model.
Preach, ladies. From my personal perspective, every single person is definitely equally smart and hardworking as the other one.
the real is so positive and I love them!!!!
Loni had me in tears for real! ❤️ I love when she opens up like this and we relate
Every word they speak, I just want to thumbs up.
I love Loni so much! She's so amazing and she's my favorite. 😌
I love this show so much. A lot of people on talk shows and tv in general, don't portray their real feelings on these issues.
I truly love this show! These ladies are respectable and respectful grown-ups!! And it breaks my soul to know that members of the highest ranking court could still be of the mind that any race of people could be considered sub-par in inteigence!!! You women are an inspiration! ALL young people should hear what you have to say!!!
Loni omg, THIS MADE ME CRY!!!
How could you not love loni love!!!! So sweet and genuine!
Loni you look amazing, please keep the braids, gorgeous !
We all deserve success and to live good. You are supposed to be there Loni ❤️
Wow this is the first time I've heard Adrienne reference 3LW.
She's talked about them several times in season 1.
Oh ok . I missed that.
she don't talk to them
Shawn saint I know but she always talks as if Cheetah Girls was her first gig.
Loni you have a beautiful soul.
they sound so intellectual without tamar..i like it better this way:)
IKR?
wtf? no.
+Ooster! yaaas bitch yassss!
LMAO OMG YES and just less ratchet
they sound really good without Tamar cause Everytime if they talk Tamar only putting in she mouth when they talking bout something different
I love how warming, passionate, and heart warming loni is its great for the show, and to connect with
I can't believe the schoolsystem in America wow !!
+Stephanie Capone so different from France for example . We only pay 200-500€ per year to go in public university , and the privateschool are not the better . But you can go there for free too. So 85% of gratuated in High school go to university or college.
is the USA supposed to have the best everything?
Where did i say that it's only in America?
+jessilicious243 That's because America is super greedy. They do whatever it takes to get the best students just for the profit that they will get from the students. America is grown upon money and greed.
I LOVE this show, I LOVE the diversity of the hosts on this show.
Loni and Tamara cry in this show so much and I soOoo get it now! They had to be Cancers like me😢 They make me cry all the time too!!!
I just want to hug you, Loni. You deserve to be there because you are so wonderful.
WOW!!!!! Now I am about to cry. I have never seen Loni cry. I am in tears here :.-(
This is the side of Loni that I LOVE she's so real and passionate when she talks about her upbringing and education

the struggle is real
Loni, my love, you’re such a beautiful soul ❤️
I like Loni she is a very intelligent woman and tells it like it us.
Loni is such a beautiful person inside and out ! I love you !!
Adrienne's hair looks so bomb like that
I felt those tears Loni. She is an inspiration to so many of us.
U guys should check out the educational system in Algeria, or Africa in general. America is a dream when it comes to education, compared to what we have.
Loni is too pure for our country im so honored to recieve her wisdom in any way tysm
