Your skill and craftsmanship in making leather and suede are truly commendable. Your dedication to mastering this art form reflects a deep passion for traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail. And I am a floating village life from Vietnam.

Interesting to hear and see, Samuel.
When I was early teens, one of my dad’s hunting buddies gave me a deer hide. I never thought to go the library (no internet back then) to learn how to tan it, and it eventually started rotting so my dad threw it out.
The only thing I had heard about tanning, was from a Native American POV in a fiction story set in the ‘old west’. All I remember is, they used the brains of the animal combined with something else. Well, that led me think I couldn’t do it, and so I never looked further.
Makes me wonder how tanning was first discovered, long ago. Thank you for this.

fantastic video, what did you do differently between the leather and the suede hide. Did you work it more on the post on both sides to make it a suede. cheers

you've been making hide processing videos for good four years and still call yourself a beginner. impossible to judge from the video if the craft is really that intricate, though
