- At a middle school in suburban New Jersey, the 6th-grade students participate in an end-of-the-year rite of passage: they compose a letter to their future 18-year-old selves. After the letters are written and sealed, two dedicated teachers safely lock them away for six years....and wait. When these same students are about to graduate high school, the teachers mail the letters back to their authors. For 25 years, no one was allowed behind the curtain to witness the poignant moment when the contents of these letters are revealed, until now.

I did cry a bit for the beautiful girl that said she didn’t want to have Black skin anymore. I’m glad she eventually learned to love the she was made.

This is one of the first ads in a while that I’ve looked more into an I’m glad I did
When he said that he actually have boyfriend I started laughing so hard
Me too but not because the fact that he has a boyfriend but the fact that I knew he was going to say that before he said it.
I really love this series, it touches my heart and the message is so super-important, especially now for so many young people who may be feeling as if life’s hurdles are growing insurmountably. This gives them hope.
I wrote a letter (e-mail) to myself back in 2018 and got it today and it brought me here. It’s like talking to my younger self.

Yea, I actually wrote to my future self in 4th grade, but I was bored and decided to open it early 👀 it was very bland, just a little questionnaire that was like "what's your favorite song?" "Who are your friends right now?" "Favorite color?". 4th grade me actually wrote "none" for most of the questions, so 🤷♀️ meh
