I have a 1995 gt legacy, twin turbo, brought it in New Zealand when i was living there,, loved it so brought it back to Australia with me,, i just done the cam belt 200,000 km,, it is a auto with power button,, it still kicks ass,, and is clean and straight,, and like you said they ride so well,,
hello buster,, mine looks the same as the one in the video,, but mine is green,, are you asking for photo's of the engine ? if so just type in Twin turbo legacy engine ,, here on youtube and there are a few to look at,, hope that helps,,
I wonder if this is the first one of our cars reviewed on this channel. We exported a pale yellow "Limited" Legacy with a 5-speed a couple years ago. It is such a rare combination, I wold not be surprised if this was one of ours. The Limited was made for the last year of the BG5 and can be differentiated by the two round fog lights on the bumper.
Great video. We're certainly very jealous of the 15 year old import laws in Canada down here in the US. We still have some waiting to do before we can get the BG5 in the US. I love cashmere yellow and especially on a last year GT-B limited. However, that specific one looks like it'd really benefit from a cut & polish on the paint, repainting the front bumper and polishing those hazzy headlights out.
Honestly man out of all the car review channels I've seen, yours are overall the best.. and glad to see you're from BC, keep getting subarus and jdm cars !!
Had a gtb like this one, and honestly was one of the best cars ive ever had. Heaps of power, awesome handling, gear shifts and pedal layout are awesome. The only downside is that it uses so much gas, probably more than my rx7.
An electronic boost controller goes a long way in these, closing the gap between the switch of primary to secondary turbo (knows as the valley of death).
I contemplated buying one of these, but the sedan instead, the my01 b4 legacy. What turned me away and onto the single turbo ej was the known "valley of death" in the mid rev range where the second turbo kicks in, the cars power stalls for a good 500rpm between turbos, so the power and torque curve looks a bit nasty. They're not that easy to tune this issue out either without swapping the small turbo for a slightly bigger one (giving up the low end power, people who did this without tuning the car experienced a good case of the knocks lol).
My grandparents have had 3 of these, one was a postal service red 1995 model which was rhd. Their others are a 2000 legacy l and one was a 2001 legacy l, all wagons
Great car, super practical for Canada. I've seen tons of these, the forester S turbo's and the b4 RSK's. I'm planning on getting a nice, clean RSK and you can get one for 9000 fairly easily
I had a white automagic GT (260bhp) a couple of years ago, the auto box and thirst weren't endearing! That's a 280bhp, from the factory, GTB anyway. Oh for a manual BG5 :)
I live in new zealand and these are honestly so common over here that they're a very popular car with poorer people, haha. They're ridiculously cheap, it's quite easy to find one for around $1000 NZD and I even saw one today for $600 in working order, which is around $417 USD. I'm looking at getting a B4 RSK myself, which are around $4000-$6000. I do like these cars, but I absolutely HATE that cream yellow color.
lol I swear I saw this forsale on kijiji for the longest time before this guy picked it up. great cars and dirt cheap (5k-9k for one). but have fun with the twin turbo set up when things go wrong. that's why I opted for a gf8 wrx sti.
You know that it's not the boxer engine that makes the rumble right? It's the unequal length headers that are equipped on the engine. They make the exhaust pulses unequal and create that burbly sound.
Another great video thank you:) it's funny was only looking at one of these today to buy same colour and everything but automatic :) i'm tempted :) now i've watched this it's like the little devil on my shoulder saying "buy it , buy it"
That's a manual conversation. Original auto legacy. You can tell from the dash. That dash only came in the auto and you can see where the auto lights were.
Also don't forget that engine is a closed deck block easily subaru's strongest and most bullet proof engine out of the box they ever made. I wish they still made this engine instead of the unreliable weaker ej25.
Brother owned one of these for about 6 months but unfortunately had to sell it cause parents wouldn’t let him have two cars. If only I could have bought it but this was before I had my license and a job
Just putting it out there, but the sequential twin turbo system doesn't little turbo then switch to big turbo at x amount of revs. It's little turbo then lag then both at once...just FYI
I live in a country with right hand drive cars and I owned a left hand drive 71 Mustang. One day I took a right hander and there was a furniture truck in the left lane so I accelerated and went to over take it luckily my girlfriend was in the car with me so when I went into the right lane to over take she was the one who could see around the truck first and she screamed so I went back into the left lane and almost ran into the back of the truck and there parked on a double white line waiting to turn into her house was this little old lady in a tiny little mazda 323. If I had been alone that day I would have had a massive accident and maybe killed some one, I sold the Mustang the next week, so have fun with the cars with the steering wheel on the wrong side but never overtake a truck or any thing where you cant see around it. These days you can get cameras and small screens so perhaps that would be a good solution so you can have a look before you overtake, even a mirror would do it.
+brandon anderson I'm not sure if it was a while. Was only showing less than a week when I first saw it. Then bought it about a week later. Honestly it's kinda nice to have the valley of death because that way you're not constantly in boost and it makes that second turbo feel just that much more powerful.
Hey I have been jonesing for a 2002 B-4 for about a year now...but living in the States I won't see it for 9 more years. If I buy it and store it in Japan I can add another $5,400. just for storage. How about I import it to you guys, throw you a grand for your troubles and you drive it down to my place in the states where I can keep it safe and look after it in my garage for the next 9 years, LOL !!! Or, after watching your videos, maybe I'll just move up to BC... It looks so damn beautiful up there. Too bad I hear real estate prices have gone through the roof, especially in Vancouver, with Asians buying up everything in sight.
@@skippylegrandgourou2069what do they usually do to these engines? Maintenance and mods wise? I'm over here in the us came upon a very clean gtb but scared to buy it because I know nothing about the engine and nobody seems to give me any good info

That 2.0L boxer sounds nice :D

If only I knew you were going to review this car, I have a friend with a 2000 GTB E-Tune that was willing to lend for a review.
When i was about 6 i remember we had a 2002 legacy, all i can remember is the amount of new ls1's we smoked XD

just something , pull alot of these twins apart . they have very similar sized turbo , only ones with noticeable difference in size is BH rev D/E
also well done dustin , make the gen 2 community look awesome bro
boxer rumble... bask in the sound of inefficiency.

subaru vs audi... kings of the performance wagons.
make the wheels white, trust me, that color will look SO sick with white wheels.
