How do the stories we tell shape the boundaries of our beliefs about what is possible? From the dawn of time, stories are how humans have made sense of the world. Explore the fundamental role stories play in our lives, our inclination towards dystopian narratives, and the potential for bigger, better stories to unleash the power of human imagination and creativity moving forward. It happens again @4:06. Lol. Bad editing or they do it as an experiment to see if people catch it 😅

Geezus this interview is annoying and pointless. The rambling is just like a teenager when they’re high. She kept mixing abstract metaphysical terms meaning nothing at all into this conversation. I think AI can be used eventually in a way that helps us all create, automate, but we have to have a ton of regulatory laws because as it stands AI is being used to disregard and devalue human effort and creative, increase the wealth gap, make more people jobless and make those at the top rich. This was lazy reporting.
Break away from your currency shackles.
She's not very bright. It's painful listening to her.
What??? AI doesn't need emotions to tell us right from wrong for the betterment of society and humanity at large; it can help us lower the wage gap by showing us how to properly manage our economics, or showing us that religion should not be in politics, or how we should eradicate the war on drugs, or how to manage resources, etc. etc. etc. People have no faith in new tech but are our systems really working right now as we currently stand? We need something to intervene and rebalance subjectivity and objectivity cuz we're mixing the two up at the moment
@@legogoku7425 Why would you say that about anyone, you're projecting onto her because she's authentic
I love how they always say "we just took millions of lines of text, millions of paintings, petabytes of data..." like is nothing, but that actually translates to: we took advantage of the blurry unregulated copyright laws on the web (which are still in development) to steal from artists, so that people that just get "ideas" can feel accomplished by letting a machine do the work for them based on art that already existed and someone actually made using their talent...
So like, what a neural network already does? All artists these days steal fragments from each other because the world is a big place, and we've been around for like 300,000 years, millions depending on how you define human.
@@DarthMadV World big place. Me brain too small. Me use chatGPT to do brain for me. Me like tendy. But now me tired because me think too much to type this comment... Me go to sleep now...
She looks so unhappy. Like that spark she had years ago is gone now and it makes me sad.
It's 3 kids mate
@@svetaa2006 narcissist husband/ex partner, I'm not sure what her relationship with Musk is.
Maybe just being tired
Musk ruined her. He ruins every girlfriend he has cause all he wants is to breed. She had her own personality and was very hyped all the time. Now she seems wasted and lost.
Been like that since Musk. He ruins every girlfriend he has and only uses them to make babies. No wonder each time he is choosing even younger one. Someone his age wouldn't be able to stand being around him.
We don't need all these visuals to feel the great work that the artist is playing. If you close your eyes and just listen, every person will experience a different thing. The brain is amazing. 🙏🧠
This is a dark time for Art. Grimes is endorsing to destroy something so beautiful and sacred. So that people can feel like they created something. And im not convinced that is the entire reason she has invested so much into AI.
I agree with you completely. I couldn't agree more
yes 100%
People forget that there used to be a time before cameras, people used to draw by hand, this is just a new tool is all.
@@squatchgoblinsyou are naive if you think it’ll just be a tool
@@drugstore999cowgrl People over-estimate how far Ai can evolve. There are limits. Those who know what to look for, know when an output is Soley produced by Ai. Ai art is it's own thing. Ai just tries to mimic a neural network. It just does what a human brain does, without as much randomisation. It sticks to it's theory/programming.
this means nothing, art by definition wont be transformed by ai
I don't need this person's opinions on anything. You can already make "professional quality" art with a bit of paper and some charcoal. You don't need "AI" (generative neural nets or large language models) to make art-making accessible to people.
You know disabled people exist right
@@kunaikat2232Chuck Close.
@@kunaikat2232 Disabled people have been making art since disabled people and art have existed.
@@veronikat6996 so? Now they can do more. Why dont you want progression or accessibility for every one ?
@@kunaikat2232 That is such a bs line that AI bros have been spewing like crazy. You're exploiting people with disabilities to push corporate nonsense.
How could anyone look at the JWST data or Hubble Deep Field images and think the Universe is quiet and empty?
it sounded like a beautiful line on the verge on being rehearsed. i keep doing a 180 on grimes in general
Grimes is basically the bad guys from Hunger Games.
Personally I feel there are things around us we cannot perceive. If we imagine there is something in a higher dimension that can perceive us but we cannot do so in kind. It's not a far out thought, we interact constantly with life that has no concept it's being monitored. Maybe in my lifetime we will find something meaningful beyond what has been created here.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
I already did find it.
Creatures in the 5th dimension observing us in the 3rd dimension.
What is the carbon footprint of all these servers?
this.
they'll just plug it all into a volcano i guess.
What is the carbon footprint of watching videos on RUclips or owning a computer or smartphone or car or working a job or buying food at the grocery store or receiving medical treatment at hospitals or attending schools?
@@PromptStreamer I believe it's way less than bombing countries, using cryptocurrency or AI servers.
@@PromptStreamer not even comparable to running all those fancy ai models nobody asked for.

knowing how to and mastering a musical instrument and playing it, must be one of the most touching and profoundly spiritual, emotional and physical experiences a human being can have; on so many different levels; plus then adding in times engaging with an audience who so appreciates the efforts and the musician’s abilities and providing that generous feedback with clapping‼️‼️❣️.. what a rush!
I think this beautiful collaboration of AI with human consciousness and abilities, into an immersive adventure like the one shown here, even including the guest’s heartbeats into the effects, is pure advanced poetry..
Grimes said, ‘We’re alone in the Universe…’ I don’t think so
I loved grimes.
Admired her.
I study sound.
I fell in love with the sound of her laughter 12 years ago.
Now she is lost.
Her divine spark has been replaced with a deep sadness in her eyes.
She’s changed her face.
She can’t hide from me, shielded in Demobaza clothes and a cool elven techno disguise.
Elves 🧝♀️ are spiritual beings and grimes has lost her divine spark.
I’m sad for her.
She will lose the ability to love and her godhead.
The way in is the way out Claire Elise Boucher.
I will pray for you.
I listened to Art Angels today, you predicted so much of your own future on that album 🧝♀️
Change the way you see earth, animals, food, as your relationship with Nature itself is damaged .
I believe in you 🧝♀️💯
In my daydreams I once thought Nico would be the best person to meet in a forest, but that person is now you as I’m very concerned about you.
Peace be with you
🧝♀️🌏🙌🥚🐣🕊️
There's no need to insult her because your vision of her isn't what you see. She's a mother, a person, and someone who has had to make decisions in life. She's not a figment of your imagination. Anyone who sees the "divine spark" would see it's well alive in this woman. Stop.
No, but the hubris it would take to believe any human can judge the soul of another human certainly could lead one to lose their way.
I appreciate your passion for her. 💯
i thought you were being overdramatic but thats exactly how i feel about her
I see this, too.
I love you Grimes! Thank you for interviewing her. 😊
Rest in peace grimes
She's super fun. I like how she takes risks.
What risks?
Risks of doing a coachella set without learning how to dj properly
of course grimes is on pbs
its also cool because shes wearing color modded dark brotherhood armor
Or maybe it’s nightingale armor
I told my friend in art college to listen to music and paint their emotional response to it, let the music create the art, it wasn't as cool as this but the same idea. Awesome.
Oh WHAT!! Grimes for PBS ❤ I love this.
There is a new grimes interview and nobody ####%%% told me? Uggghhh beautiful queen I love you ❤❤❤
LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can it help you divide by 2 though?
I don't think the universe is empty and quiet. It's beautiful and only needs to be contemplated and listened to.
We do not need to 'fill' it.
Maybe it's her universe that's empty and quiet actually 🤷♀️
should have interviewed Holly Herndon smh
Let's go. So inspired!⚡✨😊✨⚡
A “brief history” of the ‘future’. Genius.
no one asking about the black eye she has
vale, solo vi lo que dijo Grimes, es tan encantadora.
You're worth waiting for ❤
I have chills
Glitch at 1:10 😮❤!!! I totally agree with her perspective at 1:45 💯! Love Grimes ❤❤❤❤
Hopefully Grimes will get AI to teach her how to program the correct BPMs on her DJ set next time she plays Coachella 🙄
😂
RIP Grimes you would have loved Grimes
Super cool
Love this
Yeah, she is a positive one to bee even asking that question. A poll... wow!!!
Why not?
It isn't empty!
grimes I missed you :(
I love you grimes!!
came here for grimes stayed because, captivating
I don't want to further interface with the machines.
the feedback loop makes me think of the concept of ‘religio’ i saw in a video on the meta crisis with david vervaeke (name ?)
I ❤Her.
I honestly see nothing more than kaleidoscope visuals
“Because we all use the same tools, real talent can actually rise to the top.”
“The universe is empty and quiet and wants to be filled with beautiful things.”
let's just give the keys to all this to richard james and call it a day.
Somebody knows where can I buy the suit that Grimes is wearing??
It's demobaza. They are expensive.
❤❤❤❤❤
I love her
@4:03
video and look is what I wish and dreamed Britney Spears would be like. She will forever be the princess of pop and who changed the music industry of pop to what pop is today
I feel like people get hold of the wrong side of the stick regarding Grimes' words.
All it takes is an attempt to read between her lines; it just requires you to view the topic via a less rigidly cynical, but rather a more fluid, intrapersonal and spiritual prism. Consciousness is a manifold concept. Consciouness is interlinked with existence and human existence is godly and sacred in any form.
The Universe itself *is* consciousness.
Now those 'metaphysical abstract meanings' mean nothing to rationalists, but Grimes was only presenting a tiny slit of her own universe within a couple of minutes. And the way of her thinking and perceiving things is vivid and colourful and fluid. It's easy to slosh around shallow waters but we have misinterpreted quite a lot of things by not taking a closer look.
I feel Grimes is made for the future and the future is made by souls and minds like hers.
An innovative liminality! How powerful!🌫
Grimes is soo wacky I luv it
Grimes "died" years ago. The pure talent and beauty we all knew and loved does not exist anymore. Choices have consequences.
Halfaxa was an era.
@@21stcenturysurvival True.
I like her. ❤
Em I like that she is better now.
I never thought I would say I was bored in an interview with Grimes , much less on the subject of AI. What is up with this? She just drones on and doesn't make sense. Where is her energy and charisma.? Maybe because it's on pbs? But why does she look so washed up and miserable? 😢 her voice is hoarse. The first reaction I had when I started the video was *she is on drugs* but I think she always was. Maybe motherhood caught up with her. I wish she would be genuine and say what is going on. She used to be so authentic. Still a fan. Just want to see her light up again. 🎉
just say you're misogynistic if you look at a woman in her mid 30s who's an artist and a mother who's tired in an interview and your brain goes to "washed up"
That bruise under her eye makes me feel some type of way 🥺
Yeah, we can see why Grimes needs AI to create Art...
❤❤❤
•Consciousness is a sacred stimulation indeed, yet the awakening itself is the human experience of suffering which has its own element of beauty in its own formation and ultimately gave us the molecule of the human spirit so it must never be lost upon us.•A.I. is a sacred simulation capable of slightly diminishing the capacity of suffering by expanding its capabilities in freefall ,just as vivid, ever expanding and multi dimensional as the Omniverse itself (As I refer to call it). I am currently working on a scientific thesis and novel on this very subject .Merging these two along with aquatics (which has somehow been left out of the equation )I think would propel human capabilities beyond our own perception. However there are elemental laws to our Omiverse that can physically and mathematically be applied to what I call Virtual Law.I believe in this technological advance but if we don't create boundaries as it expands like here on Mother for example, deep faking there will ultimately be consequences and this advancement will fall same as Atlantis.
It’s awesome to see an artist who is actually being progressive and open-minded about new technological frontiers instead of what I see as a huge group of very conservatively-minded people who don’t think they have it in them to reinvent themselves as society changes so they try to morally oppose something they worry is threatening their career
If you're passionate about sculpting, you do not want someone else to do the sculpting for you. You want better tools. AI literally does it for you, it's not a tool. It can be used as a tool, but most people do not use it this way. It's a replacement. So if you're passionate, of course you are PRO practicing your hobby. Sorry, bud, "AI artist" is an oxymoron.
If it CAN be used as a tool but most PEOPLE don’t use it - isn’t it the people’s fault?

Old Grimes already did drugs lol.

I'm sorry, but she looks bad. Like drained. Not well at all. I guess what I'm saying is you'd think if this whole future tech Ai world is as advertised, she'd be the most healthy and beautiful version of Grimes so far, right?
❤
tbh she looks the same as she always has
@kevenpeoples you'd think if she's all techd-out, gene edited & got that Ai in her, she should be the most healthy hot piece there is. Lol
Would not everything we do help shap the future over the next few decades. I mean I have to factor in the fact you are some one that has children with Elon but I think its interesting what your stance is.

no wonder elon liked her shes a creative genius she doesn't see the world like other people
She says like a lot, like really, like a lot. It’s like not saying anything, like really nothing.

How did she get with elon musk😭
I think they're perfect for each other lol
Its not a crime for AI to be bad at math!😂

Didnt get that poll so dont include me in your poll.
she's less the forefront and more the sidecar

I think they see the world differently than us commoners. It's not a very great look from here
🤮
So bored of AI 🙄 I appreciate it's uses though, but it'll only ever be seen as a tool to compliment the human experience by me. Not replace it
Grimes on PBS - more please.
I feel she is just repeating what Elon musk says there’s something more here .. she just hadn’t found it yet
She lost it for me when she became a host for Musk.
She didn’t become a host for musk, she graced him with her presence, which you’ll never have
