Honestly the kids writing to themselves its a great thing but the part that made me tear up was the addict part. I wish I would of wrote myself a letter because I know I would have read it for my relationship with my father. Honestly a lot of these videos do ended up being very eye opening and I hope all these children grow to be great people .
As an adult, this made me tear up… I honestly don’t know why but a lot of emotions. My advice to all is to love yourself & take care of yourself and loved ones. Life really goes by so quick that you don’t even know what is happening but just try your best to enjoy the journey! Much love

I think everyone should write a letter to their future selves, it is really inspiring and I do bet it helps with depression in adulthood too. I'm finishing my business management bachelors degree and reading my letter from the 10th grade to my future self has helped motivate me to keep on going in life.
Damn life goes by so quick. I graduated at 17 and I’m 23 now. Last year my gr 12 English teacher sent out our five year letters. My life changed so much in those 5 years. I’m so much more happy and successful than I even dreamt of at 17. My advice is to do what you need, be selfish with your life because pleasing someone else is a waste of YOUR life. And be confident, don’t care about what other people think because it is the most freeing feeling in the world.

My classmates and I did a similar thing in our freshmen year of high school where we were assigned to write a letter to our future senior year selves and receive it during that same year. I remember my 18 year old mind reading what my 15 year old self wrote and man was I astonished, aside from the bad grammar, I couldn't help but laugh at the dreams and goals I set for myself, because at 18 they definitely weren't the same anymore, and now at 21 they changed yet again and I can't say they won't change again but something is going to happen to them. Not knowing whether their going to be crushed or come true is pretty nerve wracking . People change as they get older (sometimes) and so do their dreams and goals. The one goal I have right now that hopefully won't ever change, is to just be happy and love whatever it is the fuck I'll be doing in the coming years.❤️

I wrote a future letter to myself and it got mailed out to a house I used to live at. Years later I checked on it to see if they got it. They read it and said it was really sweet. I never got to see what I wrote to myself and I'm still pretty upset about it.
In English class we had to write what we wanted our lives to look like at 25. I turned 24 then 25 during covid. I have everything I wanted except for going to the places I wanted to travel. Now to write another one for the next 5 years!

Oh man…writing to your future mid-thirty self …. You are in no way prepared for how much your priorities will change by the time you hit 35. I remember being in high school and just promising myself I would get out of my abusive household. None of it was easy, but I succeeded. I lost a lot of people I thought were going to be in my future as I clawed my way into the person I was becoming. That hurt the most. I was not at all prepared for the heartbreaks and heartaches, but it was all worth it and I wouldn’t change anything. My goals and the types of relationships I used to think were meaningful took a complete 180 once I found my own value. You don’t even realize yourself at 18. Hell, I know some people at work who are close to retirement and still have so much uncertainty about the future.
The more insightful responses give me hope for our future and the shallower (for the lack of a better word) are at least as mature as most of us adults’ would be
