  • As promised, these next few weeks I will be releasing new music! Starting with "The Never Ending Ascent".
This piece is a sort of remembrance of my past trip to Japan. I stayed there for 2 months and a few weeks after I came back I found myself composing this track. It was such a beautiful experience and I felt a little bit like I was dreaming all the time. It was magical. I think that might be the word to describe it.
Also... Yes... Those are whales you can hear in the background. It's is a weird choice I know, but that was what it felt like at times; when you are strolling around in the vastness of every city or village or forest in Japan; or when you are is the shinkansen traveling from place to place... You feel like you are underwater in the middle of the ocean, swimming amongst whales.

Tomás, I literally stopped dead in my tracks as I listened to this. It was like I was holding my breath for four and a half minutes. The intricate sounds (including the whales) definitely added a dreamlike, magical quality with the strings just relentlessly tugging on my emotions. For me it felt like those moments when you meet something/someone with such beauty and you just don't want that experience to end...a prolonged suspension of disbelief. Exquisitely painful. Thank you 🙏
