    Exclennet resource once again. As a trainer who took a break after season 3 (kinda lost interest after getting a second Libra Pika) you’re really helping me catch back up. Definitely feel like players are more skilled and knowledgeable now so a breakdown of advance strats is so helpful.

    Bassalax here and I rarely leave a comment on a video.
    As someone who's been to Legend about 4 times now and have hit as high as #64 on the Global Leaderboards I have to admit this is something I never really thought of doing in a match. Like subconsciously and a little bit here and there yeah sure, but not nearly to the extent of immediately deciphering what an opponent's team might be. A day after watching this video and I already can tell you it's made a significant difference in my gameplay! Thanks a bunch and just know you make a huge difference in the community.
    P.S hope I face you again sometime! Still gotta pay you back for that loss 😂

    Thank you for this video. As a fairly new battler your training videos are super helpful. I hit rank 10 in what was between season 5 and 6, I’ve hit Ace in both season 6&7 and I can tell that what needs to improve is my play. No team is going to carry me farther until I can start mastering Typing, charge move timing and predicting what my opponents might be playing.

    You missed an important concept. Early in the video with abamosnow lead, azu and DD. They would not have double water in this team. If they did, they wouldn’t have stayed in with Asnow vs gfisk. They would have swapped because both of the back line are strong to gfisk. The fact that they stayed in means there’s 1 hard counter and 1 neutral/poor matchup. If your opponent swaps their lead Pokemon is also big indicator of what they have in the back.

    • @samamies88
      @samamies88 3 года назад

      Yes and no. They could also build energy "just in case" for short while. Especially when fast attack from opponent is resisted. And then catch (or try to catch) the charge move (which they didn't succeed or attempt this time). Also not sure about not swapping.. if they swapped into water, then Fp swapped a hard counter to farm or keep hard counter in back fighting the 2nd matchup, they still would had had to come back with aboma who would again meet either gfisk or worse counter and their "only last water" would have to meet either the hardcounter if that wasn't used for 1st water or a neutral matchup if hardcounter was used already... and swap timer would had been available so their last water couldn't even be able to farm stunfisk. Yes i know how ABB teams work but no, at high rating the matches don't always play out in the most obvious way. People have started to gain both tactics and "readability" for ABB and people running those teams don't wanna be THAT predictable.

  • @_Amit_Sunil
    @_Amit_Sunil 3 года назад

    The problem with guessing ABB teams from the lead for me is that there's as much chance it is a Rock-Paper-Paper as it could be a Rock-Scissors-Scissors
    Eg - teams like Skarmory Double Grass is RSS where Skarmory protects the two in the back from weakness to flyers, while being hard coverage for grass itself. The grass is meant to help out againts tanks and other anti-flyers.
    But then there's Bastiodon - Double Razorleaf which is RPP, where Basti is meant to cover the razor-leafers weakness to fire/flying/ice types.
    Similarly Hypno - Double Dark, which is RPP where Hypno beats fighting that is a threat to the backline, and the backline in a way protects the Hypno from Ghost types/other Dark types.
    While these feel similar in one case it is about giving extra protection for the lead 'A' in the ABB, while other times the strategy is to let one of the 'B's in ABB sweep.
    So my challenge is when I see a fighter in the lead is it likely he has two steel tanks in the back (that cover charm counters for the fighter) or is the fighter there to protect two charmers in the back from steel type threats.
    A Wigglytuff lead could mean there's two steel in the back, and Charm is meant for fighting threats, or Wigglytuff has two fighters in the back to deal with Steel type walls for its Charm, and strategy is to sweep with two shields etc.
    Hope this makes sense - maybe seeing how soon they switch in lead for a neutral match-up reveals what type of ABB it is?

    put bastiodon at first. If anything go wrong, switch to venusaur immediately.

    You don’t really need a video on this lol. If your playing a former rank 10 or legend standard meta in standard order. Everyone else is a toss up usually non meta and or anti meta with random move set. If I play a rank 10 or legend 7/10 I win the game. If I play anyone else it’s literally 50/50. Very easy to beat anyone running meta. It’s very hard to play against random teams. I do wish players would run more spice I just get so board playing against the same teams. That’s why once you make legend you see so many sac swaps and mind games you know the team as soon as you see the lead.
