I went to a timeshare presentation in Miami many years ago. My boss at the time talked glowingly of timeshares so I did not know they were complete garbage. Unfortunately for the timeshare company, I understood basic math. "So, you are saying I can pay $10,000 for the opportunity to pay in maintenance fees and usage fees about the same as what it would cost to just book a hotel room for the same number of days?" Hard pass.
An like most of these uneducated people, why compare Motel 6 with a resort? 2 or 3 bedroom, 2 or 3 bathroom, kitchen, living room, balcony, oceanfront?
Didn't even really pay attention, because wasn't interested and only signed after hearing about the 10 day grace period to get out of there; but ended up not cancelling in time. Things change & hoping in favor of being able to get rid of it.
Need to setup a way to donate to exit team to help fight these scumbags. I sat through presentation and got out only because my credit was horrible and I had nothing. I was in Mexico. And after getting out with my promised vouchers for excursions I signed up for 2 more presentations and got a spa day package for my wife and a 1 day jet ski/snorkeling tour. The one time I was glad to be poor and to them “worthless”. The last 2 presentations only lasted 60 min because I knew to tell them early that we had already been denied elsewhere. It was fun to waste their time, eat their food, and drink their tequila.
Congrats on winning but you won against vipers. Most people get bit because it is so dangerous
Wow! I’m so used to the in-person questions being shallow…but Danielle’s question in the second hour was such an important thing to talk about. I loved that discussion!
But you can't force adult children to do the program. Keep the relationship positive and give it time.

My aunt was diagnosed with cancer and my uncle signed the time share over to her 100% and someone joked maybe we all should. So 3 other relatives did that. When she passed the deeds went back to the time share. Seems to be the only loophole to get rid of them.
I am a friend of Allison’s and I supported her throughout her Ramsey journey. I am telling you, she struggled. I have been a Ramsey fan for many many years and have worked the program. Allison truly is a super hero. You, Dave Ramsey, are correct! Btw, she lives in northeastern Arizona, not Phoenix.
I sat through 2 and almost laughed when they offered to lend me 30k at 18%. I asked sarcastically, you'd do that for me? 😆
I can't believe anyone buys that crap.
Other scams include: fractional reserve banking, income taxes, social security...
Diamond resorts require a person to not say anything bad about them in order to exit.
My timeshare was with west gate. I was smart enough to cancel before the 10 days. They literally held us in the room until we sign, we kept saying not interested and the kept lowering the amount. This was a total nightmare.
Same here except didn't cancel in time so trying to figure out how to get rid of it

Man, I really appreciate what you do Dave and Ramsey team! Almost got caught up in a time share but remembered you saying they were huge scams. I came here to verify and wow, am I glad I remembered what you said years ago. God bless you sir!
If you really want to go to war with these jerks then do so. Throw all your money at them and ask for help to put them out of business. These criminals do not deserve to live.
I laughed as my boss bragged up here time share so she can travel 3-5 x a year. I get same or better resorts no debt no fees no stress getting vacations only when we travel! Timeshsres you gotta pay even when not traveling and hard get out . They say you can will to kids I say will them wealth being debt free

My husband and I have fallen prey to timeshares. We've finally got out of it after yrs.
How did you do it?
@@nadertossoun we had to get a firm that handles getting people out of them. It took 2.5 yrs.

@@nadertossoun me and my husband are military and there is something called the Armed Forces Vacation Club. It's free to military and its the same as timeshares. But they never told us about it.
So happy my husband is firm on his decision and had no emotions towards those bad salesmen
Mandatory 10% tithe is not Scriptural, that’s a Baptist tradition. You’ll find literally 0 saying that the NC church is mandated to give 10% tithe

I have a Sundance vacation timeshare which they say “ we aren’t a timeshare “ I was in a mess with them. Well I started selling my weeks! I sell them for 700 a week and I’ve sold 5 weeks so far . I’m so sorry Sundance .... jokes on you

Just swapped my Holiday Inn timeshare for a condo at Disney that rents for $450 a night! Boy, was I scammed!!!
yes the free gift was junk and i would show it to the people in line and tell them why its stupid to buy...many changed their minds

This "email" seemed just a bit too contrived for me. I think someone on the Ramsey team wrote it. Dr. John's responses were priceless, but just a little 😉 over the top. Great "email" and responses for entertainment purposes and delivering the Ramsey message. I was highly entertained and could spout the correct response along with the hosts.
i’m 52 and I have never entertained the thought of purchasing a timeshare. Financial suicide, in my book.

Why are these things even legal?
Scams like pyramid schemes and ponzi schemes only get rebranded and more stealthy, sophisticated, and incognito to seem legit is all after raids & shutdowns... Personal Finance 101

Your “generosity” should come from your heart and capability not from obligation or scripture written by some human 1000000 years ago. Sorry Dave, faith can blind people with no inner compass. Heard of those people who give 10% to church while in debts or struggling? I have. Plenty.
It is condescending to call a grown woman "Little Girl" over whatever dispute you two are engaged in on the air. That is unprofessional and certainly not up to the standards of loving others as we are taught by the Messiah.
Dave can be rude at times but I don't think unprofessional is the right word in this scenario. I think being that this is an entertainment based podcast on RUclips the standards for what is considered unprofessional is different. I think Dave is pretty clear about his sometimes in your face tactics and is actually a characteristic of the channel

So Dave are you still going after Westgate timeshare mogul David Siegel even though he’s now using his financial resources in part to raise awareness of drug overdose after his 18 yr old daughter died because of it?
