Hey, thank you for the shout-out! Thank you so much for reviewing Odoban, loved the results! And, now I know that I should not use it for my toilet bowl😅. I usually leave it for 10 minutes on the surfaces, so I think it's more than sufficient time for disinfecting my home and a plus is that it leaves it smelling fresh.
Living in hirises most of my life....and having a teensy bit of germ o phobia ocd ish ways......I love turning my shower and handheld and cleaning anything from trash cans to rugs in my walk in shower..........the only thing I miss about a house a back yard and a hose to clean everything!
I have a question and sorry if you stated this and I missed it. Did you first clean the test area before applying the disinfectant? Disinfectants can get overwhelmed and not be as effective if the area is not cleaned first. Just curious if that would have changed the results on the drain and toilet.
I want to thank you for doing your testing and sharing the results with us. I really enjoy seeing the results, the proof that a product is working. I don't like thinking something is clean when it actually isn't. I have noticed that each product you test can clean a surface and yet leave behind bacteria on other surfaces. I'm trying to find the one or two products that can clean efficiently for all types of surfaces. I am currently using Windex Disinfectant spray because it can be used on mirrors as well on hard surfaces. Can you test the Windex Disinfectant spray? I need to know if I found that one elusive product that does it all.
Hi there! I will say with each test I conduct I am surprised how some work well in one area and not the best in another. I will add the Windex Disinfectant Spray to my viewer suggestion list. The list is about 250 products long, and I am doing my best to get through them all! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Have you ever used a Clorox toilet disposable brush cleaner. I use it for other things, like my bathroom. The handle is long enough to not fatigue your arm.
@@FieldOfFocus thanks for the video and the information! I use the wand in my bathtub too, and my sink. It's great on the faucets and handles too. I just leave it on for 10 minutes and wipe with a damp cloth. Thanks again for your very informative videos. You take the guess work and provide us with a visual too. Thanks!
Could you possibly test out The Honest Company disinfectant spray? Or have you previously and I’m not looking hard enough? 😆 It claims to be a clean brand but also claims to kill 99.9% of bacteria!
I haven't tested the Honest Company yet, I will add it to my viewer suggestion list!! I am interested in those products as well! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@FieldOfFocus Adding to this - Seventh Generation has a similar disinfecting spray which, I think, uses the same active ingredient as the Honest Company's disinfecting spray.
Hi. Love your experiments and appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. Have you heard of Force of Nature cleaning spray? It's supposed to be a "all-in-one cleaner, deodorizer & EPA registered sanitizer & disinfectant" spray that cleans with no toxic chemicals. I think it would be awesome if you tested it like you did with Odoban :)
Hello!!!! I just tested Force of Nature and will finish editing it this weekend so my Force of Nature video will be released on Feb 22!! Thank you for your kind words and thank you very much for watching!!!!
Hi there! I get my petri dishes in bulk from a laboratory supply company. Do you have a background in Biology or lab work, if so just see what company your lab purchases from and start there!
I don't have any pets, so I can't test for pet accidents, but I can test in the laundry for cleaning cloths with bacteria or using it on hard surfaces. I will add it to my suggestion list! Thanks!
@@FieldOfFocus puppies have accidents. Anxious animals pee to mark territory. senior cats and dogs become incontinent. there are all these special pet accident enzyme cleaners that claim they are the only product you can use effectively. I buy them , but I am skeptical.
I’m disappointed with these results, I was hoping it did better ☹️ i would love to see how it works in the laundry since that is primarily where I use it but I think you have to buy the big gallon jug of it for that 😝
Ah yes the big gallon jug!!! I was standing at Home Depot looking at the gallon jug, the wipes (which is what I wanted to test), and the sprays... went with the spray.. I should compare ingredients and see if there is a significant difference among the products.
There's a major flaw in your test. You did not eliminate the possibility that wiping alone (without any OdoBan) eliminated the bacteria. Not did you eliminate the possibility that any liquid, like water, would be equally effective.
Thanks for your thoughts. So these are real world uses, and in the real world we have to wipe it away. I do have a video on paper towels and water you might find interesting. Can Water & Paper Towels to Remove Bacteria??! - Tested with Petri Dishes ruclips.net/video/BeER2i2Gqw4/видео.html

Thank you for stepping in for consumer reports. This is the independent reviewing we need in this life.

I absolutely love your scientific study videos, please never stop!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I love doing these tests!
Love the music you picked!
Thank you! Sometimes I struggling picking music sometimes one just fits!
Aahhh, so cool, thank you so much for testing out the products! It's good to know it does a pretty decent job of disinfecting/decreasing bacteria!
Yes! You just don't know until you test it!! Thanks for watching!
If you would swab and grow samples from my sink and toilet, the colonies would probably grow over the side of the pitre dish and drag it away.
😂🤣😂🤣

So when I conduct a product test I only test that 1 product. I do not pre-clean. Great question!
It smells good too
It does! Thanks for watching!
Yesss thank you.

Quite surprised I always felt odoban wasn't that great.. guess I'm getting me a bottle

She tested 7th generation wipes and they did well on every area she tested!
I think the areas where there was issues. I’d use the odoban gel.
I haven't heard of odoban gel!

Where do you get the Petri dishes?
Hi there! I get my petri dishes in bulk from a laboratory supply company. Do you have a background in Biology or lab work, if so just see what company your lab purchases from and start there!
So….. how to you clean the bacteria from your petrie dishes??
Hello! I never reuse petri dishes, I dispose when I am done recording the results.
I thought that was a pretty good question. I never would have thought of it.
Can you test the products like Nature's miracle and odoban for pet accidents ? do they really work better than just using laundry detergent ?
