And to help me fix some of the problems with it your channel has been very helpful and i am so thankfull to you for showing us all on how to do things, and what to look for. the tt is a great car. and with your help we can all make it even better than it used to be.

great video .. 78 year old ex 1980 Donnington gt champion . my 2008 Citroen C5 2l hdi is suffering a lack of power . It starts and runs great ..BUT show it a hill / steep gradient and it falls flat .. with almost no performance . It will get to 3000 rpm eventually but has no get up and go .I have given the MAF sensor a good clean . ,There was some improvement . but the out and out umph is still lacking . A friendly local garage owner plugged in his diagnostic tool and a turbo or lack of expected turbo was diagnosed .. Great tip on the 20lbs inch pressure testing . Common sense really but nevertheless an invaluable tip.
Hey dom. Finally watchinv your vids again(been working away) brilliant stuff yet again. Glad your doing well and so you know I wear my parrott bro's cap all over the place with pride 😀 👍
Just take off from the turbo the boost side pipe. Dont use the intake manifold before the turbo, because is never pressurized and a old turbo will blow a lot of oil in your catalytic system (next to shaft)and you will smoking crazy and may shot your catalytic converter.
@marcooconnor yes you are right but you blow lot of oil in the catalisator. Normal the turbo have pressure from the exhaust gas side and the air side at same time,so is will not leak. But when you blow 20psi only at one side, then slowly oil will go in the catalisator and it will be clogged.
Hi Dom. great video and inspired me to make my own pressure tester, not quite as fancy as yours (Mrs’ old moisturiser container). I also blocked the pipe going to the throttle body, no obvious leak but air is rushing out of the intake manifold (past the butterfly valve). Any ideas as I’m stumped. Thanks
i made my self a smoke machine a few years back was pretty good i might give this method a try. spray bottle with soapy water would also help find the air leak
Hi - is the breather pipe that runs from the bottom of the PRV Hockey Puck Valve the same size on the 180 and the 225 or does it differ like the turbo intake does? Thanks
Its the pipe that goes to the brake booster, usually its only listed as a vacuum pipe, had a quick look but could not find a part number, im sure they are not made anymore and you either have to source a replacement second hand of fix what you have. thanks Dom
Hey what is that 3 way pipe called I have a tiny rip on mine from someone tightening it too much I have tried to just cut it a bit and push it in farther works for now but wanna replace it
Hi, so i have a suspected a boost leak, followed your video with the air pressure test, and it does not hold pressure... cant hear any leaks apart from a bubbling sound coming from the engine... this was yesterday. so today i had delivered a cylinder pressure tester and it read 175 175 185 and 185 any idea where this bubble sound may be coming from lol ?
The bubbling sound is normal, my car also does the same but hard to pick up in the video, it should build up pressure so there might be a good possibilty you have a leak somewhere but its not easy to hear, are you using a compressor? if so maybe get a second person to operate it while you feel your way around the pipes and joints
Hi! When I put pressure on my Audi TT, a bubbling sound also appears that seems to come from the engine, it is as if oil were bubbling. Have you solved it? Is it worrying? Thank you so much.@@TheParrottBros
@@miguelbelloso1495comes from the turbo oil seals some air is passing directly into the oil pan and its bubbling from under the oil level and it's completely normal since air is less dense than oil so it can pass
hi Dom, great informative video. I will be doing this process very soon. I've got david to 3d print me off the TIP bung. But where did you get the hockey puck bung please?
I could not say for sure as it's not something I have tried in the past it depends if the chemicals will cause any damage to the inside of the engine/pipework

The air before the turbo is not pressurised but it's is measured by the MAF so you should be testing for leaks

The pcv system has pipes that attach to the inlet manifold so thats probably why buddy
Thanks dude, I was certain I had a boost leak as it’s not all that quick (I know it’s only a 180) and sounds like an old air cooler vw under boost!
May I ask what stops the air passing into the intake manifold and into the exhaust via valves depending on the position of the crank and camshaft ?
Pressurizing just into the TIP can identify all boost leaks and all vacuum leaks in the entire engine?
Great video , would like links to the bungs if you can some time .
In the process of getting something sorted ( someone to print them and a way of linking people to him )
Good job mate I might have ago at this 👍
I have a question. When doing leak test nothing visible for leak but pressure not build. Isit possible that exhaust valves are open? Im new on this.
Does all cars have the part that comes off the turbo intake pipe? The smaller plug, following your guide and we have diff cars. Thank you on advance!
Great video

Hi - is the breather pipe that runs from the bottom of the PRV Hockey Puck Valve the same size on the 180 and the 225 or does it differ like the turbo intake does? Thanks
Hey great video! What's the pipe on the left hand side you had a hole in called? I have the same problem. Thanks

wouldn’t the BOV open when doing these test?
If you removed the oil cap instead you wouldn't need to do anything to the puk to protect the rocker cover, right?
Yes, but then all the air you pump in will just leak back out of there.
Legend 👌
thanks 😎
very nice mustache
Thanks 😅

hi Dom, great informative video. I will be doing this process very soon. I've got david to 3d print me off the TIP bung. But where did you get the hockey puck bung please?
You ideally want a 19mm bung and to cap the system off by taking the three way pipe off the rocker cover rather than doing what i did with the puck

Would gas leak detection spray work on this?
