you dont need needle nose pliers to install the yokes on traxxas driveshafts. The traxxas trucks comes with a silver tool to push on the yolk so you don't have to mess or weaken the plastic yokes. so smart Pro-Line Racing
I think this build is for entry level dragster racers who just want a drag car to race or practice with and get good steering before upgrading. I think what people miss when racing is practice. My cousin once told me dont even worry about upgrading the car till i can drive the track flawlessly.
This was a factory conversion why’s everyone mad he didn’t do the brushless swap lol.... I think it’s common sense you can just swap it out later but just to get running and use what you have it’s perfect
@@paxtonreffner well thats not the point, i already knew how to build this, but the very first thing you should add for a drag build is a brushless system, it is not a drag car if it doesnt have a brushless system
I’m building the 69 nova with all the proline chassis parts I’m not running any shocks in the front just using links to set the ride hight of the chassis in the front .
I had to pause watching to see if anyone else called that lol . Even the proline guys know that tool is booty to use and hurts the hand . .. easy solution here tho . I repeatedly dipped mine in plasti-dip so it made like a water drop like butt to it .. no more hurting the hand im a friggin genius! Lol

I would be interested in a list where you opted for Pro Line components over Traxxas parts. A reason would be nice as well. Like stronger or better adjustability whatever. Not trying to put you on the spot.
FourDollaRacing actually the transmission of a 2wd slash can’t handle lipo, how to I know, I have a 2wd slash, currently I’m saving for mip driveshafts because traxxas ones can’t handle a 3s
@@reesespeanutbuttercups5548 I have a castle Mamba Max pro with a 2400kv 550xl motor. 3s all the time, and only at the sand dunes. Stock ruslter xl5 transmission, only exception is the spur and pinion, and it's been flawless for five years. Sounds like you just had bad luck

Hi! I'm building right now my first no-prep for my proline Chevy NOVA body and Love all your products!! During the build I found some inconsistencies on parts listed on the link vs proline website list. On body web site states:
Built 2 of these now . And it's cheaper to just order everything and build one. If you buy a slash just to tear down to build one your cost is almost double of a scratch build .
Hey Pro-Line: You have some nice body's, but No Prep drag is not my thing. Scale realism Muscle Cars are though. How about making body kits for Losi Mini and or 22s that have plastic molded chrome bumpers, grills, light buckets both front & back? Traxxis Drag Slash body kits would be great as well.
Seems like it would be cheaper to start out with a Bandit, since it seems like only a couple Slash parts are kept, and they end up using the arms and links from a Bandit
Question on this build - do I need four sets of turnbuckles? Or two? The build list in the description link only has two sets (47mm and 55mm), but it looks like he uses four sets of new turnbuckles. Thanks!!
I have narrow body shells that measure 200 mm wide from wheel well to wheel well. Will this fit that narrow space? Many of my narrow bodies are short bodies, like the Parma '41 Willys, Ford 32 Coupe. Would this build accommodate the short, narrow bodies?
@@jj4013 at high speed the stock front shock tower flexes quite easily I have found that using a stiffer front shock tower even like a nitro rustler one anything stiffer than stock gives you better steering and handling I have noticed
Could you guys make a set of drag racing slicks for 1/10 scale cars. Tires that have a diameter of 2.5” and the rims 2” or 2.2” I’ve been looking for a set of good quality slicks for 1/10 scale cars and just can’t find any
ok so why go with a beefy transmission if you are staying with the brushed system and it pained me to see how you assembled the drive shafts :/ traxxas made a tool for that and it comes with every truck they sell lol

Or you can save alot of money and go to Home Depot and get the Ryobi Cordless Power Driver that's the same thing just different brand. I paid $40 for mine almost 2 years ago and it's still going like a champ.
I'm searching for the pro 2 hinge pin kit for my build online and the only 1 I'm seeing is for slash will those work with the bigger hole for the bandit arm just making sure they will fit before I order.

So am I the only one that noticed his box stock xl5 had bearings installed? I thought xl5 models only used bushings.... and yes should have used a vxl off the bat.
One problem my slash is 11.75 wide all the no prep bodies are 11.5 how do I narrow the rear up my a 1/4 of an inch I put pro line wheels and tires on but the car is a1/4 inch to wide for 90 percent of the bodies
If there any other cheaper options or Drag Slash RTR I have a old slash but I can't see putting 300-400$ into something made to do something else!Its like buying a air plain to build a rocket out of it

Buck Val yea you might need a few parts, I know the rear arms on a slash are shorter and probably a couple other little things but it shouldn’t be too much, I’ve converted between slash, stampede and rustler a few times, it’s a fun change if you can’t afford another truck
Buck Val rear arms and is replace all the plastic links with turnbuckles, I can’t think of what else but if you google stampede to lcg slash you should find a forum that explains it

Hi! No. It is the Traxxas Slash New Chassis LCG, Low Centre Gravity Chassis. He shows that he took it out of the Traxxas package.

You should show all the parts tags with the part numbers in your videos as you use them.

you add all those upgrades and forgot the most important upgrade for that setup, a brushless system

There is a tool in the factory bag for those axle balls so that you dont have to speed out the plastic

I disagree with that axle pivot ball installation.... it’s a tool for that, it may hurt your hand but, it’s the right way.

Rpm arms for bandit, turnbuckles for bandit VXL is beefier, axles for bandit. That's about it.

You need a stiffer front shock tower I use rpm makes a difference at high speed
Are you sure about that, rpm's plastic is softer and more flexable than traxxas

They both suck in my opinion. I had problems with the top screw popping out of my shocks till I switched to aluminum srtrc ones
If i were to use one of the drag bodies on a bone stock wish 2wd not even a conversion, would the body work as a Baja body and not run against it?

Because all Proline parts were purchased wholesale, while all Traxxas parts are a ripoff....duh.
