Good weekend cruiser with an occasional Bahamas passage maker her beam is a little narrow but still blue water capable in good weather
Funny, for sale again, or still. Sitting in the same spot. Asking $150,000 now. Think I'll wait for the price to go back down. ;)
seems like for the right price might be cool because a lot should be added ac/generator/windlass/solar
Very costly for its size and age.
Great Channel you know your stuff and explain every system and detail .that's refreshing to find as I don't need to have a boat load of questions running around in my head .I can just chill and enjoy the tour . So I'm now subscribed .thanks I'm looking forward to your next offering.
Thank you for watching and subscribing, we really appreciate it! We have a Lagoon 46 that is being edited right now then we will post.
16:28 "Service some Wenches"?? Don't you do that in the berths where there is more room? Perhaps you meant winches? Giving you the gears! She's a nice boat. Priced right in line with the others that have come up on the market.
We will never know will we ;), I appreciate the razing! Thanks for watching.
LOL... I came to write the exact same thing. I even listened again to make sure I heard it right.
are they winches power? does it have a windlass? thanks
Good Job Dawg! I like your style and very cool to put the video flaws at the end👊🏼
Thanks a bunch! Releasing new videos in about a week.
what would keep this from being a bluewater boat?
Looks like Tomcat is back on the market. Im very interested.
Would be a great buy!
Is this boat still for sale?
@@BoatTourTvis this boat still for sale
Nice layout and in great shape, from what we can see. Love it.
I have my guesses, but what limits it to coastal cruising only? Is it only about things like water+fuel tank dimensions, storage space, overall size (people have done circumnavigations in smaller monohulls...) and ride comfort at only 35 ft *OR* is this mainly a safety/seaworthiness issue? I wonder if it capsizes easily, as it sits high in the water and has a relatively narrow beam...
Hi Christian, another awesome question, we love this stuff! I would say, like you pointed out, the tankage is the real limiting factor and not size of the cat for blue water travels. I can't think off the top of my head how deep her draft was or weight of the keels, which would also factor into the decision of making a crossing. I agree many people have done circumnavigating in much smaller vessels, but again as you have pointed out safety becomes a factor. I don't think capsizing would be a fear of mine in this boat after being on it, but the ride quality might come into play during a long crossing, which would ultimately have an affect on your personal performance and attentiveness. I could see doing a crossing as long as crew knew it was going to be uncomfortable and the weather and seas were calm. What do you think, would you cross the pacific knowing you would be uncomfortable along the way? Thanks for your comment and watching our tour, it really helps us with our new channel.
@@BoatTourTv Great answer, thanks. I'm no sailing expert - I just enjoy this kind of videos. I think the draft was only 3 point something ft (you've shown a table with some data somewhere in that video). I guess tankage is something that can be resolved when a longer passage is planned: some extra jerry tanks for fuel, water canisters and maybe adding a rain catching system. And in case it has a black water tank: replacing the head by a composting toilet. It's relatively lightweight (that's good and bad), has a shallow draft and probably little righting moment, so as I said: I personally would worry a little about capsize safety in high seastates. This might be one of the few boats that could profit from carrying something like a Jordan Series Drogue for safety backup when the ride gets too risky.
I totally agree and having safety equipment like the Jordan Series Drogue on board would/should be a must for this type of vessel during crossings. You could resolve fresh water with a water maker and even if you didn't go with a compost head, once you're 3 miles off shore it is legal to eliminate your tanks, so it would come down to fuel and food. If you did hit weather you could reef everything ahead of time and fly everything low while keeping your footprint as relatively low as possible. So it comes down to sea state and the rogue wave/swell. Since she is high on the water hull slap is drastically reduced, making her a little more stable in the water in high sea states. She is certainly fast enough to give you a chance to go around or out run the weather if it came to that and you had the wind. Great chat! Keep an eye opened we have a 47' Lagoon cat episode coming soon, she is almost as wide as Tomcat is long!
Is it really nice
Is it electric yet
I'm looking for cheoy Lee ketch 52 and up if you know any please let me know
We will keep our eye opened, check with Randy he is the broker who has introduced us to many boats, he may have a lead. You can email him at randy@ishkeesh.com
You didn’t show us the boat, we just saw a lot of you in the frame. Strange layout.
We actually lost all of are "B" roll to a corrupt file, we did the best we could with what we had. Thanks for watching. ~The Crew
I think the major reason that this great cat may not be suited to blue water cruising is the low bridge deck clearance resulting in slapping and stalling in heavier seas .
That and tankage will not allow for long passages, although you could get around that by having can lashed to the decks. Thanks again for watching.
@@BoatTourTv nonsense - there are are heaps of cats with low bridge deck clearance.
As for tankage, more garbage. Such a boat is not intended to have a crowd on board. No small craft will be comfortable when loaded with people. I’ve seen these cats on my own RTW cruise.
I’ve still got the original sales brochure for one of these cats and it does not say it’s just a coastal boat.
It’s so apparent who really knows boats.
Drinking game: Take a drink every time he says "really". You will be blackout drunk long before the video ends.
What year is it?
It's a 2005!
Still for sale?
Yes, I believe it went back on the market.
Monotonous background music.
All in house productions.
There was no link, only for your camera gear .
Hi Michy, at the time of filming the yacht was listed but we also see the link currently is not available , perhaps it sold? Since we only do the tours and are not affiliated with the sale of the vessel we can't really say for sure why it is not up. You can reach out to the broker to get the current link; Randy Barry from California Yacht Sales, Randy@californiayachtsales.com 619-295-9669. Hope this helps, thanks for watching, we really appreciate it.
