That sounds like fun, albeit kinda cold to ride in that sort of weather. I'm planning a bike touring trip to Albania from Spain. I've never done bikepacking so I've been watching lots of vids and reading. It's encouraging to hear 1k kms can be done in 4 days. That's far less time than what I thought (was thinking a cpl weeks). I've been trying to calculate the time it would take me to go from Alicante to Albania on the Eurovelo (the one downsouth). My guess is around a month, but not sure if that's too much or too little? If y'all were to set up to biketour all the way from Basel to Tirana, what are your estimates for an ETA there?
Sounds like a nice plan. I think it's impossible to estimate how long it will take you since there are so many factors to consider. Best for you might be to plan a track, optimize it to your needs and then estimate how many hour per day you want to ride and what average speed is realistic with all your gear, different weather conditions and so on. The eurovelos are more touristic, with often a lot of detours and zig-zag so I wouldn't stick to them if I wanted to go fast.
Thanks for the heads up on the Eurovelo, I didn't know it was mainly a touristic route. Would make my trip much longer. Only advantage I can see it's it having bike lanes from what I read. @@flamingofixed
OMG, in the last part of the ride you've made tracklocross !!! Great !!!
And it was one of the nicest sections of the trip too. Even with 25mm tires.
Always good to see fellow pink bike dudes have fun adventures! Super rad! I gotta get out again.
I'm also planning a couple more trips already 😁

You think you could make a video breaking down your gear setup?
There is a video with the complete setup that I used for this trip on the channel. Check out the "bikepacking" playlist.
