As Mr Regular once said, you don't really own the car you're just the one looking after it for now. I know the previous owner would love to see his build finally be on the road and hopefully you can fulfill that. Awesome car
FINALLY A RUclipsR WITH A LEGACY!! My Dad has just received his 2007 Legacy, GT B spec (Wagon) from Japan. Glad to see someone appreciating the Legacy wagons
As a detailer, I want to come do a paint correction on that car sooooo bad. Its not because I love wagons either :hide: Looks like the guy spared no expense, a lot of rare and good parts from the sounds of it.
The quality of your videos and the effort you put into them is amazing. You have better quality videos that many other youtubers that have way more subs. Keep up the great work and videos!
Hey Ben Landed myself in a similar situation with a 90's wrx here in NZ. Spent hundreds of hours figuring out the previous owner's wiring, mistakes and oversights. If it's legal in the US my biggest recommendation would be to fork out for an aftermarket ecu. (it looks like he's still got the stock one installed) Plugging a laptop in then being able to diagnose each circuit individually, test the i/o and run the car without O2 sensors and other factory equipment connected while you are testing is a life saver. Good luck with your build it'll be all worth it in the end! Will look forward to updates soon.
Mitchell Coleman ECUs are legal in the states. Damn near anything is apart from slicks on the road (the obvious danger of rain+slicks makes it self explanatory) as well as straight pipe exhausts. Although in Florida, they don’t care, so you can straight pipe your car.
I've always loved wagons! To be honest, any car can be an enthusiast car if you put the time in and love driving it enough. I met this guy with a turbo LS swapped 2001 Astro van and he loved it so much he stripped all the rust with chemicals, and is now repainting the whole thing
I just picked up a 2005 LGT Wagon within the last year too. I can surely say it is my favorite car I've ever owned (This is car #23) I'm really excited to watch your Legacy come back to life. Best of luck in the coming months!
Pull the engine, change all the hoses and couplers, change the spark plugs and every fluid, hire someone to do a wiretuck so they can clean up that nest and then you'll be in great shape. If that engine is from Japan and is a true ej207 you'll definitely want your AVCS wired up and a link g4+ ecu. With the mods you listed your car will make 400awhp no problem with the correct tune; just make sure your internals are built if you want to push out more power. Have fun, good luck, and stay safe!
Yes. You have your hands full. But I believe your going in the right direction. Piece by piece part by part test my test and I believe you'll have a masterpiece this is something I would love to have in my backyard. I was looking for something of a next project car and I think I see it in front of my eyes. I definitely will keep watching you and your successes. Good luck and all the best.
Gears and Gasoline are these newer legacies 5x100 bolt pattern? I've been looking for some decent wheels for my 97 gtb for nearly 2 years... stupid ass bolt pattern haha
I've been wanting to know the plans for this Legacy 2.5GT wagon ever since you picked it up and was very happy to see this video. With all that additional cooling in the engine bay, suspension, and brake work, it looks like the previous owner had some track days in mind. I'm sure you guys will figure out how to get this beast on the road!
I have a white OBXT, same generation as his, making 350WHP currently. Down for forged internals as well! Haul ass and haul all your shit with it! Keep it up you guys!
this is awsome man, good to see the passion for cars going from owner to owner, bet this dude would be proud im planning on buliding my 2008 liberty soon haha keen to see where yours goes !
This makes me so happy. Man passes away but someone keeps his car living on. I hope when I pass someone takes car of my car, but most likely my wife will sell it to some jackass for cheap... But either way this makes me extremely happy.
Okay so while I was super sad to see the Spec B go (still hurts a bit just cause I want one) this GT Wagon is pretty sweet. I can't wait to see running around. I sit think this car could be have found a better owner.
May sound a bit out there but I'd take it all back out and reinstall everything. Who knows what is and is not done correctly. The wiring that is going to the ecu wiring is likely for the mapdccd. You will likely also find one going to the brake pedal switch and one going to the ebrake.
@@TheOriginalUberGoober I wouldn't assume that, it could've been for a variety of reasons. Maybe having the car around reminded her too much of him, or she knew she wouldn't be able to maintain it and it was just sitting around, etc. Either way, we'll never know.
Love your whip, I hope we get to cruise together one day. I dig the choice for the Leggy. I'm stuck on 3rd Gens, but gonna cop a 06 Baja next year for the turbo game. Keep it up sir!
Its a great car, it would be really nice if you could get some stuff on the previous owner to show us, from his family maybe. He was clearly a guy worthy mention
I think legacy GT wagons (as well as spec-bs) are the hidden unicorn of the Subaru world. Most people say otherwise. They think that the Subaru unicorn is the 2014 STI wagon, but I’ve seen more 2014 STI wagons (about 5) than legacy spec-bs and GT wagons combined (a grand total of one GT wagon).
Much respect to you for taking on such a tough build. Wondering if you asked his widow if he left any ideas of where he was going with this build? Looking forward to see how it turns out.
I used to go get cars on my motorcycle.... especially when I was buying a pickup truck. Just ride there with tie downs, buy the truck and bring bike back in truck. Just have to find a ditch or ramp...
I own a legacy gt bl5 and I've done a lot of work myself I suggest if you can't find some info on your legacy it is quiet simular to wrx in terms of wiring, parts etc anything really.
Rip to the previous owner. He knew what he was doing. That's an amazing car.
As Mr Regular once said, you don't really own the car you're just the one looking after it for now. I know the previous owner would love to see his build finally be on the road and hopefully you can fulfill that. Awesome car
FINALLY A RUclipsR WITH A LEGACY!!

what about mighty car mods?
josh robson SUPER GRAMPS👐👐👐👐👐👐👐
ItsKanjo krispy Media?
ItsKanjo all the above ^
It doesn't sound like you were looking hard enough 😂👍
Jesus so many quality parts on that wagon. In respect to the previous owner, I'm glad you've decided to finish his build rather than part it out.
You're building his legacy in both figurative speech and literally
Mark Tanteo this comment is so underrated
As a detailer, I want to come do a paint correction on that car sooooo bad. Its not because I love wagons either :hide:
Looks like the guy spared no expense, a lot of rare and good parts from the sounds of it.
It needs detailing pretty badly, but it needs a new paint job first.
Good luck!!
Im surprised that this comment isn't famous
SO SO happy to see the legacy back on the channel!!! Remember when you bought it, can't wait to see it running!!!!!!
Man, that is so sad the previous owner never got to experience that thing in all its glory once it was finished.
Hop on the legacy fourms and start a build thread. Theres alot of info on those rarer parts you have on there.
The quality of your videos and the effort you put into them is amazing. You have better quality videos that many other youtubers that have way more subs. Keep up the great work and videos!
You should name the car after the owner that died. So his soul could be apart of the car.
TheDustyaman
realist shit I ever read.

Best looking car Subaru ever made (sedan and wagon form, outback included)
This is gorgeous, This is everything I'm working on/dreaming of doing to my 06 Wagon. Good Luck, I'm installing a set of them mirrors this week.
Hey i found your channel about a week ago and i love it man keep up the good work
Supergramps?
Murica supergramps
Not quite, but that's a pretty good Legacy. I like the blue as well.
Yaaasssss finally! Glad to see the wagon making an appearance!

What a beautiful wagon put together with some quality parts - can't wait to see more videos on it!
Running the oil cooler up top to utilize the hood scoop is genius

Can't wait to watch the build on this and see you get it back on the road! Good luck you guys got this
Great video as always. It was great meeting you at Gridlife in Joliet at the Autobahn. Can't wait to see that video.
Finaly I freaking love to see you work on cars
Man I want those advan model 5s...ive wanted those for like 10 years. Sweet
+Sir Awsome Mcdouglas i might be willing to sell them to you
Gears and Gasoline thanks but im not sure they'll fit on my frs, nor do i really have the money.😀
Sir Awsome Mcdouglas they will fit your car without a doubt
Gears and Gasoline are these newer legacies 5x100 bolt pattern? I've been looking for some decent wheels for my 97 gtb for nearly 2 years... stupid ass bolt pattern haha

What a great story! And the start of a great build!
I just started building my first car with my dad. I'm putting a ej205 wrx in a 99 legacy wagon. Gorgeous car btw man.
I have a white OBXT, same generation as his, making 350WHP currently. Down for forged internals as well! Haul ass and haul all your shit with it! Keep it up you guys!
you should keep this car for awhile, make the previous owner proud. looks like he put a lot of work and love into it.
I will be watching this, possibly a future vehicle for me. I've owned a 2003 Legacy Wagon, 5speed and a 2004 Forester XT 4eat.
Rest in piece subie bro
That car is gonna be a beast.
this is awsome man, good to see the passion for cars going from owner to owner, bet this dude would be proud
im planning on buliding my 2008 liberty soon haha keen to see where yours goes !
Awh what a nice story behind this car.
Great car! Looking forward to this build, could have gotten parted out and scrapped, but you saved it. Love that.
drinking game : everytime he says "the 6spd from the sti" take a shot
and "JDM"
Amazing Video Quality...Thanks for Uploading.
This is gonna be an awesome project!!!! Looking forward to this!!!
This makes me so happy. Man passes away but someone keeps his car living on. I hope when I pass someone takes car of my car, but most likely my wife will sell it to some jackass for cheap... But either way this makes me extremely happy.
The oil cooler is such a damn good idea!!!
Beautiful project and stunning video and editing
Best of luck Ben!
I love the color of the paint.
Yus so stoked I found this
Okay so while I was super sad to see the Spec B go (still hurts a bit just cause I want one) this GT Wagon is pretty sweet. I can't wait to see running around. I sit think this car could be have found a better owner.
Looks just like my 05 LGT Wagon! RBP Crew! When Betsy is road worthy we will have to meet up for a shoot!
The Legacy looks awesome! I have a 2007 Legacy GT wagon in the same colour :)
May sound a bit out there but I'd take it all back out and reinstall everything.
Who knows what is and is not done correctly.

You guys should physically present the wife the build once it's completely done. That would be awesome
Vince Fung she don’t care about it at all. That’s why she got rid of it.
@@TheOriginalUberGoober I wouldn't assume that, it could've been for a variety of reasons. Maybe having the car around reminded her too much of him, or she knew she wouldn't be able to maintain it and it was just sitting around, etc. Either way, we'll never know.
Glad to see the saving of a car that could have just as easily been sent to a junkyard.
Always great videos from you guys, looking forward to seeing how this build goes!
I love y'all's content! Keep it up! Can't wait to see the build on this beauty! 😎
Holy shit, this is like my dream car. Sub'd, can't wait to see it on the street!
WAGON HYYYPPPEEEE, when you finish it, hopefully I'll have more money into my wagon, I'm going for a similar build loll
Wow this is really great content I'm really excited I stumbled upon this video keep up the great work!
Love your whip, I hope we get to cruise together one day. I dig the choice for the Leggy. I'm stuck on 3rd Gens, but gonna cop a 06 Baja next year for the turbo game. Keep it up sir!

Cant wait to see the outcome, I have electrical gremlins in my build as well but im sure we will both work them out..
Its a great car, it would be really nice if you could get some stuff on the previous owner to show us, from his family maybe. He was clearly a guy worthy mention
Subscribed just to see more on this car.
I too have a 2005 legacy gt wagon with a built motor and supporting mods
I think legacy GT wagons (as well as spec-bs) are the hidden unicorn of the Subaru world. Most people say otherwise. They think that the Subaru unicorn is the 2014 STI wagon, but I’ve seen more 2014 STI wagons (about 5) than legacy spec-bs and GT wagons combined (a grand total of one GT wagon).
Can't wait to see.
I really want a wagon like this. hope to see on the road.
you should hit up KrispyMedia and CGmedia they are slightly building Chris's car
This is art
When you get it up and running, you should hit up Krispy Media, as he is currently working on his Legacy wagon too!
I bought a UK Legacy Spec B 6speed, also from a widow unfortunately but I love it
Much respect to you for taking on such a tough build. Wondering if you asked his widow if he left any ideas of where he was going with this build? Looking forward to see how it turns out.
Damn r.i.p the ex owner your a real one keeping his dream going
I want this so bad. A legacy wagon with big power is my dream beast. Meanwhile I have a 17 sti lol
Is it possible to throw a turbo in my 2008 Subaru Legacy non turbo?
I used to go get cars on my motorcycle.... especially when I was buying a pickup truck. Just ride there with tie downs, buy the truck and bring bike back in truck. Just have to find a ditch or ramp...
legacy got me subbed.
Rip to the old owner. He was very dedicated
one word; GEARSOLINE..
yessss, more build videos
sick wagon
I'm sure this has already been requested but you should do a getting to know Matt Maran (formerly subaruwrxfan). Amazing video as usual!
Dude, more vids of this please!
Are y'all still only doing this full time for income or having another "regular" job?
respect man
All of that for hopefully for 100 more hp, man I love my Subarus 😂
Subscribed for this.

RIP and respect to previous owner
PLEASE BRING THIS BACK
R.I.P fellow car lover

What a beauty
I own a legacy gt bl5 and I've done a lot of work myself I suggest if you can't find some info on your legacy it is quiet simular to wrx in terms of wiring, parts etc anything really.
all the metal pipes for turbo are going to cause heat soak try and use plastic as much as possible
Looks awsome
