If you owe money on your timeshare it generally means that you have a deed through which you have a mortgage. So, if you paid $20,000 for your timeshare and put $5,000 of that money down then you would have a $15,000 mortgage that would come with a P+E payment each month on top of your maintenance fees which are typically due in January.
Now, what you timeshare company won't tell you when they sell you the timeshare (really nothing but open air) is that although they say they will take it back they simply will not when the time comes. Chances are your timeshare does not meet the "criteria". On top of that - you still own money on your timeshare.
They will tell you that you should just try to sell it. The issue is that if you still own $15,000 or $30,000 or whatever you owe nobody is going to pay you that money for your timeshare. In short, you want to get out of your timeshare you are stuck.

My parents are 85 and 87. They have 3 time shares that they have had for like 25 years. $1200 per year in maintenance fees. No mortgage payments anymore.
They still do not understand that the time shares are worthless which is why they have held on to them. Total scam.
They want out. I told them to just stop paying the yearly maintenance fees.
Truly Great video - one piece of advice: your an engineer which means your extremely smart. Go to law school & start your own law firm doing all of this in house. You’ll make the big bucks.

Just bring the timeshare company to court and sue them for misrepresentation
They have deep pockets can keep this in court for a long time
Easier said than done. I have a lot of very clear evidence against them and I have still had 4 attorneys turn down the case, only because it was against a timeshare company. They do not want to litigate with them.
The Timeshare Company has its own Lawyers that WORK only for THEM.
What about stopping all payments on the timeshares in effect getting out of them through foreclosure/default?

Me too, I am with Diamond. I had a heart attack and am Disabled now so you know I can’t make payments. I am not even getting benefits yet.

cancel by writing to them and make sure you certify your letter as you mail it.
Are you able to help out at all regarding timeshares in mexico? I am trying to advocate on behalf of myself and I have documented proof of their lying, but they are not folding. An attorney recommended I declare bankruptcy
Mexican timeshares aren't attached to your SS. Cancel your credit card and it will default automatically
@@brandonhenriquez3918 I believe you are correct. I have not made a payment to them since October of last year. They have sent me 3 threats for collections but have not gone forward with any, I dont believe they're able to. I changed my credit card and have been okay as far as my credit score and everything goes. Thank you

I explained all the legal reasons that they can't do anything to you but YT seems to keep deleting the comment.
