- From the 1st Season of Paramount's hit 80s TV series, "SOLID GOLD", enjoy our host, DIONNE WARWICK singing "Dedicate This Heart". This recording was produced by myself (Solid Gold's musical director and theme composer, Michael Miller - aka "Mickle").

So many memories your clips are bringing back. I was glued to my tv every Saturday night to watch SOLID GOLD. I particularly remember this performance as it made me want to run out and get HOT! LIVE AND OTHERWISE.
This arrangement was moving. I love it! Michael sir you kept Dionne on her toes as a vocalist. People talk about the magic of dionne with Bacharach and david. But you were just as instrumental in her career giving us stellar arrangements of timeless covers that showed her vocal prowess.
Well, thank you, what a beautiful comment. Frankly, though, I think it was Dionne who kept me on my toes, as I was always trying as best as I could to support her singular, out-of-this-world vocal gifts! 🤗

Only knew this as a Doobie song but this wasn’t bad. It fits her style.
As usual, Dionne Warwick put her own spin and a "Solid Gold" performance on a classic song. It was certainly high-spirited and high-stepping!!! It is one of my favorites from the "Hot, Live, and Otherwise!" album. However, my favorite from that album is "There's A Long Road Ahead Of Us." I wonder if that had aired on "Solid Gold" and if so, if you have that on videotape.

@@bigeyezzzzzzz Thank you for that information. That is a beautiful and very long ballad. Dionne did perform it on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" on the same night in 1981 that she had performed your special long, slow version of the "Solid Gold" theme on his show. At least we have that on RUclips. However, that would have been a good one to have done on "Solid Gold" as well. Her 1982 hit "Yours" I view similarly. The intro by Chuck Mangione was spot on!!! His "Feels So Good" instrumental was still on soft music radio at this point, 4 years after its release.
You had stated that you had been with Dionne for the slow version of your "Solid Gold" theme when she had been on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" in 1981. It appears that was the same appearance in which she had performed "There Is A Long Road Ahead Of Us." Did you arrange that performance as you had the "Solid Gold" theme that night? I am just curious.
@@bigeyezzzzzzzHaving a time machine I see Dionne performed "There's A Long Road..." in SEASON 1 EPISODE 40 Jul 11 1981. Jose Feliciano introduced the song. They both sang "Light My Fire" at the end of the show. That was a great episode.
@@tedbravakis8848 I wonder if a video exists. Are you certain that "There's A Long Road Ahead Of Us" had been done on that episode, as it has been stated that it had nor been done on "Solid Gold." If you know of a video of any version of that song, please do tell.
@@jasonburger3533 Just double checked, yes it was performed. Nothing posted on YT yet. Maybe one day. Dionne was wearing a purple sequin dress. ....She also performed "One In A Million You" as well from Hot! Live And Otherwise" on Solid Gold...not posted.
