  • I was, and still am so stoked about this trailer. It just seems to check all the boxes for me, and although hauling a trailer is something I've avoided most of the time, this setup has me re thinking all of that! I could totally live in this, could you?!

That thing is sick. I have never been motivated to buy a camper as they are all made of matchsticks. This thing has changed my mind. Perfect stashable, emergency bug out solution.

I like the first trailer. I wish y’all talked about the weight into capacity because that look like it would fit my Toyota Highlander, which has a car chassis but I’m not sure.

Wow, this is really nice. The bigger one has a horrible lay out. The bigger one isnt comfortable looking at all. Plus, all you ever see is the toilet.
But this!? Yes! Im liking it.

I don't quite understand the debate? I drive in very remote parts of Baja to surf, and if I can afford something as well built and off grid capable as this, why not? I drive on serious off roads, but not always 4 x4. But those roads I drive down seriously tear my Tundra apart, much less my trailer. I'm on my third "off road" trailer in 5 years at the moment, and the sixth busted leaf spring in the last year alone. I put beefed up axle, suspension, etc. for over $5K already. (Kind of like my spinning reel/fishing analogy: I've bought Penn's for 25 years; but spend hundreds of dollars on tune ups and new reels every 12-18 months at the very least. I finally spent the money on a Van Staal, and have had the same reel for 7 years now, and it runs like brand new). Maybe a good idea to spend extra cash up front, and not need to dump $2-3K into the trailer after each trip? And a new trailer every few years . . . And . . . this thing looks bad ass! Not too fancy to attract too much attention down in Mexico. I loved the video, thanks!

Here's what I know about campers. The harder you have to search for a price...the more they cost. If there is no price...It's a ridiculous price. This one starts at $109,000.

They are cool. Not going to be towing any of those with a mid size truck. At least a full size truck and to be much batter a heavy duty truck.

I dident hear about lengths widths or weight which is very important in picking a off road camper so you can know what vehicles can pull them

I wouldn’t make any big purchases on items built between 2019 and the end of 2024. Covid, supply chain issues, computer parts, lack of skilled labor and the list goes on and on. The wife wants a new vehicle, I won’t start looking at those until sometime in 2025 after thorough research of course.

This is a huge step up for Palomino. The dual axel models are to heavy and expensive. So much cost and weight making it off road capable that is to heavy and tall to off road in the real world. Short tounge, black tank and lame one year warranty are the down falls

    Ps.s.
I want to start pushing the envelope in the small expedition (off-road) trailer world...
    4ft Wx6ft L
    3 ft-4 ft tall
Test highspeed ultra4 style push the limit of these POS trailer they sell in name of off road use...
Run race with traler who finishes with a rig/ trailer able to be slept in(on) can be crowned
100% off-road expedition camping (small) trailer
King of the hammer tested (maybe not full rock course)
Then we can compare a off-road trailer to something worthy!
    Sincerely
    BSR

These things are pretty pointless. They don't fit on a lot of off-road trails, and they're way too overpriced. It makes more sense to just buy a regular trailer for $20k and leave it at the campground while you go off-roading.

    • @goodviibes8573

You are 100% right imagine having that big ass 6x6 what trail are you going to take it on maybe in the desert somewhere idk and just imagine if you get it stuck how the flying F are you going to get it out… maybe call heavy d but you’ll prob pay 10k to get it unstuck 200 miles in the middle of no where. Honestly I think down2mobs jeep is super capable but even then I don’t think it would survive the rubicon trail and that’s what it looks like it could handle. Maybe with some winches and a lot of damage he might make it through not trying to hate just the reality of his build and everyone else we mentioned. I think one of the best setups would be a 3500 diesel with a cab over and towable trailer with your 4x4 rig on it. That’s just my opinion. Even the roof top tents seem like a pain in the butt every time you want to go somewhere you have to pretty much pack everything up. They sound super practical but then you start to think about it and they truly aren’t. Not to mention how top heavy they make your rig. Comment if you think I’m an idiot bc I know ppl are lol. Trust me you wont hurt my feelings but I don’t go down without a fight lol

@@goodviibes8573 I have a go fast camper on my Gladiator and a regular Forest River trailer. I think that's the most optimal setup you can have. I can fit on any off-road trail and it's super easy to set up and pack up my rooftop tent. And if I'm staying in one area for a while, I'll bring my trailer and leave it at the campground.

I have driven many many miles offroad where this trailer would be happy to be towed behind the right rig, where a standard RV quality trailer would fall apart. If going to a campground is your thing, go for it. But that’s not overlanding, thats offroading like you said. You can’t drive continuously offroad across a state when your always going back somewhere. That’s weekender stuff

    • @goodviibes8573

@@Down2Mob I’m confused with what overlanding is??? Sounds like you could overland with a four door sedan if it had a roof top tent. Why build a truck with 40’s if you’re not going to take off road on some sick trials ? Please take your time to answer my question. I’m sure it’s going to take a while. Most ppl overland in a van 🚐 you have a fully locked gladiator with Dana 60’s bro??? I’m so confused 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Hey Phil I love your channel and for the most part I love your videos. Your enthusiasm is captivating and contagious. But these infomercials are lame. Get back into the backcountry and do what you do best. And I know, you have to make a buck. Just do what you do so well. These infomercials are not you.
