I would argue the factory BH4 is already a sleeper. I've got my Revision D stock and on 225 vs 215 rubber. Hard to imagine a better GT car for NZ roads.
They're definitely an under-appreciated platform, even in stock or mildly modified form. We love the functionality of the wagon and the performance they deliver! Do you have any mods planned for yours?
@@PossumBourneMotorsport I did think about it initially, but I want to keep the character of the stock twin turbo setup. I reckon by Rev D they optimised it as far as possible, the VOD is only from 4000-4500 ish. I really wouldn't want anything boomy but a turbo exhaust and de-cat might be worth it. I'm not sure if she ever got mapped, I usually put 98 in it so maybe a bit to gain there if mapped to 95? She's on 240k so I'm not wanting to push my luck
Thanks Jace! Once of the PBMS team members has a sneaky little Nissan Pulsar that looks stock but produces similar power to this. How would you feel about a video on that?
What engine am I going to swap into my BE5 B4? On standalone, retaining standard driveline restricting choices as to what will physically bolt up with some nifty adapter. 2.5T 5 cylinder longitudinal, 1JZ, 13BT, and the more I think about the response and torque as NA an LS3 would be good. There was a US manufacturer making full subframe, mounting kits to LS swap WRX's up until recently. Used to hate the idea of a V8 swap, but honestly I love Subaru's but aurally I am starting to hear too many of late that are just loud. EZ30 turbs/SC doesnt turn me on anymore. Pull out the EJ and slowly build it right over a year or two to go back in in anger. Meanwhile enjoy the hell out of something else and round it out to be driven. Twin system with a cuppla XForce mufflers for the early start/enquisitive mobile swinage/keep most of the non-car people guessing. It all starts with a donor vehicle ...
Sounds like you've got lots of options! Whilst we typically stick to the Subaru engines, we've also worked on a Legacy that was fitted with a Toyota 1UZFE V8! Sounded great 🔥 Let us know what engine you end up choosing
A very impressive sleeper. Are the STi components a straight bolt in to the legacy wagon, or do thing have to be modified to fit? Can you tell us what the build and set up cost?
PBMS Needs to work on their tittles you for real bro you bolt on everything out a sti and than call the legacy faster than a sti lol it’s literally a sti bolt ons on a legacy shell
Well it is faster than an STI right? And the title is literally "Ultimate Sleeper Wagon | Subaru Legacy with Modified STI Powertrain". What else would you like to see on our channel?
The Garrett G-Series of turbos have been designed around single scroll turbine housings and provide a great response without needing a twin-scroll setup.
I like the video I like the Subaru Outback of any kind your horsepower numbers do when you showed your video clip you have forced cold air tube into the top mount intercooler so you were going for maximum ideal conditions to get that number your number is not that real-world don't feed the big ass giant plastic tube to the top mount intercooler them run it then we'll have a more real world number.still all things aside, awesome vid
Hey Demon, we used those fans ducted to the top mount intercooler to simulate the airflow that you'd normally see on the road. We always verify the power and safety on the road. In the case of this car, and many others using a top mount intercooler - we find that the power produced on the dyno is very similar to the power you get on the road if the intercooler is fair cold. If the intercooler is heat soaked because the car has been sitting stationary with the engine running for a long period, or multiple back-to-back pulls under high load are performed the temperature of the intercooler and air entering the engine is increased. We purposefully calibrate the ECU to reduce the power and keep the engine safe.
Them boostline look extremely similar to the wisco rod for the EJ 🤔 and I mean identical maybe same product made by wisco and sold by boostline for much less $
@@PossumBourneMotorsport well there you go I should of bloody checked before opening my mouth 😄 thanks for the heads up brother and love what yous been doing with the subies mate absolute gems amazing work I wish I didn't have a massive ocean dividing us from eachother I would get my work done there and do yous sell complete engines say if I wanted one built and shipped to aus is that something yous would do or look it too ??
Yup - no doubt there are some serious gains to be had with an intercooler upgrade, however for the customer's brief; wanting it to appear stock and having the ability to have the entire powertrain swapped into another chassis in the future, it was deemed the way to go for now at least. We've pushed an intercooler even smaller than this to 490HP (on E85), then we upgraded to a quality front mount and the power was able to be increased 615HP with a little more boost and tuning
Hey Laurie! I believe we have - if it's the year model I think you're referring to, we were the first people in the world to fit upgraded Kelford Cams to one, which required so custom development.
@@BobbyLowedesign still a top mount for a couple of reasons - basically to be full sleeper and to be flexible if the customer wants to transfer this drivetrain into a GC8 in the future. Whilst it is true we could make more power with a front mount, we've seen as much as 370kw in the past from a top mounted setup thanks to E85.
This is every bh5 owners wet dream, mine included 💪🏾
Not in NZ in the fucking world, what a car
Omg i can't tell you how long i have been waiting for this video. Looks amazing!!!!
Thanks Logan!

Sounds insane.
Just wondering if yous can do a mod on a 2002 legacy rs3.0 ? It's automatic tho
This is beautiful!! Very stealth sleeper.
As an owner of a bh5 I’m curious to know what the estimate of a build like this would cost ?
In the region of AUD $30K+ I suppose? Parts and labour inclusive.

Good video guys! Awesome Legacy. Can you make some video about boosted EZ30?
Be interested in a build video on this, looking at bringing my 06 MT Blitzen for a future build.
I want this done to my 2003 legacy BE5 sedan but its got an auto box unfortunately
Thats it im moving to nz and in bringing my bp5 tbsti with me for these guys to sort out

its bolt on pretty much

No drag strip footage !? :(
Not yet unfortunately! We'll make sure we get footage when the customer hit's the strip!

Reminds me of Mighty Car Mods super gramps lol
This is nothing like super gramps they chucked that thing together on a budget this here one has had no money spared
not even close = two yobbo`s and not even good workmanship like this .
Great video !
Thanks Jake! Is there anything more you'd like to see?
That intake look like it would scale like garbage. Folks, get a real intake your tuner doesn't have to fight
Fortunately we ran a Link ECU on this car, so we don't need to worry about intake scaling as this car is tuned via Speed Density.
Why single scroll?
