Dang that thing is nice!
Thank man! I was stoked when I saw you picked up your wagon, been a fan of your channel for awhile now.
Average Bros Media that's awesome dude! I'm making progress but it's slow :( your legacy is definitely giving me inspiration right now!
Yeah I can imagine that's quite a process to sort through someone else's partially complete build. Happy I could provide some inspiration, your car is going to badass when it's all done! Maybe some day we can meet up for the ultimate wagon video!
Average Bros Media that'd be dope!
It’s cool seeing a fellow legacy owner on RUclips, keep it up. Excited to watch you guys grow
Thanks for the support!
Beautiful car. Honestly, I’d leave it set up as is, and hang onto it for a while. These cars are unicorns, yours is a classic, will appreciate more if you don’t go too nuts on the drivetrain.
It's not a sleeper if you put it on the licence plate!
noel steele trust me, it still catches plenty of people by surprise.
Was just about to comment that lol
So when are we racing our wagons haha mines pretty similar just much more built follow me at Dakotam0rales in insta
I actually live in Portland and am sponsored be PRE racing. I’m currently running 375awhp on a conservative at 22lbs. The motor is good for 550 lmk if you wanna do a review!
and lose the stickers
Beautiful build bro, you’ve taken the time on lots of aspects of your vehicle that normal people will just say eh. But true car people notice the very fine details and unique choices.
Thanks man! I take a lot of pride in the car and want to do things right and as you said, I think true car people do notice and can appreciate the attention to detail. Appreciate the kind words!
This is the most beautiful Legacy I've seen!
Thank you! If you think it looks good here you’ll love what I’ve got coming for it
Love the wagon man...I'm slowly trying to build my 3rd gen right now I'll be waiting for more bad ass vidz
Thanks dude and good luck with the 3rd gen build! I'll be getting back on track with weekly videos here shortly and we're going on a rally from Las Vegas to Pikes Peak in a few weeks so there will be a bunch of sick content from that!
Nice wagon I love the legacy wagon they are so practical and rare
Thank you! I love how practical this car is, yet fun and looks good.
Very nice wagon!! I respect the work.
Was that bigger turbo a stock WRX and was it a direct bolt on?
Thanks!
Hey guys, I know this is an old video but just wanted to say great channel and thanks for the inspiration. Just finished swapping a 207 with a TD05 into my 94 impreza L sedan. I'm up in the Tacoma area if y'all ever wanna kick shit and cruise. Also about to pick up a spec B as a daily.
That sounds like a rad project! And I'm in Tacoma for work frequently. What year Spec B are you picking up?
@@avengednick oh awesome man, yeah honestly if you want to go cruise with me and my buddy with an r32 let me know. As for the spec B it's a 08. And yeah I should be working in Tacoma myself, if I get picked up as a firefighter up there
Awesome car! We're so lucky to have SpecB Wagons (like mine) readily available here in Australia. Serious respect for doing a full interior swap. Interesting that US SpecB seats have Alcantara - ours just have full leather.
Thank you! And yeah, you Aussies are super lucky having specB wagons off the lot. I'm so jealous... But thank you, it was a ton of work but probably one of my favorite parts of the car.
@@avengednick Europe got them too but they are rare everywhere just few hundred sold in wagon+6MT versions combined. H6 too...shame Subaru got soft and stopped caring about European market...
We dont get a single perf car yet alone anuthing manual...BRZ and STi were gone after 2016 everything is just damn cvts...
@@Kacpa2 damn dude! And I thought we were getting screwed here in the US compared to Japan, that's crazy.... Subaru really needs to get their shit together and make some cool, enthusiast focused cars again. Toyota is kicking their ass.
@@avengednick Toyota offers Yaris GRFour, GR86 and Supra here, so atleast we get some stuffm What would be great tho is Corolla Wagon GRFour, but i guess they wont even tho they offer a wagon here. That would be a nice car to fill in the void left after 4th gen Legacy..
Subarus Levorg could be that but they mase it cvt only..and now they have no choice due to emissions :/
But they still refuse to put manual in it in Australia too despite brandibg it as WRX wagon(which it aleays were chassis wise)
I'd keep power where it is to keep that reliability! You're pulling plenty.
That would be the rational decision haha. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a blast to drive at the current power level but I’d love to build the bottom end with an IAG block, dom 1.5 turbo and get closer to 400 to the wheels
Love the donkey Kong music in the intro
haha im not the only one that noticed
I have an 04 OBW.. one of these Legacy GT wagons is definitely a want for me. I know as most people say a subie is a subie.. but i think turbo subies are the coolest.. i always thought of the legacy gt as a more of a "business casual" wrx (or sti if you have a spec B) and anyone who doesnt know what it is doesnt know whats coming especially if its a wagon which is the coolest IMO but i may be biased towards wagons lol.. anyhow great video and i look forward to seeing what else you share
They're really great cars when properly maintained and there's defiantly something special about a turbo subie. And it has caught a few people by surprise, which is always great! Thanks for subscribing!
OBXTs are always an option too haha and no problem i like the subie and the current drift build youre doing! great work. Im in to a little bit of everything love lassic american cars and love imports with power as well
The OBXT is a great option as well, also love the FXT. Glad to hear you're stoked on the current builds, we may have a classic american car on thew channel in the not so distance future as well!
i love your legacy man. im rebuilding a wrecked GT wagon that's an 05 too. but mines auto but still a rare car non the less. but awesome to see more modded GT wagons out there
Thanks man! The modified wagon is a rare breed but nothing tops a fast wagon. Good luck with the build!
That's the video I've been waiting for! :D Awesome! Love your car mate! I would change only one thing, to tint the rear lights a bit.
It's been a long time coming! Thanks for the recommendation, I love the the contrast between the red on the lights and blue body though.
Good job bud. This video brought me here and i think im going to stay.
lauris2211 thanks! And glad to hear it, going to have a bunch of sick content from the drift build and I have a few big changes planned for the wagon this summer.
Really nice job on the car. I just picked up a stock 07 LGT. Looking to make moves!
Thank you! Congrats on the LGT. We’re about to get back to build videos with my wagon here soon!
My leg gt wagon has full spec - v interior, 06 sti engine swap, and lot of JDM exterior trimming and parts.
That’s two of us! Let’s ride!
CAPTAIN KIDD right on, that sounds sick!
It’s cool to see another regal blue manual trans limited package wagon being enjoyed. Hang on to it. You’ll never find another
Kyle Hafer with how much money I’ve put into this car I don’t think I’ll ever sell it. Haha
Average Bros Media same lol, mines on insta under @that_regalblue_wgn
I have a 2005 Outback XT manual limited and the driver’s seat back doesn’t recline and the seats are hard. I went the other direction with the suspension and lifted it 1-1.25” and have Method rims and Falken All-Terrain 225/60R17 tires (stock 225/55R17).
My friend has an STi block with stock polished billet internal built turbo for it.
Cool wagon😎👍I've just bought a Legacy 3.0R wagon 2007 and love it
Allan Taylor thank you! Congrats on the new car
The Spec B came in a wagon too, I have owned two of them.
Not in the US unfortunately
You have my license plate! I've been telling all my friends if I ever get a custom plate it will be SLPRWGN and I live in Washington. What a coincidence! Guess you beat me to it and your car is definitely deserving! Tastefully done build sir! It gets weirder...... my car is an 05 lgt wagon 5mt :)
SUBSCRIBED!!!!
Jon Sjogren haha no way, great minds think alike! I had been wanting it for awhile and finally decided to get it when my tabs expired. But thank you and appreciate the sub! I’m working on a video about how much I’ve spent on the wagon, should be a good one!
It looks great! Thinking of getting a legacy, preferably the 2.0 wagon from mid 2000s.
Thank you! I may be bias but I highly recommend you do! Haha
So sick , I am getting the Enkei Raijin wheels for my legacy next month as well as lowering springs
Sydney Reeve thank you! Great choice, I’ve had them on the car for a couple years now and I’m still not tired of them.
I just got a 2005 legacy wagon spec b I’m so excited 🤙🏾
Hell yeah, congrats man! They're awesome cars
Correction after doing research on the wagon it’s not a spec B it’s a 2.5gt limited 😅
I drive a 2005 Forester 2.5XT with a 5 speed manual. I was trying to look for one of these, as I had a friend who had a 2006 Newport Blue Legacy 2.5GT sedan with a 5 speed and SI drive (But I like wagons). Fucking unicorn cars, all are overpriced or poorly modded. Your car is exceptionally clean. Looks so damn good. Had to subscribe, you just don't see cars like this.
Thanks for subscribing man, really appreciate it! I searched for awhile to find this car when I bought it 8 years ago and I don't plan on letting it go. I have a bunch of crazy plans for it that I hope to make happen over the next year.
Wow!!!! Super congrats!
Nice work! Inspires me to do some mods to my 2014 Legacy 2.5i .. no matter how menial they might be :-)
Idk if you read the comments on this vid anymore but how did you get the plastic area around the transmission to be black and match the aftermarket stereo? all the models I see have silver there.
I wrapped it with satin black vinyl
Man im hoping i can mod the hell out of the one im saving up for but it isnt the 2.5gt im getting the 3.0r spec b😅
The 3.0R Spec B is sweet! We unfortunately didn’t get them in the US though...
i´m getting a gtb wagon right from japan in january. first thing i will do is to swap the radio with the jdm parts. expensive but the only solution to let it look like stock.
Yeah, definitely expensive but very worth it!
curious with it being RHD from japan, how will you title it in the US? you are talking about a BP5 or BL5, correct?
If you're getting it from Japan why would you need to swap anything with JDM parts??? 🤔
This is a beautiful car. I have an ‘05 Outback that I’m on the fence with....get a new car, or update this one similar to yours. It still runs above average with 225,000 miles. I’m no mechanic, so the cost of parts and labor is what bothers me. Love the color of your car too. I’ve always wanted a midnight blue colored car.
Thank you! And I hear you on that, labor alone is insane... I try to do as much of my own work as I can and learn how to do the things I am capable of but sometimes it just requires the professionals. I’m at the point now where I could never replace this car in terms of the driving experience for what I could sell it for so I plan to continually build it and make it my dream wagon.
Nice wagon! I’ve got an 07 obxt and I’m looking for smooth those roof rail replacements… got a link? Thanks!
Thank you! And these are just the factory LGT roof rails. The OBXT and LGT have different style rails
I also have the spec B interior! quality choice man, i love mine.
Riley Woodhouse thanks man! I definitely think it’s the best legacy Interior they offered.
love it man! I've got my eye on a couple that are for sale right now, just waiting on that tax return !
Hell yeah! They’re great cars when properly maintained. Best of luck with the search
Nice car bro. I have a 07 LGT limited sedan. And fist bump for living in Washington state. I live in central Washington. How hard was the jdm front end conversion?
tjbugeye thanks man! Ayee shoutout Washington! And it was super easy, if you’ve ever taken the front bumper off it’s as simple as putting it all back together.
I recently swapped my tan interior for a black chestnut leather interior
For my 07 outback*
Nice! Black is such a upgrade to the interior in my opinion, the tan just didn’t feel sporty
@@avengednick i agree so much and if imma be honost after seeing ur lgt i wouldnt mind a wagon version.. I was originally looking only for the sedans but wagons can be clean too
Devin Versteegen aye that’s what’s up! Slowly growing the wagon mafia. Haha
@@avengednick yessir i thought my outback wasnt for me but ig its mainly the powrr to weight ratio😂
I have grown to like my tan interior, first impression wasn't so good but I like how light and open it feels. I am looking forward to hearing more about your power and suspension mods. I know I definitely want to do swaybars, I have just been putting it off because all the parts are so much more expensive on this car than any other car I have had in the past. Endlinks are outrageous, I may have to get creative and build my own spherical endlinks like I made for my Supra, they work awesome and were not expensive to put together. I was also thinking about a mild lowering spring with spec b struts but maybe Koni is the way to go, I have liked them on other cars in the past. Thanks for the great content, cheers!
SupraWes you’re one of the first people I’ve heard say that but it definitely does feel more light and open than all black. Good to know, maybe I’ll do some short videos covering both groups of mods in more detail. The sway bar/suspension mods hands down made the biggest difference in overall feel of the car. It handles like it’s on rails now. But it is unfortunate the cost of those parts, very worthwhile in my opinion though. Glad you are enjoying the content, appreciate the support!
a cheap way to get a 25MM sway bar for the front is one off of a subaru tribeca. the OEM ones on that is 25MM and you can find them at the junk yards for like $20 which is what i paid for the one i grabbed.
You should of got the tuned by sti wagon interior for 1 it comes in a wagon and too it's got nice red stitching
I honestly wasn’t even aware of the tuned by STI interior when I did the swap 5 years ago, but that is definitely a beautiful interior. I know a couple guys have done it, the RHD vs LHD presents so challenges but it’s doable
@@avengednick nevertheless the car come out beautiful.. Subaru's are just that kind of car you won't appreciate until you've owned one ive discovered the new found love for the subaru my self never owned one ended up with a 2009 tuned by sti 6speed now ill never own another brand of car other then subaru 🤜🤛🇦🇺
@@Lightsout89 thank you! And couldn’t agree more, they’re certainly not the fastest car and cost way more to get performance out of than a lot if other cars but there’s just something about them. And you can’t go wrong with a fun wagon, so I’ll have this car for a long time.
I would love to see more on how you put sound deadening in your doors
Kyle Bestle Damn I wish I had a video of it! Shoot me an email at averagebrosmedia@gmail.com and I’ll show you pics of the end result and explain it more.
Dynomat from Eastwood or even spray on truck bed liner works. Get the rattle can stuff from home depot. Any tar or rubber based coating will work.
'SLPRWGN' is there to indicate to people that some times you sleep over night in the back of your car?
Nice job!
Thank you!
You said, God awful, lol , really! Thanks for the video
I've an 09 same colour legacy estate but it's a 2 litre turbo. I don't think they sell the GT in Ireland. Also the parts in Ireland are crazy money. To import that GrimmSpeed intercooler kit would be about $1300.
Nice vid!!
Were the 04 STi calipers a simple bolt on?? Curious.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! And they're pretty simple, the fronts are direct bolt on with STI rotors. The rears rear are a bit more complicated but not impossible. Here's a video we did on the install: ruclips.net/video/j1GP33MH8Cw/видео.html
Apologies in advance, audio on that video is trash since we hadn't figured out the right mic settings yet.
That license plate doe 😄😄
I have an '05 OBXT. What is the difference between a Legacy GT wagon and the Outback XT? They look pretty much the same to me..
They're very similar as they're built on the same chassis, but there's a few key differences! They have different suspension, making the LGT about 2.5" lower in stock form. The LGT also has larger brakes than the XT and I believe a different set of gears in the differential if I remember correctly. Then there's the exterior differences like hood, bumpers, fog lights, and fender flares on the xt.
@@avengednick I see, thank you.
Sleeper wagon numberplates kind of gives it away as a sleeper...haha
It since been changed, but many others shared that same opinion haha
Clean
Sorry but they do make spec b in wagons. They are extremely rare.
Maybe the US market didn’t get them.
I own a 08 liberty spec-b wagon. 2.5t 6spd manual with full leather and sunroof. Ours come with a 16.1 McIntosh 6 CD stacker stereo.
Btw In Australia the 04 -06 was a 2.0t and the 07-09 was the 2.5t.
Would have been cheaper and easier if you just bought an 07-09 model?
Fuji Wags that’s correct but the US never got them. And we only got a manual in 05.
god id love to have a gt version of my car :3
Sunroof and Leather weigh more. Thats why I went with a regular lgt wagon.
Sick wagon...but I think you can afford that STI lol
tuna desu thanks! And probably now, but definitely not at 17. Haha
can you give links to the black interior pieces???
The black spec b interior pieces? If so, there’s no links. You have to watch for used stuff to pop up
Hey man I’m about to by a GT wagon myself! 2005, Manual, Black on Black. What are some common problems I should look for when I check it out?
Hey man, congrats - that's a great and semi rare color combo! Check out LegacyGT.com, there a ton of great info on there. I learned just about everything I know about these cars and working on them from that site: Here's a great thread with common issues to get you started: legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/my05-09-legacy-gt-common-issues-230230.html?t=230230&highlight=common+issues
How did you get your bumpers i cant find them anywhere
I got mine from an importer. Finding a US based importer or searching yahoo auctions is your best bet.
Any way I could connect with you, I am just starting my 05 LGT build. Exact same car. Love your video, beautiful car.
BTW I’m in Oregon just east of Gresham.
Hey man, shoot me a message on Instagram @averagebrosmedia. Happy to answer any questions!
Awesome car and nice job with the build. I have a 13 wrx but we have almost all the same mods, felt like I was watching a video on my car. The only thing I did you hadn't yet was meth injection. Considered that yet? I strongly reccomend!
Thank you! I love that gen of WRX, must be a blast to drive! And admittedly, I am not super familiar with meth injection but I'll have to look into it.
Average Bros Media very impressive what you have done! I actually have the same wheels too! Meth injection allows for advanced ignition timing and provides cooling and knock prevention. I haven't had mine dyno'd before or after but the difference is night and day. I bet I gained 40-50 hp and maybe 60+ tq. I can press a button and turn it off to run a non meth tune. Went on my tuners recommendation. Let me know and I could send you more info if you wanted.
Thank you! I have some big plans for the car in it's next phase, just need to finish up the 240 build in the meantime. And very interesting, thanks for that info! Definitely sounds like a good route to go, I'll have to consider that down the road.
Average Bros Media sounds good. I will check out your videos on the 240 if you have some on the channel
Rick Dietrich there’s a couple currently a little ways back but she’ll be making a return to the channel this Monday with much more to come!
Sick!
Where did u find the Perrin front/rear 25mm bars? Been checking the forums, seems they discontinued the Legacy bars all together, do any of the wrx/Sri bars fit?
Andy Opshinsky I bought one new and the other used years ago before they were discontinued. And I’m not positive, but I don’t think any of the WRX/STI bars are compatible.
GR front bars are compatible
Do you use spacers? And what are the ET/offset on your rims?
Syver Bakstad nope, wheels are 18x8 +45
Hey man I love your legacy wagon I was wondering what size engine it is and what rims it has on it
Thank you! And it's a 2.5 turbo engine, the wheels are 18x8 Enkei Raijins
Possible web links to the exterior mods?😊
You’ll have to find it all used at this point. I’d suggest searching yahoo auctions Japan or looking through the Legacy Owners Worldwide Facebook group for places to source JDM parts
Nice car. We got the spec b in a wagon in the UK. But my seats are all leather and not fabric centers. On hot days it would be nice to have fabric not leather, but hey first world problems ay.
Thank you! And interesting, I definitely appreciate the alcantara on hot days and how planted it keeps me during hard cornering.
классная тачка у меня тоже GT Spec B с двигателем EJ20Y 5MT , Хочу купить такую как у тебя только на автомате
Where did you get the din for the radio. I can’t find them anywhere. I have the limited wagon with dual climate control.
I got mine off Avo JDM, looks like they have them in stock: avojdm.com/dual-zone-av-panel-set-h6217ag911/
You can also keep any eye on the for sale section on legacygt.com, they pop up there used periodically.
Average Bros Media thanks
Average Bros Media just ordered
Average Bros Media where can I order a wiring harness for the dual climate controls?
Spec-B comes in wagons too ABM just in case you did not know...
M dash Cube unfortunately not in the US, because we don’t have good taste in vehicles as a country. Haha
@@avengednick Just do what I did, and snag a JDM Spec B swap. That 6 speed with the taller gears gave me a little over 1k
Rpm drop on the highway. Such a better transmission! The bigger rear brakes and R180 diff is nice too. 😁
@@rite2beararms That's the plan! I've swapped over nearly everything else that comes on a spec B, just need the trans.
if you really want more power. Then put a JDM Subaru legacy Sti 2.0 turbo motor in, revs to 8k, 315HP stock. They are underrated, so you might have a little more then that
I have an 05 legacy GT St wagon myself. What did you do With your tan interior? My car is Tan might be interested in a driver's seat.
Unfortunately that's the one piece I don't have, I tore it apart to use parts in the Spec B swap. If you need anything else I have literally every other part.
Average Bros Media definitely, I want the back cargo upholstery. Mines got some stains that I tried to clean it but, it's not as spotless as it was before. I hv alot if questions for u bro. I love these cars, I want to do an exhaust system on mines but I'm sceptical about being able to pass nys inspections?
I definitely have those parts, shoot me an email at averagebrosmedia@gmail.com. As for exhaust, I am not too familiar with the NY inspection process. Have you been on LegacyGT.com? There's some great info on there and I know a handful of people in that area that would probably have better info on that specifically.
are all the legacy gt wagons RWD?
No, they’re AWD
Can you link where you got everything from im trying to build mine like this😍😍😍
Haha I've bought parts from SO many places over the years, it would be a long list. Anything Grimmspeed, Cobb, or Perrin I purchased directly through them. I've used JDM importers for the JDM parts on the car or bought them through Yahoo auctions. If you're curious about specific parts, let me know and I can try to help out. The Legacy forums (legacygt.com) was always a good resource for me too.
What site u buy parts on? I have a 05 wagon EJ205
I’ve ordered parts from all over, it really depends what you’re looking for. Are you looking for anything in particular?
I want a custom headlight, I want to replace the front grill. That’s it so far
@@FronxBoss I modified my headlights myself, so I’m not sure who the go to is for custom headlights. Front grill options are pretty limited. I know AVO JDM makes a mesh style grill for our pre-facelift 05’s
Ok thanks nevertheless. Will continue watching your vids though for ideas
Hey man, what size tyres are those? Thanks!
Those were a 225/40/18 in this video
@@avengednick thanks!
i have to legacys ones lifted an the i stripped the other one out and tinted the windows and i race it on the streets of my town
Right on, very cool! They're fun cars
I have a 08 legacy 2.5i (I know that sucks) and I am going to lower it but there are cone bump stops on the rear control arms that will bottom out! My question is do I need to cut those down or remove them?
Diego541 I actually had an 06 2.5i, everyone starts somewhere! I only lowered mine about 1.25” and I didn’t have to modify the bump stops at all.
Average Bros Media ok great, also I want unequal length headers any idea of where I should get them? Thanks for the fast response.
Diego541 I honestly haven’t really looked at aftermarket unequal length headers. I’m still running the stock ones and will likely go equal length down the road so I’m only familiar with those options. But Perrin and Killer B make equal length.
Average Bros Media I want that Subaru growl!
Diego541 fair enough! I’m going to have to sacrifice it for the power gains. Haha
what front lip do you have? and where can i get one?
It's an OEM JDM STi lip for the JDM legacy bumper. I'm not sure if anyone else them new, your best bet is searching Japanese auctions sites.
Beautiful ride! #IDriveSubaru
What exhaust is that
It’s a Greddy! Unfortunately it’s been discounted for awhile now...
Mine’s identical
Check out the recent build series, just did a full overhaul on the suspension and switched the look up a bit!
You have a vf52 and your plate says SLPRWGN???
Tsxtasy1 yup
Dope spec.B interior swap. Seems homey to me since I own an 08 spec.B
It's hands down the best legacy interior! Coincidentally I bought my 09 spec.B after I swapped this into the wagon, so now both my cars have the same interior. But no complaints with that.
How’d you do the stereo tho?
Like switch it to double din from stock
You’ll need to buy the JDM double din/hvac unit. It’s an OEM JDM Subaru part
IMO the move for interior on an LGT is tan seats with black everything else and the fake wood trim. The silver plastic is just underwhelming, and the tan is just as comfy if not more so than the Spec B, and way more than the black.
Side note I've noticed all LGT wagon drivers are obsessed with being the most "unique" and telling everyone about it.
To each there own, that's definitely the best way to make the tan interior look better but I still prefer the spec b interior. I've always thought it looks the most high end and suiting to a performance car.
Average Bros Media yeah, as far as seats and door cards go. But of course that's a boatload of money for different colors. I agree with you if you're going for an OEM look and feel. I think something like that carbon overlay kit would take the plainness out of the interior. You should look into that.
Absolutely, not sure I'd go this route again knowing how much it cost but I love the outcome. And for sure, best bang for you buck to change up the interior is what you mentioned. And I have thought about it, might do something like that down the road. Putting most of my money into the 240 build at the moment.
Average Bros Media definitely agree. I did the "half swap" with the anticipation of putting some sort of aftermarket seat in as I'm 5'9" and 115lbs, so no factory Subaru seat from the 2000s holds me lol. Love the build though, I'm just about to swap an 08 spec b 6 speed into my own LGT wagon.
Haha yeah, the hold of a stock Subaru seat in the legacy platform is less than desirable.
I want that grill.
It's sooo good!
Where can I get it
Where’d u get the grille ! I need that
send and email over to Arnold, southbayjdmparts@gmail.com. He'll get you taken care of!
Average Bros Media thanks just sent it out lmao
Stock internals?
Yup currently stock internals, the plan is to upgrade to a built IAG block down the road.
Yeah that’s a good plan, I have an obxt and just from what I’ve heard and read a built motor with what you have done would be great, bomb proof daily without any of the problems most people have with these cars.
What is the name of the color of the wagon?
Reuben Charles Regal Blue Pearl
It's a great color.
Reuben Charles I’ve always loved it, I think it’s the best legacy color. But I may be biased.
Just stopped in to say, as a fellow Subaru guy and fan of sleeper builds, body kit hood scoop and bling bling rubber band Wheels and tires is the exact opposite of sleeper. That being said nice outback, but it's still not a sleeper stop acting like it is.
Body kit and rubber band tires? All factory Subaru body parts and Enkei wheels with a 40 sidewall tire, but please carry on. Funny that me calling this a sweeper at one point is still triggering people 6 years later
Spec B Wagon (Estate) was available here in the UK with 3.0 flat 6:-
www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/subaru/legacy/first-drives/subaru-legacy-spec-b
Wonder why not in the USA.
Colin Mill Americans for some reason don’t buy wagons, so most companies don’t offer a wagon even if it’s available in other parts of the world. It’s a true tragedy... Wagon > Everything
I guess this explains why Subaru have turned the Outback from an AWD estate into an SUV. It does rather leave me with a problem with what to do next time as Audi, Volvo, BMW and Mercedes all offer vehicles in this format but not Subaru.
Hopefully the problem is a long way in the future as I tend to make my cars last a long time (this being only my 3rd family car since 1982)
Colin Mill exactly, it’s slowly become a full SUV. Hopefully Subaru comes to their senses! A Lavorg in the US would be a great solution.
Sadly there seems no manual box option on the Levorg (at least not here in the UK) which gets it crossed off my list straight away (I know, I'm a dinosaur).
Colin Mill no I’m right there with you, that’s it’s major downside. If it WAS in the us I’d just manual swap it but given that’s not an option I’m left disappointed.
What rims are those????

I don’t think this guy knows the definition of a sleeper
Shelby as the guy who drives this car on a daily basis and sees how it goes under the radar of police and the general public, I’d say it’s still a sleeper.
Average Bros Media definitely not a sleeper. An sti is a sleeper to people who don’t know cars. The term sleeper is really only used within the car community. And within the car community, a car that has as many mods as you do, is DEF not considered a “sleeper”.
Shelby clearly the definition of sleeper can be subjective. I’ve always seen it as a car thats performance is unsuspecting, not related to how many mods it has. For example, if you have a fully built 2JZ in a family station wagon with not appearance modification no one is going to expect it to be fast. Yet, it has a ton of mods. So are you saying that’s not a sleeper?
I'm going to put this argument to bed. A "sleeper" is an unassumingly fast car. I See you are at the U of W where terms like "subjective" are thrown around to tailor a narrative to your advantage. I'm sure your car is fast and yes, it looks it so no, it's not a sleeper. It's easy to be a blend-in in the greater Seattle area with all the Tesla's, Mercedes, BMW's, Lotus', Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Alpha's and other craptastic stuff we have here. A sleeper does not advertise, period. Years back (when real horsepower was king) I bought a 68 Road Runner with a 383. It had headers and a big, lumpy cam. Paid $500 for the car and didn't realize that I'd pay $500 every 3 months for gas when it was a buck a gallon. I remember the old dude in the Coronet wagon. A pretty standard rig at the time, chrome roof rack, some weird shade of lime green paint and simulated wood grain paneling on the sides, a hefty 3500#+ rig (not that mine was any lighter). Right in front of the front door down low were three little numbers... 440. I was about your age and I'm sure he had all of that and the noise his engine made let me know he wasn't going to loose. He didn't, I will never forget that simulated wood grain passing me by as he very clearly gained ground on me. Something made me drop throttle and as I made my turn off (to lick my wounds) I saw the reds and blues start in pursuit of him as he continued on. Bummer Dude! He won! He had a true "Sleeper". I did give it the five minute loop (thanked my lucky godamned stars it wasn't me). I turned back for a speed limit "drive-by". A Road Runner had a distinctive horn, it went "Beep Beep" just like the cartoon. I Popped a few beeps as I motored by at 25 mph, shit-eating grin on my face, I'll never forget the look that dude and the cop gave me as I cruised past. Priceless! There is a lesson here. The old adage "Winning isn't everything" finally made one hell of a lot of sense. Just some food for thought here.@@avengednick
Been following the build thread since last year. Ever since I've wished my rbp sedan was a wagon lol.

Haha awesome man, glad you found the channel! If you have't already, hit the subscribe button I have big plans for the wagon over the next year that I'll be documenting on here.
Sorry to cause the wagon envy though! At least yours is RBP, it's the best color after all.
I believe only 1600 made with manual bro
Yeah I think that may be the total number of manual GT wagons, the number gets smaller when you look at manual GT wagons with the limited trim.
that's not a sleeper
Haha how do you figure?
I was taught sleepers are cars that look like they are not fast or tuned up in any way. I would make an effort to tell that guy while driving down the street that his legacy looked really good. I don't think the quality of that car is "under cover(s)", not much of a sleeper to me.
my 03 legacy with rust holes and dents on the drivers front fender would be a sleeper if I told you what was under the hood.
That's fair, I can understand your perspective. Although, I think I sleeper is more or less an unsuspectingly fast car and less about the quality of the build. Given that 90% of the Subaru community, let alone the general public, sees my car and expects it to be just another soccer mom wagon and has no idea it's performance capability, that it falls into the sleeper category.
Average Bros Media 90% of subaru community are not "unaware" of legacy gt's.
Sleeper??? Caution in the corners: it's faster than a lot of V8!!!
Where's the lie? Haha
Average Bros Media you're right, mu friend!! :-))....Google translated: who sleeps.... :-(
unfortunately the limited weighed 500 pounds more..
For a daily driver, I'll take the sunroof and power seats in exchange for the extra weight.
