As someone who loved and played both, I have to agree with the fact that RDR2 is a ton better on every aspect. The story is emotional, so much interactions with npcs and so much more

Rdr2 is more better, beautiful graphics, perfect details, a story than make me cry, realistic gameplay and a lot of activities for example: fishing, hunting, explore, help people and secondary mission!

I love RDR2 over GTA V simply because the world, story and characters are way more mature in it. GTA as a whole is just a parody of USA. GTA has its own charm too but id go for RDR2 any day.

You can always tell that Rockstar takes lessons learned from previous titles and incorporates that into a newer title. Weapon/ combat feels more streamlined than Max Payne 3 + gta5, horses have more realistic weighted feel than rdr1, etc

For a guy that has payed both, i would choose RDR2, you can feel like you’re actually living in 1890’s but in GTA you don’t really feel like you’re there. Oh and the story of RDR2 and RDR1 is one of the best story a game could ever have. RDR2 is better than GTA 5 most ways, physics are better too. I’m not gonna talk about graphics, RDR2 is better at graphics too, and in RDR2 you can interact with the NPC’s more than you can in GTA 5. There’s a lot more activities you can do in RDR2 than in GTA 5. Trust me, you might be thinking i’m a RDR2 fan boy but i’m not, i didn’t even know that game existed. Try it yourself, you won’t regret it. Note: Play on PS4 or Xbox Cuz the controller shakes and it makes the game more joyful and more experiencing at the same time.

@Rehana Siddiqui RDR 2 has a bigger map lol. RDR 2 also has cheat codes, and having 3 characters is just personal opinion. I have both, and I didn't really think one would be better than the other, but RDR 2 is better. I'd say they are both equal in amount of things you can do.

I used to play Gta 5 but I found it quite boring, getting into gunfights and other things weren't fun. I found the story to not be fun to play and online is filled with griefers. Not to mention that you pretty much need three other friends to have fun, that being heists. Then I got red dead 2 and I was scared that It would be like Gta 5 but it's a much more pleasant experience. The story if more immersive and the online is much less boring.

It doesn’t compete with it graphics wise. It’s just popular because it’s GTA. There will always be many people who’ll play gta because it’s always been a classic and people grew up playing the series and there’s so much to do. But it’s honestly terrible in comparison to rdr2 in almost every way. Most people only play it because it’s the only GTA game available to play online (apart from GTA4) but most people don’t play that because it’s on PS3 and 360 and not many people have those anymore plus it’s 13 years old. I just can’t wait for the next GTA
