At the beginning of the pandemic, my mother got Covid and thankfully survived. We spoke every day for "high tea" on face time and she had incredible neighbors in her building (neighbors for over 40 years) who helped out with bringing her mail to her, grocery shopping, and taking out her trash. Thank goodness for kind people in this world who look out for others when family can't be there. Hats off to Al!

16 rounds. I am reminded today of my cousin who passed age 31 to cancer leaving 2 babies behind, this was almost 10 years ago and I will never know why but have been reminded today just how lucky I am to have my life today even if it does feel hard sometimes, we got this

My mom passed due to breast cancer. She worked for a hospital, but she stayed in denial far too long. This was a long time ago. She went into a coma at some point, but that was due to a medication mix up. She came out, and we had another year with her - my son and daughter could see her for one more year! Ladies, please get checked, as often as recommended. It was so hard, but mom was with us an extra year, and it was so precious. Like this is so precious. I love it. It makes me remember that time with her. Yeah, Im crying now. Kelly, I nominate you as an angel. I'm sure Heaven will approve.

Recently I had another friend whom I've known for the last 4 years, and who is herself the mother of eight (!!!) tell me she has leukemia. She has lost considerable weight due to chemo treatment. So again, everyone, get checked - often enough - to fight this scourge early rather than later on. Her name is Alisha, her husband is wonderful (they married joining two large families) - and I'm praying for her. Sorry to type so much, but it's another reason that I try to encourage everyone to get checked out. Especially women. I believe we will win this battle someday, but I'm also sure something else will arise. Sorry, I type fast. Yes, I miss my mother always.
