@@lawrencea274 they won a Grammy for this song, they continued to perform until October 2019 when their brother Jojo Garza announced he was stepping away from the group, which was composed of his other 2 brothers.
Lawrence A they have completely different lyrics like entirely it’s not even the same feel. They didn’t get super famous because it was never about fame for them and in Texas (where they started) they’re huge and in Latin America. A lot of their hits are in spanish

Aw, I'd never really paid attention to the lyrics, and I definitely didn't know the story about the baby. But this song brings happy emotions to me. It was popular when my husband and I were just starting out. We lived in the same complex, his apartment was in the next building over from mine. The first time we heard this song on the radio, when it got to How far is Heaven, he said, "About a hundred yards." It became our song for the first part of our relationship because of the joke he made, so happy memories for me.
Saw these guys with Santana years ago and super talented group. Definitely can hold their own and very underrated band

This "group" is 3 brothers from a border town and they call their sound Texican! The Spanish part means, Father God rain down Your Blessings on us! The whole song is a prayer!

I just saw them in concert last summer at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA with Los Lobos and let me tell you, they are AMAZING live!! 🙌🏻

I've listened to lots of Los Lonely Boys. Such fun! Such energy! They do a lot of covers ("Cisco Kid" from War, for example) but this is one of their own and best.
My favorite band for the past 15 years. In fact Velvet Sky is my favorite song of theirs. The harmonies and musicianship are so underrated. I've seen them over 200 times LIVE. So glad you got to them in your reaction. Yes Henry (lead guitarist and vocals) and his wife lost their young son to SIDS. So many great originals they do and great covers too! My profile pic is with them too. Not a groupie just a fan. Lol. Thanks India!!!

My favorite band i love Henry's hair. this song is fire i have been a long time fan. the Other Side isn’t some distant paradise beyond the clouds. It really exists right here among us, only three feet above our ground level, simply in another dimension with a much higher vibration than ours.

You can hear the influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan in Henry Garza's guitar. They're from San Angelo Tx, not far from Austin. Check out their live performances from SXSW. Awesome.

AHHhhh... the Los Lonely Boys... THANK YOU FOR DOIN' THIS TRACK!!!! Welcome to the party, y'all. That being said, I didn't know the meaning of this song/lyrics-wise, I never paid attention. It's truly a sad song...but, I just caught up in the VIBE of the music. The VIBE, speaking for myself, is relaxing-hangin' out in my backyard, havin' a well-deserved BEER, after a hard workweek, OR at a beach just watching the surf break (wondering a whole bunch of stuff). THIS music is sorta like ISLAND MUSIC OR REGGAE... BUT, with a lil' bit of rhythm & blues mixed in. The meaning of this song (sad & depressing), coupled with the VIBE of this "Feel-good" emotion, makes a WHOLE LOT OF SENSE. Kudos to you for the educational thoughts. Unfortunately I have been down that road a few times. It's messed up but I remember when I would ask the Lord to bring me home and be mad when I woke up. Took awhile to get over that. When you just feel like you don't belong. The older you get you just realize you have to be you and don't lose yourself. People can be cruel but they don't walk in your shoes or pay your bills so in the end most of them won't matter in the grand scheme of things. Sometimes you have to get older to realize some of the stuff you have to deal with will be inconsequential later in life. I feel for all of those who have had that conversation with God. It truly is about as low as you can be
Loved them for the longest time, even my kids loved them! Had bought tickets to check em out and they flaked, the venue wasn't "up to par" for them, they forgot where they came from, I be seen big bands still play clubs but these guys are divas! Was a vary big fan but now they just there now, still never got my money back!
Sorry to hear that. The boys became very cautious after Henry fell from a stage after a show and injured his back. So I dont blame them for being extra careful with venues. And honestly they are the most humble musicians I've met. I hope you have better experiences with other musicians. I mean when live music becomes available again. Peace!

Henry Garza wrote this song at the lowest point of him and his family’s life. He’s just lost a child when he wrote this. They’ve had a rough time as a family. The best band out there!
