Speakers of 36 Houses of Assembly Back State Police, Ex-DSS AD., Dennis Amachre Speaks

For security experts and many Nigerians, the tonic for insecurity ravaging Nigeria is creation of State Police. The bill to that effect is currently being considered at the National Assembly. Now, speakers of the 36 State Houses of assembly have thrown their weight behind constitutional review for the establishment of state police. The speakers, under the aegis of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, made this known in a communique signed by the Chairman of the body, Adebo Ogundoyin.

The problem with Nigeria is that we're still using laws written when Nigeria population is 35 million. Time has changed, and the population is now almost 250 million. The crooks in government do not want change. Power belongs to the people, and the people should demand their right to good security to property and life.
