Brian’s famous for his hair, it’s 100% natural :) Well that and the fact he built that guitar, wrote a ton of #1 singles, is one of the best guitarists to ever live and has a PHD in astrophysics lol
Freddie could play any instrument. He wrote songs, drew and painted, but his genius was his five octave range voice and his showmanship. His voice is the most recognizable rock singer voice in the world. RIP Freddie. We miss you!
When Freddie arches his back,it gives his lungs more air to hit those notes. It’s said he had a four octave vocal range.I just love this version of “Somebody to Love”.The ending is great, all timed together but doing their own thing. Another great live performance by Queen is Live Aid 1985. It’s about 20 minutes long.
Freddie was an amazing pianist. He could hear a tune once and then immediately play it. He began piano lessons around age 7 and continued all the time he was in boarding school in Bombay (Mumbai), India. He organized his first band at age 14 while still in school. He was so talented, he could even play the piano upside down. At one point, he used a piano as the headboard for his bed and when inspiration struck, he would raise his arms above his head while laying flat on his back, and play the tune running through his head. As for other instruments, once during a bath, Freddie had an idea for a song. He got someone to bring him a guitar while still in the tub, where proceeded to write the song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" in about 10 minutes using only 3 different chords. Of course, he played the guitar on the recording and when they performed it live (i.e. during the Live Aid performance). He used to joke about it sometimes, claiming he only knew 3 chords. Other times he said he was so restricted while in the tub, there was only room to play 3 chords (and, of course, one time he swore that the damn guitar would only play 3 chords - LOL). He was also known to play the drums sometimes while Queen was in the studio but he never played on any recordings or on stage. I think he did it more for fun than anything else (or possibly to tease/annoy Roger).
Every time Freddie would sing it's like going to church. So pure w/incredible range. He made it seem effortless. Queen was one of my go to bands back in the day. Never get tired of listening to greatness!
Freddie played piano at the age of 7. It's pretty much the only instrument he's ever played with confidence (and even then, he's been quoted as saying that he's never been extremely confident on the piano). Great song and awesome reaction guys!
QUEEN is unprecedented talent, genius, uniqueness, & Freddie is the best front man ever!!! It is said that Freddie Mercury had one of the most recognizable voices in pop and rock history. His speaking voice fell in the baritone range, but he delivered most songs in the tenor range. His known vocal range extended from bass low F (F2) to soprano high F (F6) & a 4 octave range !!! One of my favorite bands & songs of all time, & thank you for sharing & your commentary, & above all, keeping this amazing band & songs alive ❤️ 💛 💙 💜
I hate that we lost such a talented man so young. But you know what, the guy lived the life he wanted to, he enjoyed his life, he left his mark (maybe a few marks) on the world, may God bless his soul everyday, and as you both said, may he Rest In Peace ❤
I've had the pleasure of hearing this live in person, TWICE!!! Both times were at Madison Square Garden in NYC, the 1st time was in 1980, the second was in 1982. So before and after this was recorded. Brians hair is natural, been that way since the early '70s when Queen formed, this was shot in Montreal in 1981.
Rolling Stones and other publications has Freddie as the greatest male rock singer in history! And, I agree, especially after seeing them live in 82’ as a teenager! Phenomenal!!! Out of body experience!

great couple . I've been a Queen fan for 40 years I like your reactions for the best band in the world and of course our beloved legend the one and only Freddie Mercury . ( Farrok Bulsara) .
The famous Freddie strut! I don't know if you did live Aide 85, it's a 20 minute set they do in front of 70-80 thousand people and he has the WHOLE audience eating out of the palm of his hands. They do what he says, when he says to do it, and stops when he says to stop. You want to see some strutting, this is the live performance you want to watch. It's what the movie was based around. And if you watch it, keep in mind also that this performance at live aide two things. Freddie had a severe throat infection and Docs advised him not to do live aide, but he ignored them and did it anyway and was not about to let his fans know he wasn't at 100%, and believe me, you couldn't tell. Secondly, this would be the first time his Father ever watched him perform, the first time he realized just how talented Freddie was and how many lives he touched, him and the whole band. I keep saying "Freddie" but the great thing about this band is they allowed one another to shine, it wasn't "just" about Freddie. Their balance with his vocals and the instruments was perfection and sharp. No band to this day can create the same unique sound that they did. Please if you haven't seen it, trust me it's not one you want to miss and worth the 20 or so minutes, you wont even see the time go by, and you wont want it to end!! lol Oh and Freddie also played guitar :) You guys are great, love the vid. Have subscribed :)
"but the great thing about this band is they allowed one another to shine, it wasn't "just" about Freddie. Their balance with his vocals and the instruments was perfection and sharp. No band to this day can create the same unique sound that they did." ......Bravo - well said!!!
Yep. It was not just Freddie. They were most definitely a 4 person band, each of them contributing to the sound. I love the riffing at the end of this performance. Only truly good musicians can improv like this with each other.
Love you guys! The way you really pay attention and appreciate Freddie! Although, take note of the awesome Roger, John and Brian, too! ;) :) From a life-long Freddie and Queen fan, thank you!
I’ve watched a few of your reactions and I just wanted to say what a beautiful natural loving couple you I hope you both have great success you deserve it
I am late in finding this, and I've watched dozens of reactions to this song, and you two have been the best one ever! I swear, your joy in this performance and how you got caught up in the sheer sexiness of this one just tickled me pink! LOL!
Queen isn't my favorite band but they gave one of the best performances of all time. Steph and jay, do yourselves a favor and check out their whole set at Live Aid. They absolutely fricken crushed the whole stadium and eclipsed every band that came after them.
Freddie learned piano at the British-style boarding school he attended as a boy in India, he could also play some guitar. Brian (lead guitarist with the big hair) also plays piano. Freddie LOVED Aretha Franklin, and i would have loved to see them do this song as a duet!
Oh btw you two are so cute together. I enjoy your reactions to music that I've been listening to my entire life. I was around when all these songs came on the radio for the first time. Lord have mercy! 🙏
Brian's natural hair! Step n Jay, I love you guys! If you liked Another One Bites The Dust, I think you'll love the Queen song Dragon Attack, too. Funky and rockin'. Amazing bass. There's a great live version from this same 1981 Montreal show. And the studio version of Dragon Attack is mind-blowing, too. Especially through headphones. Keep up the great work and let's all keep sharing Love and the best of humanity through great music!
You two are absolutely adorable! And Freddie Mercury is one of the best vocalists of our time - if not the best! ♥️♥️♥️ I love how you guys notice little nuances in the performances. Freddie is giving you a “thank you, darlings!” Just subbed - goin to get my sip on!
great reaction! Queen at Live Aid for Africa is rated the number one rock performance of all time. It had 75,000 people there and simulcast to an estimated billon people. .. if you wikipedia Freddie Mercury it explains. Thanks again!
YAY! This is one of my fave Queen songs & performances ever! GREAT CHOICE & REACTION! U two are so damn adorable & awesome!! And Jay is Rockin the Freddie Mustache. So awesome! Factoids: Freddie had 4 extra teeth. It definitely gave him a unique look but when he was younger he was very self conscious. When he was pressured to remove them he chose not to bc he was worried it would effect his voice. True dedication to his art. Also he got tons of criticism for his new mustache look. They literally took a poll on it and the mustache didn't win. Lol. But Freddie kept it anyway. Now it is a cultural icon in and of itself. Hahaaa! Just some fun info for you guys. You should check out *"Queen - Full Live Aid Concert".* It's like 28 min long but many people in the business still say it is the best live performance in history. Also...no pressure from me on reacting to my requests. You have great content & I figure you both have a lives too so just keep up what you guys are doin. People need to remember that "Patience is a virtue."✌🏼🎶💞
Freddie also played the guitar. While he himself always depreciated his abilities on the guitar, others like Brian May said he's actually pretty capable. He also composed several songs on the guitar like his Elvis Presley tribute "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" or the early heavy metal song "Ogre Battle".
I just subscribed and I am really enjoying your Queen Commentaries. The most moving, to me, is Mother Love. Freddie was recorded on his death bed singing various lyrics. He sang every phrase just three times. Thats it. He knew he would never see finished product. One day, he said, I'm tired. We can work on this tomorrow. He never did. Brian May sings the last verse. Its chilling.
Went though you list and I didn't see a reaction to Queen at Live Aid. It is rated as the best live rock performance in history and you will Freddy play his guitar.
Hi, am new and I just want to say OMG I love both of you, you guys really get into the music you dance and are adorable together, this is one of many songs I love, all four of them are very intelligent they all went to college and have degrees but music was their passion, for sure I will make request!
I’ve been anxiously awaiting you to react to this one!
And I’ll try to be patient! Hahaha
I’ve watched a few of your reactions and I just wanted to say what a beautiful natural loving couple you I hope you both have great success you deserve it
You guys are so likable & loved your reactions!!! Brian's hair was naturally curly, and he was quite famous for it!!!!
I am late in finding this, and I've watched dozens of reactions to this song, and you two have been the best one ever! I swear, your joy in this performance and how you got caught up in the sheer sexiness of this one just tickled me pink! LOL!
Levy Schroeder 🤗
Awesome video..Freddie plays the guitar in their song "crazy little thing called love"
Terrific to see you too, gorgeous duo blending with the legacy of this song...
Queen isn't my favorite band but they gave one of the best performances of all time. Steph and jay, do yourselves a favor and check out their whole set at Live Aid. They absolutely fricken crushed the whole stadium and eclipsed every band that came after them.
Great reaction to a great band I’m so glade I grew up with queen thank you for sharing
Freddie learned piano at the British-style boarding school he attended as a boy in India, he could also play some guitar. Brian (lead guitarist with the big hair) also plays piano. Freddie LOVED Aretha Franklin, and i would have loved to see them do this song as a duet!
Also John Deacon plays a piano, He played one in your my best friend.
@@adamchowdhury9774 And in Spread your Wings
@@MatmoeLP - John also played lead and rhythm guitar on a couple of studio songs and wrote several of their biggest hits.
Freddie started learning piano at the age of 7.
Yes!! Dragon Attack!!! Slinky, sexy, sultry @ Montreal '81 !!!🐉🤪🤘
must say i find it hard to beleive these people not seen queen before, one off the greatest rock bands ever....
You two are absolutely adorable!
And Freddie Mercury is one of the best vocalists of our time - if not the best! ♥️♥️♥️
I love how you guys notice little nuances in the performances. Freddie is giving you a “thank you, darlings!”
Just subbed - goin to get my sip on!
I love seeing the pure joy on both of your faces when Freddie hits those notes.
Yes, the hair is very real. Brian was known for his musicianship and his beautiful naturally curly hair :-)
great reaction!
Thanks for the extra info. about Freddie....
Rest in peace Freddy. The greatest singer and performer to ever live.
Looks like you two found a Queen to love.
I love this reaction, you’ve found someone to love, cherish it 👏👏👏👏
Freddie also played the guitar.
Loved this reaction! He plays guitar in Crazy little thing called love.
You’re both lovely. Watch LIVE AID 1985, the best concert ever!
Hi, am new and I just want to say OMG I love both of you, you guys really get into the music you dance and are adorable together, this is one of many songs I love, all four of them are very intelligent they all went to college and have degrees but music was their passion, for sure I will make request! Thank you❗💜
