At 10,009 miles the maintenance minder just popped up with A16. First hybrid we have owned, so we were not expecting the diff fluid. My wife already had the engine oil, so maybe ill do the oil change then go get gaskets and fluid for the diff. Video is very helpful, thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial. Awesome video. Can you update the part number for the seals and oil? Also maybe a link to the tool on amazon. Thank you brother.
I actually needed this, thanks! The dealership recommended me to change the rear differential fluid at 10k miles, but it was too expensive so I turned them down.
My 2023 CRV gave me the A16 code after about 8K miles in about a year after buying the car. Jiffy lube charged $149.99 to change the rear differential fluid! I wish I saw this video a couple of hours ago. 😅
Actually Honda recommends that the first differential fluid change be done at that mileage. I'm guessing because it's a new car. After that, I believe it's every 30K miles.
Hi, where do you get your repair information from? I need to do a transmission service and “GT coolant service” on mine and I’m finding only information on 2022 and before CRV hybrids
The only thing I don't about that e- cvt double clutch they told me there is no transmission on new honda crv hibryd..if you can explain me please thanks
Whoever told you is wrong they do have 3 Gear transmission. . It works differently than your standard CVT. Chinese market have their own CRV that resemble totally different transmission thrn in US. They have no gears at all and it's pretty much a gear box between electric and gas.
hi, im interested to get this car as well, but wondering how much will be the cost in future to replace the inverter, the clutch or even the two motors if in any case they break down
I was looking to buy new 24 honda crv I don't how reliable there are you can tell me plus ther have rear differential so you have to change oil which is 200 $
They're very reliable, rear differential only on a Hybrid models. And all-wheel drive models :) it's super simple to change differential oil, you can go to any shops. Just make sure they use OEM differential fluid. This job will not cost you $200
@@IvanRossS As long as he put the correct amount of fluid back in which he did, which is 1.3 US QT or 1.2L as per Honda Specs. He torqued all of his bolts properly, new washers, clean job. Well done
You need to look into it deeply because hybrid models with all-wheel drive do not resemble same CVT transmission that you will find on 1.5 L engines. It's a 3-speed transmission totally different !!!
Is the differential here similar to others in that you fill it up until it starts to pour out? Or is it a strict 1.31 quarts? My A16 is up at 9800 miles. Seems that the first diff fluid change is pretty early. Thanks so much for the video!
Not strict at all lol. Just full up untill it starts pouring out. Very easy. Just like on every differential. And yes it pretty early for a first change, i agree. But that's what Honda wants.
It comes up early because the MM is designed to get you to do the service at your next visit to the service center so you don’t miss it. If it triggered at 15k on the dot you prob won’t go in until your B1 service which will make it overdue
I'm not talking bad about honda I love honda crv specialy till 2017 the best 2.5 engines but I was told every 15 000 miles rear differential and 25 000 miles transmission that's a lot that 450 $ service that's a lot..
It's not every 15,000. It's only for the first time and then every 30,000. So your second change will be so the second change will be at 45k. Third will be at 75k. Not to bad at all.
No... first time you replace at 15k then every 30k. Just Because you you have to replace differential fluid every 30000 you going to trash a whole car .???..... well non hybrid model will not have differential. Its not AWD
You are very very ignorant. All differentials should have a early change but nobody recommends it . They all have break in material that should get out.

I suggest you first remove the fill plug before removing the drain plug. That way you assure you can put fluid in the car before draining it.
This. You're in for a bad day if you cant fill it back up.

As always, detailed and clear! Thank you! No questions🙂
Thank's Ivan for another how to video for us hands on guys.
Great video, I only have a front wheel drive but I enjoyed the video
Excellent video. !!!
Thank you your video 👍
Thank you This is very helpful to me.
You are correct, both the filler and drain plugs for the rear differential are 35 lb * ft
Great video! What about the transfer case and is there an air filter for the hybrid battery that needs to be replaced?
I actually needed this, thanks! The dealership recommended me to change the rear differential fluid at 10k miles, but it was too expensive so I turned them down.
At 10k wow... that's way to early
@@IvanRossS Yep... also this looks pretty easy, similar to oil change. I know the dealer charges per hour, but they wanted almost $200
@@onobonono damn. Here in Wilmington NC they wanted $120

I think the new design of crv are beatiful and lots room inside

Does that model take transmission oil or is it completely electric?
Do you know if resetting the rear differential fluid in the infotainment screen also resets the engine oil life?
It will not
Do you know how to perform the carbon buildup cleaning on this 2023 Honda crv hybrid.
I use Gumout. Just put it tank every 15k or so. I have not done it yet with my car, actually already at 20k. Just in 1 year

Are you using 3/8 socket plug on both of them?
Sorry for late reply... didn't see message, but yes! it's just 3/8 adapter

Car should be level when jacked up for changing all your fluids.
It's not the required for little bitty differential... it's not so picky like transmission. Having 10 oz less or more will not hurt at all

Did you put all the liquid in both bottle in the differential ?
Lol yes. 1 whole bottle and second bottle just 3rd of it, to make 1.3 quarts 😂😂😂
Plus the cvt transmission belt I dont know about that

They want it replaced often enough early on, because they are still on the hook until warranty expires. After that, they could give a hoot.
Yes and no. This is very small differential it is very thin fluid and it works all the time because it's all-wheel drive
Shouldn't the car be level when you're adding the fluid?
No. Not for differential fluid!!
