- Despite the Federal Government's initiation of a 15-day emergency fuel supply to release about 300 million litres of petrol, severe fuel scarcity persists nationwide. Consequently, major marketers are urging the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority to extend the emergency fuel supply for another two weeks. Amid the ongoing crisis, with fuel prices soaring to about 1,000 per litre in some cities, marketers assert that the emergency supply must continue for the next two weeks until petrol is readily available across the country. Meanwhile, NNPCL has opened up reserves to ensure abundant petrol supply to marketers.
